Chapter 77 - Cap 70: Hachimon Tonkou! (1)

"Is that all you got?" - Gaara asked with a cold look - "I hope not... because this fight would be meaningless if Kaasan doesn't want your blood..."

Gaara again made the arena go to where his opponent was, only this time, he was already prepared for the attack, so he jumped backward.

"Predictable" - said Gaara as the sand changed direction quickly, taking the poor boy by the leg and throwing him to the ground.

"Ack!" - Lee could only complain about receiving such an impact while spitting blood.

"This is not worth my time" - Gaara was starting to lose interest in the battle, so he decided to end it all as quickly as possible.

"It's not over yet!" - shouted Lee as he stood up. "This is only the beginning!"

Gaara didn't answer him, he just frowned as he watched the sand begin to surround the boy in green again.

Lee was on his guard again and with one quick move, disappeared from his current location and reappeared beside Gaara - "Take this!"

"It's ineffective" - said Gaara as the sand around him blocked all of Lee's blows - " This way you can never defeat me..."

Lee backed off when he knew his attacks would be ineffective, so he was preparing to activate his secret weapon but stopped when he heard his instructor scream - "Lee! Take them off!"

"Huh? Gai sensei?" - Lee was surprised that his sensei permitted him to remove his weights because he had been blunt when he said he could only remove them in times of crisis - "Are you sure about this?"

"Today will be an exception! You have to show all your power, Lee!" - said Gai from the stands - "Show what you can do without Ninjutsu and Genjutsu! Show them your flames of youth!"

"Hai, Gai Sensei!" - shouted Lee as he began to remove a pair of weights from his legs.

". . ." - Gaara just looked at this silently, thinking that maybe with this the battle would be a little more exciting, although honestly, he didn't expect much from the boy in front of him.

"That's a very old-fashioned method... Gai..." - said Kakashi with a blank look - "Although coming from you, I'm not very surprised..."

"Wait for a second, my rival!" - said Gai as he posed a cool pose - "The surprises aren't over yet!"

Kakashi was about to say something but was silent when he heard the impact of something massive hitting the ground. Slowly he looked out over the arena and saw the large crater the weights had left behind when they hit the ground.

"Well? What do you think?" - smiled the Taijutsu expert but his expression changed when he heard Kurama's voice - "A waste... he could very well be using Gravity Seals to strengthen not only his legs but his whole body... but he has been using weights... what a primitive method..."

". . ." - Gai didn't know how to respond to the red-haired boy's words because he honestly didn't know how to contradict that argument, although, in his defense, he could only say that he did not know those wonderful Seals until recently.

"Remind me to tell Gai to come to my house so that he can receive some gravity seals" - said Kushina, who also thought it was a waste for the boy to only train his speed when he could train his whole body at once.

"Ok," nodded Mikoto as she shook her head.

"Time for Round 2!" - exclaimed Lee as he disappeared from his location and the second he reappeared beside the young redhead - "Take this!"

"!" - Gaara's eyes for the first time in the whole fight, had a change. His pupils contracted when he realized he didn't feel the presence of the young with green spandex until his sand moved to defend him.

"That's not all!" - exclaimed Lee as he moved at full speed around the Ichibi's Jinchuriki.

" Ora!" - shouted Lee as he sent out punches and kicks that were blocked by the sand of Gaara, who was completely shocked that his opponent's fists were getting closer to his body. Gaara for the first time in his life did not know what to do, Lee's attacks were unpredictable and every time he tried to react to one, a new attack came from the opposite direction.

"Here I come! Youthful strike!" - shouted Lee, and then punched the redhead in the face, who flew out on impact - "Gotcha!"

"This is bad..." - murmured the two Sabaku brothers when they saw this situation, Their pupils contracted when they noticed how Gaara was slowly rising after being attacked by the boy in green spandex.

"Huh?" - Lee felt a cold aura surrounding his body as the red-haired boy looked at him with a ghoulish smile - "What's wrong?"

But before he could say anything else, he backed off at full speed when he saw how the sand nearby was speeding against him - "!"

"Heh...Heh...Heh-heh...Heh-heh-heh! This is what I was looking for!" - roared the Jinchuriki as he looked madly at the boy in front of him - "Your blood... KAASAN WANTS YOUR BLOOD!"

"My attack did nothing to him!" - exclaimed Lee in his thoughts as he noticed fragments of sand starting to fall from his opponent's face, proving that he still had no scratches.

"What happened, green boy?!" - asked Gaara as his blood l.u.s.t increased with every passing second - "Where's all the energy you had a few seconds ago?!"

". . ." - Lee couldn't hide the fear he was feeling right now. He could see the madness in his opponent's eyes as he felt himself slowly being caught in his enemy's web.

"I'm waiting..." - said Gaara as he looked at the boy in green.

"All or nothing!" - mumbled Lee as he gritted his teeth. He was doing his best to contain the fear he felt for his enemy. Slowly, he untied the bandages on his arms and ran out at Gaara.

Gaara's smile froze when he saw that Le had disappeared again, more so when he felt a presence appear behind him.

"Too late!" - exclaimed the Genin of Konoha as he once again dodged the sand the boy from Suna had thrown at him, only to reappear beneath him and kick him in the chin.

"Ack!" - Gaara complained about the punch, but to his bad luck, the combo wasn't over yet because Lee had punched him in the jaw again.

"If you think I'll end up here, then you are dead wrong!" - said Lee as he continued to lift the boy with his blows and wrapped his bandages around his body. Gaara had been caught in some kind of bandage cocoon as Lee took it with all his might and started spinning at full speed - "Omote Renge!"

The two Genins were spinning faster and faster, to the point where the centrifugal force was such that Gaara's sand couldn't help him.

"S-Shit!" - roared Gaara as he felt it hit the ground head-on.

"Do you think he made it?" - Tenten asked with concern as she watched her teammate stand up with pain.

"I don't know," denied Shikamaru as he watched the match. "That Suna Genin is too erratic to say for sure if he has been defeated.

"Don't look down on the resistance of a Jinchuriki" - said Kurama seriously - "The Bijuu inside it not only gives it a Chakra power but an increase in the tenacity of its body, after all, it is designed to resist a lot of corrosion by the poisonous Bijuu Chakra".

"Kurama is right about this" - said Kakashi seriously. He had read the reports of the known Jinchurikis and they were all monsters who could fight for days.

"Not counting..." - the redheaded man muttered as he looked at Lee - "That technique causes a great deal of damage to the user..."

"That's right," nodded Gai as he watched his student rise carefully, "Omote Renge is forbidden Taijutsu for that very reason"

"Tell me you didn't teach him that," said Kakashi coldly. "Tell me, Gai!"

". . ." - Gai was only silent when he heard his rival's words.

"Do you know what you have done?!" - exclaimed Kakashi angrily - "You could have killed him!"

"That was his wish!" - Gai exclaimed angrily - "And I, as his sensei, will do my duty to guide my student on the path he decides!"

"What are you talking about?" - Kurenai asked with a scowl but his expression changed when he noticed the expression of the young Uzumaki - "Kurama-kun?

"?" - the others looked at him too but their expressions changed when they noticed the cold look the redhead had while looking at Suna's Jinchuriki - "This is bad..."

"What's wrong, Kurama?!" - exclaimed Kakashi as he looked at the boy.

"I didn't know the seal was from Shukaku was so badly made" - answered the boy.

"What does that mean?!" - Yamato said with surprise but his expression changed when he noticed the change in Gaara's energy. As a user of Mokuton, he had a clear connection to the Bijuu, so he could understand what was about to happen but was relieved when he heard Kurama's words.

"He is not freeing himself... but that doesn't change that things will be worse now..." - Kurama said as he shook his head - "A part of Shukaku's consciousness is awakening in Gaara's body"
