Chapter 62 - Master!

"Why?" Hecathe clicked his tongue as he questioned, "Didn't you hear me the first time?"

"Fifteen million Lenix placed by our lovely customer sitting up at seat 94!" The auctioneer continued to announce the rising bids in the background but it didn't look like Hecathe paid any attention to him.

The Dorgon chuckled and the dry chuckling sound would have definitely managed to send a shiver down anyone's spine, however, Hecathe was completely unaffected.

If the Dorgon was fully grown then maybe Hecathe would feel a little intimidated, however, seeing as how the Dorgon hadn't even been completely born yet and had already managed to get caught up in such a situation, it was clear that Hecathe had nothing to worry about.

"If it's something hard for you to do then you can forget it," Hecathe sighed as he added, "You can just go find somebody else who will save you."

"Twenty million Lenix placed by our lovely customer up at seat 87!" The auctioneer announced and Hecathe chuckled.

"The one at seat 87 looks to be quite interested in you," Hecathe smirked as he suggested, "Why not ask him for help? He was also the one who won Edler's sword. Don't you want to join hands with the next hero sitting up at seat 87?"

The Dorgon was silent for a minute and Hecathe guessed that he was probably trying to control his anger. After all, Dorgons had quite an unpredictable instinctual habit of displaying anger in the most ruthless way possible.

"Why? You don't want to?" Hecathe questioned once again as he heard no response from the dorgon egg, "You'd rather stay with a villain like me?"

The dorgon gave no response this time as well.

"Thirty million Lenix placed by the beautiful guest sitting at seat 44!"

"So I'll take your silence as a yes," Hecathe sighed, "Is it because I'm the only one that can hear you? I'm the only one so nobody else can help you?"

"That's right," The dorgon egg muttered in a low volume, "You're the only one who can listen to me so you're the only one that can save me..."

"But that doesn't mean I should."

"..."

"I might be the only one that can save you but you give me no reason to actually help you out. Just because I can do it doesn't mean I should do it."

"You'll regret it if you don't..." The Dorgon gritted out, "You'll seriously regret it if you don't save me."

"Sorry to disappoint you but I don't waste time on things like regret," Hecathe confidently and coldly responded.

"Fifty million Lenix placed by our wonderful customer sitting up at seat 87!" The auctioneer continued his announcements.

"Then what is it that you want?" The Dorgon questioned after much hesitation.

"Nothing much," Hecathe shrugged his shoulder as he spoke, "Call me master and I'll save you."

"..."

"I'll take you in and treat you nicely like a pet. In return, you lend me your powers if I ever need them."

The Dorgon once again fell silent and this time, Hecathe also didn't try to make the egg talk.

For a human to take in a Dorgon as a pet... Not only was it unheard of but it was simply disgraceful for a Dorgon. It was a direct insult to their superior golden blood and both Hecathe and the dorgon knew this.

Hecathe could understand the Dorgon's hesitation, but he also knew that at the end of the day, the dorgon would have to agree to whatever demand Hecathe placed because Hecathe was the only way the Dorgon could save himself now.

If Hecathe refused to help him then the dorgon would really end up in someone's belly and from the ongoing bidding war, it could be estimated that it would be Raven's belly.

"Seventy million Lenix placed by our lovely guest up at seat 44!" The auctioneer beamed, "This has really gone way beyond my expectations but I can assure you that this egg is worth every Lenix you spend!"

Even Hecathe couldn't help but unconsciously nod as he agreed with the auctioneer.

A Dorgon's egg... It was such a rare and powerful item that it could be considered priceless. No matter how much you would pay for it, it would still not be enough.

Raven once again raised his hand as he placed a higher bid for the egg.

"Eighty million Lenix placed by our amazing customer sitting in seat 87!" The auctioneer announced, "Ladies and gentleman, that is certainly a formidable amount but I have a feeling that it won't be stopping there!"

Just as the auctioneer had predicted, the woman sitting in seat 44 also raised her hand as she placed a higher bid.

"Ninety million Lenix placed by our lovely guest sitting in seat 44!"

Raven sighed as he raised his hand once again but the auctioneer looked confused for a second as he saw someone else raised their hand as well.

"Five...? Five hundred million Lenix placed by the one sitting in seat 94!"

Even Hecathe was a bit shocked as he looked up to see that the one who placed this ridiculous bid was actually a mecha-suit.

Such rich people... Hecathe was afraid that he might not be able to save the Dorgon even if he were to try.

Raven clicked his tongue in annoyance as he held up a single finger and the auctioneer looked to be a little confused at first.

"One?" The auctioneer tilted his head and when he saw Raven nodding his head, the man immediately realized what Raven had wanted to bid, "One billion Lenix! Another formidable amount placed by the gentleman sitting in seat 87!"

Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this.

If this Raven was such a rich man then why the hell did he come to the golden fire guild for a temporary mission?

It was clear that money wasn't the reason for his decision!

"A-are there any more bids coming in?" The auctioneer asked and waited for a minute to see if there was someone willing to pay more but as expected, there was nobody who had such deep pockets and even if they did, they were probably saving their money for the special item that was the reason why they all came here today.

"Then One billion Lenix going once!"

"Going Twice!"

"Master!" The Dorgon suddenly shouted and Hecathe smirked in satisfaction as he confidently raised his hand and placed a bid.
