Hecathe opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the face of LeiLei who was a bit too close to him.
Hecathe blinked in confusion as he wondered if he was seeing things, however, he soon figured out that the girl was really there staring at him with big bright shining eyes.
"What are you doing...?" Hecathe asked as he yawned and tried to get up.
"Sir, you're handsome..." LeiLei commented as a response and for some reason, refused to look away from Hecathe.
"..."
Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this.
He wouldn't have taken off the mask if he knew the girl was going to wake up before him.
It was uncomfortable sleeping with a mask on and that was the only reason why Hecathe took it off.
"So...?" Hecathe frowned a little as he sat up straight.
"I thought you weren't going to be handsome..." The girl spoke with a pout.
"..."
"Master, is it a good thing to be handsome?" The Dorgon asked as he looked at Hecathe's face closely.
Hecathe pursed his lips into a thin smile as he heard this question and decided not to answer it.
"Why did you wake up so early?" Hecathe asked the girl as he stretched his neck and shoulders.
Hecathe hadn't expected it, but turns out sleeping on the floor was way more uncomfortable than he thought it would be.
"I am used to sleeping on the floor so I couldn't sleep on the bed," LeiLei smiled as she replied, and at first, Hecathe didn't find anything weird about it, however, a minute passed and Hecathe slowly frowned as he repeated her words in his head.
"Did you stay up the entire night?" Hecathe questioned with a frown.
LeiLei nodded her head without any hesitation and Hecathe was left a little speechless.
"Master, this witch was staring at you like a hawk," The Dorgon informed with a scoff and it seemed that he still didn't like LeiLei.
"I woke up when you picked me up and took me to the bed," LeiLei beamed, "At first I thought you were going to take advantage of me but I was wrong. You're a good person, Sir."
Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this, "..."
Just what type of guy did she think he was...?!
"Master, I also thought she was going to take advantage of you when you slept," The Dorgon clicked his tongue as he commented.
"In any case, I have decided!" The girl suddenly exclaimed with a bright smile, "I don't care who it is that you want to catch but I'm going to help you!"
Hecathe's eyes widened ever so slightly as he heard this.
He had really wasted a lot of time on planning and thinking about how to make the girl trust him, but it seemed that he had thought a bit too much about it and wasted his time in the process.
This girl ended up trusting him after just a night...?!
It was a bit unbelievable!
"Didn't you already decide to work for me?" Hecathe asked as he tilted his head.
The girl nodded her head and chuckled as she responded, "I did plan on working for you but now I have planned to work with you."
"What's the difference?" Hecathe asked, looking to be a bit confused.
"If I'm working for you then it means I don't trust you enough and if I'm working with you, it means I trust you to have my back as well."
Hecathe was still a little confused as he heard this but he simply waited to hear her continue and didn't bother speaking in between.
"In the first case, I may even end up betraying you or abandoning you but in the latter case, you do not have to worry about that. You can trust me and I can also trust you, it's that kind of a difference," LeiLei explained with a smile as she asked, "Isn't it better this way?"
Hecathe thought about it for a minute and nodded his head as he simply agreed to the girl.
LeiLei looked to be happy as she saw this reaction and the girl immediately stood up as she spoke, "Then I'll be going down to help with the breakfast. You should come down after you take care of that."
"Eh?"
The girl pointed down at Hecathe with a smile and didn't bother saying more as she left the room and when Hecathe looked down to see the morning wood that had caused a tent in his pants.
"..."
For the first time in his life, he understood what it was like to be embarrassed.
Hecathe had forgotten how much it sucked to have a teenage body...!
"Master, look on the bright side. At least, you're healthy," The Dorgon commented as if he were trying to make Hecathe feel better.
Hecathe glared at the Dorgon as he heard him, "Don't you dare say anything more, or you're not getting any breakfast."
"What?! Why are you angry at me?" The Dorgon scoffed as he replied, "I was just trying to make you feel better!"
"..."
Hecathe rubbed his forehead with a sigh as he spoke, "Just go away."
"Fine," The Dorgon breathed out, sounding a bit angry at the man, "But you better stop rubbing your forehead or you'll age a hundred years in a day!"
Hecathe didn't know if the Dorgon was trying to curse him or not but he indeed stopped rubbing his forehead as he heard the creature.
.
.
.
By the time Hecathe came down for breakfast, the others had already eaten without waiting for him and Hecathe didn't seem to care too much about it as he simply sat down on the table and waited for the food that was served by LeiLei.
"Young man, your girlfriend was such a big help," The landlady spoke with a chuckle as soon as she saw the man and Hecathe almost choked on empty air as he heard her words.
Since when did LeiLei become his girlfriend...?! They had just met yesterday!
Instead of correcting the woman, LeiLei giggled as she indirectly accepted it, leaving Hecathe speechless.
LeiLei placed the food down in front of Hecathe and smiled as she spoke, "I heard you have a habit of eating chicken sandwiches in the morning so I made one for you."
Hecathe looked down at the sandwich that was clearly burnt and he didn't know if he wanted to eat it or not.
"Have you ever cooked before?" Hecathe asked with his face cringed up in disgust as he saw the black sandwich.
"Of course, I have!" LeiLei immediately exclaimed and this kind of response was really a bit hard to believe for Hecathe.
"What did you cook? Burnt eggs?"
LeiLei's eyes widened slightly as she heard this and her cheeks blushed red as she nodded her head.
"..."
Hecathe was simply joking but turns out the girl was really an expert in cooking burnt food.
"Now~ Now~ She made it for you with all her heart, you should at least take a bite," The Landlady spoke in between with a smile as she took a seat in front of Hecathe.
Hecathe really wasn't interested in eating these burnt sandwiches, however, when he heard this and looked up to see the anticipating sparkle in LeiLei's eyes, he couldn't help but feel that it was best to at least take a bite.
If he threw it away without even tasting it then he was sure both LeiLei and the Landlady would be disappointed.
Hecathe gulped as he gathered the courage and picked the sandwich up to take a bite.
The bread was so burnt that as soon as he touched the sandwiches, he could see his fingers turning black, however, Hecathe still closed his eyes and tried his best to ignore it as he took a bite.
CRUNCH~
"..."
Since when were sandwiches supposed to be crunchy...?!
Hecathe immediately put the sandwich down on the table and his face seemed to have turned white.
LeiLei gulped in worry and it was clear that she had already heard that unnatural crunch sound.
"LeiLei... Dear, tell me you didn't forget to take out the bones from the chicken...?" The Landlady asked in disbelief as she glanced at the girl who fiddled with the hem of her apron and refused to give an answer to that question.
By being silent, the girl had already given the answer so the landlady just pursed her lips into a thin line and stood up to go back to the kitchen.
Hecathe took another bite and once again, the same crunching sound could be heard.
"I'm sorry, Sir..." LeiLei apologized as she looked down at the ground.
Hecathe had his mouth filled with crushed chicken bones so it was only natural that he didn't give the girl a response.
The Landlady came back with a bowl and looked to be worried for the man as she spoke, "Spit it out in this."
Hecathe immediately took the bowl and spit everything out on the bowl before putting the bowl aside and wiping his mouth with a napkin that was kept on the side.
