Memory erasing medicine...
Hecathe really couldn't understand what was the use of such a thing for Asgarian.
Did one of the other willows of spring find out about him so he now wants to erase their memory...?
This was a bit of a far-fetched answer but it was the only thing that Hecathe could come up with.
"Should we follow him out?" LeiLei asked as she saw the man leaving the place.
The auction was over and all the people attending had already started to leave. Asgarian was also among the people leaving, However, Hecathe was planning on staying back because he had something important to discuss with the auctioneer.
"Don't bother. Let him enjoy the fresh air of freedom for a bit longer," Hecathe spoke as a response to LeiLei who simply nodded her head in understanding, "We'll catch him when the time is right."
Marvin didn't look to be too happy with this decision but was still willing to listen to Hecathe who was the one making all the decisions.
"What are we going to do now?" LeiLei asked curiously as she looked at Hecathe, "Sir, you didn't even buy anything from the auction."
"It's because nothing interested me and I am not really here to place a bid on the items displayed out there. I'm here to buy something that is not going to be sold here."
LeiLei frowned as she heard this and wondered why the man was here to buy something that wasn't even being sold here...
Wasn't that the same as going to a meat shop to buy a broom?
It was basically pointless...
Marvin seemed to have already guessed what the man wanted to buy so he simply sighed and said nothing more as he followed Hecathe.
Hecathe led the other two all the way to a room that was always used by him and the auctioneer whenever Hecathe was here to sell the pure mutant beads.
As expected, the room was once again empty and as soon as the three entered, the auctioneer also came to the room soon enough.
The door of the room was guarded by people from the outside who made sure that there was nobody around to eavesdrop or interrupt and the room in itself was also soundproof which kept the details of the conversation private.
It was perfect for discussing things that one didn't want others to hear.
The auctioneer smiled as he saw Hecathe but his smile seemed to have faltered just a bit when his eyes landed on Marvin and LeiLei who were standing beside the man.
"You brought them as well?" The auctioneer raised his eyebrows and asked with a smile but Hecathe could clearly see that the man was not that happy to know that Hecathe had invited these two.
"I don't usually keep secrets from them and there is hardly anything about me that they don't know," Hecathe smiled as he responded to the man in any honest manner, however, his words were certainly not that honest.
"In any case, today I wanted to talk about something that involved them as well so it's only natural that I invited them over," Hecathe added politely and the auctioneer got a little surprised to hear this.
"Sir, Are you not here to sell pure mutant beads today?" The auctioneer asked as he looked at Hecathe.
Hecathe smirked as he heard this question and shook his head as he responded, "I am here for something far more important and profitable for you."
The auctioneer's eyebrows creased together with a bit of worry as he heard this and the man couldn't help but feel a little anticipation rising from within.
The auctioneer gestured towards the cushioned chairs as he spoke, "Please do sit down and make yourselves home. We can talk comfortably."
Hecathe nodded his head with a smile and didn't waste any further time standing as he sat down. Marvin and LeiLei were also not shy as they sat down on the cushioned chairs.
"Hecathe, why are we meeting the auctioneer for this?" Marvin asked in a whispering manner as he leaned in closer to Hecathe's ear.
The boy was clearly a bit confused with the turn of events.
He was sure that they were here to buy this auction house today but he had no idea how Hecathe planned to achieve such a thing.
The auction house was definitely not going to be on sale and even if it was, Marvin was sure that Hecathe wouldn't be able to afford it.
Hecathe let out a small breath that almost sounded like a half-suppressed chuckle and he gestured towards the auctioneer who sat in front of them, "This is the owner of this place."
"..."
Both Marvin and LeiLei were silent as they heard this and they repeated Hecathe's words in their mind as they looked at the auctioneer's smiling face and tried to make sure that they had heard the man right.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," The auctioneer greeted the two as he spoke.
LeiLei closed her open mouth and gulped as she finally took the information in.
"Wah~" Marvin muttered in awe as he kept his eyes on the auctioneer who looked to be completely normal.
Even Hecathe was shocked to know that this man was the owner of this place so it was only natural that Marvin and LeiLei were shocked as well.
Not many people knew this auctioneer's real identity. Even Alphius had no idea.
"You're really the owner?" LeiLei didn't bother beating around the bush as she straightforwardly asked the man and even unconsciously leaned in forward in anticipation.
The auctioneer let out a small chuckle as he nodded his head, "It is me."
"Amazing~" LeiLei sang and immediately asked, "Are you rich??"
"..." This time, the auctioneer was a little taken back by this question and he really didn't know how he was supposed to react to this question.
The owner of this auction house was said to be the secret ruler of the city Ocasia so did it look like he was lacking money...?!
They were probably dealing with the richest man in the city!
"You don't need to answer her question," Hecathe sighed as he spoke up and saved both LeiLei and the auctioneer from having an awkward conversation about the revenue of this illegal auction house.
The auctioneer nodded his head as he secretly thanked Hecathe in his mind.
"So you are really that old?" Marvin gulped as he asked and this was once again a conversation that was definitely not going to be fun.
The auction house wasn't started recently and this man was the one who started it. With his ability to live longer than normal humans, it was only natural that he was still alive and looked this young.
Hence, Marvin's question was just as stupid as LeiLei's question but thankfully enough, the auctioneer didn't understand the question straight off the bat.
"Ignore him as well," Hecathe shook his head in disbelief as he spoke and the auctioneer once again nodded his head in understanding as he listened to Hecathe.
"Wait!" LeiLei exclaimed as she spoke, "I have one last question!"
The auctioneer, "Hmm?"
"What do you eat?" LeiLei innocently blinked as she tilted her head and questioned.
At this moment, Hecathe probably felt more embarrassed than the auctioneer who was being asked these random questions.
"Um... I eat food," The auctioneer smiled as he politely answered with seriousness.
LeiLei frowned as she heard this boring reply and opened her mouth to say something more but thankfully enough, the girl was stopped by Hecathe who held his hand over her mouth and didn't let her talk.
The auctioneer let out a small chuckle as he saw this but said nothing more.
"Sir, what did you want to discuss today?" The auctioneer asked as he finally got ready to get into business.
Hecathe also coughed as he straightened his back and calmly spoke, "I want to buy the auction house."
"..."
The auctioneer stared back at Hecathe and blinked.
For an entire few minutes, the man had no response to Hecathe as he wondered if Hecathe was joking or not.
"It's not a joke," Hecathe spoke as he guessed what was going on inside this man's head.
The auctioneer gulped and his saliva seemed to have choked him as he coughed a few times and asked, "Sir, are you really not joking?"
Hecathe shook his head as he confirmed it, "I am not joking. I really do want to buy your auction house."
Now that Hecathe had clearly stated what he was here to buy, the auctioneer's complexion didn't look to be that good.
"Sir, It's unfortunate but I'm afraid that I can't help you this time," The auctioneer tried his best to handle this professionally as he spoke, "The auction house is not for sale and I'm sure that even if it was, it would not be easily bought by a single person alone."
Marvin didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry as he heard this. The auctioneer said the exact same thing that Marvin had already thought about.
"Isn't that why I brought these two here with me?" Hecathe smiled as he pointed at LeiLei and Marvin.
"..."
