Chapter 169 - We Found The House

He had certainly sent the two to look for the house but he didn't actually expect them to find it in a single day.

Hecathe was enthusiastic to know what happened but at the same time, from LeiLei's expression, he could guess that it was not that exciting of an incident.

"Why do you look like that if you found the house?" Hecathe asked cautiously.

"We found the house," LeiLei repeated with a sigh as she sat down on the ground with her legs crossed. She looked a bit tired but she still spoke and narrated everything that had happened, "We went to look for the house and after four hours of searching, we were able to find it. It didn't look the same and had been renovated, but I was still able to recognize it."

"And?"

"And we decided to go in. At first, it looked like nobody was home so we waited and knocked just to be sure, and oddly enough, the door opened on its own. This meant that someone was certainly inside and had opened the door for us so we took it as an invitation and went on in."

"You went inside a house that looked to be empty and you did that just because the door opened on its own...? Are you an idiot?" Hecathe asked as he summed up her words in a single sentence.

"When you put it like that, it makes us sound stupid," LeiLei frowned as she spoke.

"Well, at least you know that," Hecathe responded with a shrug.

LeiLei pursed her lips into a thin line and glared at the man before she rolled her eyes and decided to continue, "We went inside and the place was a bit too different from what I had remembered it to be."

LeiLei's face seemed to have cringed up as she remembered the horrific experience.

"It was hell," The girl explained it with a single word as she shivered at the mere thought of it and this only made Hecathe feel even more interested to know what had happened.

Even the Dorgon hadn't managed to scare the girl at all so what could it possibly be that had affected LeiLei so much...?

"It was filled with traps," LeiLei spoke as she continued, "We walked into the place and the door behind us closed, forcing us to be trapped inside, and then, one of the wooden panels from above broke and fell on us. If it hadn't been for Marvin, It would have certainly injured us."

Hecathe blinked in surprise as he heard this and now he started to wonder if LeiLei got the injury because she was really beaten up by someone or if she simply got the injury after falling into a trap that she could not escape from.

"We initially thought it was a bad coincidence and ignored it," LeiLei gritted her teeth as she spoke, "But then it happened again. There were small marbles thrown on the ground and as soon as we walked a step forward, the marbles threw us out of balance and we fell down!"

Hecathe looked to be attentively listening to this, but in reality, he was not just listening, he was also trying to understand why all of this happened and who could possibly be behind this.

"As if falling wasn't enough, the floor suddenly flipped over us and we were swallowed down by the ground!" LeiLei added as she slammed her hands on the table.

This girl had clearly not been enjoying her time back at her old house.

"We fell to this smelly basement and a bunch of dead rats were thrown at us from above." LeiLei continued, "By now, we had already realized that something was weird. So many bad coincidences would certainly not happen together like this."

Hecathe nodded his head as he agreed with her. He felt as if their realization had come a bit late since they should have already understood the sign when they found the marbles on the floor.

"We tried to get out of the place but it was dark and we couldn't find a normal door."

As LeiLei recalled the entire incident once again, she felt as if the more she spoke, the more strange it seemed.

Who in the world would set up so many traps inside their house...?!

"What should we do now?" LeiLei asked anxiously as she looked at Marvin.

Marvin sighed as he took out his double-bladed sword.

Paired up with his ability to control and produce light as a force, the sword soon began to emit a soft white light that eliminated the place.

The two looked around with a frown as they tried to find a way out, but just as they had guessed, there was only one way in and out of this place that could be seen and it was through the secret trap door that they had fallen through.

However, after they had fallen down here, the door had closed itself and there was now no way of opening it once again.

They didn't really have a wide variety of options to choose from. They could either wait to see what happens next or they could try to get out of here before something further bad happens.

The latter option sounded clearly better than the former since there was no way for them to survive in the empty basement room.

Marvin sighed as he raised his sword and with force, he threw it forward, aiming towards the wall as he ran behind the sword.

When the sword struck the wall, it created a small crack but the wall only broke fully when Marvin jumped up and kicked the blade further into the wall.

Although the wall had trapped them inside, it was still not strong enough to keep them there and Marvin was able to easily break it.

LeiLei looked to be both surprised and impressed as she saw this, but she only gave an approving nod and didn't say much about it.

They had broken the wall and managed to get out, but the traps were still not all over, as soon as they stepped out through the wall, flying medium-sized spears came flying towards them and Marvin immediately ducked his head down to avoid them.

LeiLei, on the other hand, was caught by surprise so she couldn't duck her head soon enough, but her body was still not willing to die and she acted on impulse as she automatically switched the upcoming spears with feathers.

The feathers did her no damage and she was once again safe.

"I'm going to kill the person who created all of this," LeiLei gritted out as she closed her eyes and tried her best to stay calm.

"Try to do it before they kill us," Marvin commented with a sigh and another trap was suddenly triggered.

All the walls around them started to move closer together and he was left a bit shocked and worried to see this since he knew that this one was not as easy to deal with.

"Run!" Marvin exclaimed impatiently and started running forward.

LeiLei was quick to follow after him but her footsteps soon came to a stop when she saw Marvin triggering another trap and falling down into the ground.

"Oh sh*t...!" LeiLei cursed almost immediately as she cautiously stepped back.

The floor closed itself once again after trapping Marvin down there somewhere and the walls that were coming together, trying to squeeze them, also stopped and went back to their original state.

LeiLei was left with her mouth open as she felt speechless and wondered if this was all just her imagination.

The two were separated just like that and for a second there, LeiLei almost thought that she was safe now and that it was just Marvin who had to deal with the traps, however, she was eventually proven wrong.

White smoke started to slowly fill the place up and LeiLei immediately covered her nose and mouth as she avoided breathing it in, but the smoke kept on filling the room and she eventually did have to take a breath which made her inhale some of the white smoke.

Just as the girl had guessed, the white smoke was a type of drug that made her feel exhausted and sleepy.

Her eyelids started feeling heavier and although she tried to fight against her sleep, it was of no use as the drug took effect and she dropped to the ground, deep asleep.

When LeiLei woke up again, she was lying inside a children's room and this room was oddly a bit too familiar to her.

It was her room...

Preserved just as it was for all these years...

LeiLei's eyes widened as she jolted up and looked around frantically. She certainly looked more frightened than simply surprised.

For a few minutes, there was nothing the girl could say, but when the initial shock and horror had settled in, the girl cursed out loud.

"Who the f*ck is playing with us?!" She shouted at the top of her lungs as if she was sure that someone was listening to her.
