Chapter 7 - Seven: Blue Diamond

The day went by in a flash, faster than Becca had hoped which meant the time of dread was rapidly approaching. She knew very well that she couldn't get out of it as her friend, Navaya, was a very persistent person who rarely took 'no' for an answer. So Becca decided to forget trying to escape from it and just face the music. It wasn't like she would stay there forever, just a few hours, right? But those few hours were going to be hell for her. She just prayed that Navaya wouldn't make her do something crazy or set her up with a stranger.

After getting off work that evening, she headed home, and seeing as she had two whole hours before Navaya comes to pick her up, she decided to eat dinner and chill for a few minutes. While scrolling through Instagram, she got a text from Navaya and sighed after reading the text had to say.

Navaya: 'Have you gotten ready yet?'

Becca: ' Not yet, I don't even know what to wear.' She walked to her closet and opened it. Different colors of dresses came into view but none of them enticed her. she ran her hands through the dresses that were neatly hung on racks, trying to find at least one that was appropriate to wear to a club but found none. As most of her clothes were either casual or office cooperate, so she didn't have any party clothes because she never really pictured herself going to clubs or partying and whatnot.

Navaya: 'Okay, just wear something that shows a generous amount of legs but does not make you look like a slut.'

Becca: ' you sure you aren't talking about yourself?' Becca smirk as she pressed the send button. Navaya was making her do something she despised, so what better way to get back at her than be sassy and make fun of her. Becca knew Navaya hated sassy people, even though she was the sassiest person on the planet.

Navaya: ' Whatever, just wear something sexy.'

Then Becca sent a sticker of a woman face-palming herself, feeling too tired to reply with words. Thank God for stickers and emojis!

How she just wished she could sell her best friend for money. Sometimes she was nothing but a pain in the ass. something though. The rest of the time, Navaya was as cool as a cucumber and a really helpful person. She then picked up a random dress because she didn't have the time to ransack her entire closet for a stupid dress she knew quite well didn't exist in there and headed to the bathroom.

Then fifteen minutes passed and she came out fully dressed. After putting on makeup and wearing some jewelry, left her penthouse apartment and went downstairs. Once outside the building, she saw Navaya slightly leaning on her black Ferrari, looking all fly as always. As she approached where Navaya's car was parked, the first thing she heard was a loud squeal from her best friend.

" Yeeeeee! OMG bestie! where did you pull out this dress from? Have you been hiding it from me?! I always knew you had a gorgeous body that was magazine-worthy, no doubt about it but with this dress?! Girl, you would be the next big thing! I know I said to wear something sexy but I don't remember saying dress to kill because with you in that sexy AF dress, I'm certain many men are gonna suffer from heart attacks tonight!" Navaya started rapping, bombarding Becca with questions and words.

Becca didn't even see what was so special about the dress, it was just a black spaghetti strap figure-hugging mini dress that her sister, Kristina, brought her.

They drove to a club called Blue diamond in Navaya's car and as they approached the entrance, Becca noticed how tight the security there was. Being heavily guarded by many huge muscular men, it was hard to get anything past them. They both took their seats, ones that were closer to the bar. There was low music playing in the background. The lights in the club were dim and from what she saw, the club had an upper wide balcony-like area which she assumed was meant for the VIPs; where only super and ultra-rich people sat. Her parents were super rich and had a lot of financial influence but she didn't consider their money hers. She preferred to make her own money, she wanted to make a name for herself, to make herself and her family proud.

As crazy as it might sound, she wanted to see a huge sum of money in her bank account and be able to beat her chest and say: 'Yes, I worked hard and made what's in there.'

In short, Becca was a very ambitious young woman, who wasn't afraid of going after her dreams. Her goals. That's why she was here, in New York, hustling to make a name for herself and to prove that she wasn't just some other spoiled rich kid.

Everything about the place screamed money!

They sat in the lower lounge, 'amongst the commoners ' as Navaya would say. After ordering their drinks from the bar, they started chatting about different random things while enjoying the background music. Well, at least Navaya seem to be enjoying herself, while Becca felt out of place. Like a lost kitten, she didn't belong there. Why did she even agree to come here again? No matter how fancy the place was, she still stuck out like a sore thumb. She didn't fit in, but for some reason, she felt a burning gaze behind her. A gaze so intense, she felt it boring holes through her.. She wanted to ignore it, she didn't want to turn around, but whoever it is, was looking intently at her with eyes that sent gazes too intense to ignore.
