As Feng Xuan requested, Qing Chen went to the meeting first. She hated to hassle their driver to come back and fetch her but she needed this to work. Today was her official welcome to The Kingly Empire and she needed it to be the best entrance ever.
She could feel the butterflies in her stomach just like her first day at school. She decided not to enroll this semester as she wanted to focus on the businesses and ending The Zookeeper. It would be just too much to force herself to even think about her professors and submitting term papers.
The meeting would happen at The Kingly Empire's building which was located in the heart of the city. The tall buildings rose up on either side of her and almost all the people were wearing smart suits or business attires.
She leaned against her seat, wondering if she had not been born in a rich family, what would she be doing in her life? Would she just wait for someone to come save her from the middle-class life or would she just stay in that class forever. She didn't think she would mind… she hoped she wouldn't.
She breathed out when the car finally stopped in a driveway and the car door was opened for her.

Qing Chen had been early in the meeting room. He pulled out the weekly reports of the hotels and motels and started reviewing them. He was the first one in there—even earlier than the assistant who had bought them their morning drinks. He had the pleasure of seeing her shyly place the cups around the table with shaking hands.
Finally the glass door started to open repeatedly as people came pouring in with loud voices and gushing words and laughs. But it all ended when they saw that Qing Chen was already at the head of the table. All of the shareholders were all older than he was but they were still embarrassed and bowed their heads as they rushed to their seats.
Qing Chen hated to be early in meetings as it wastes a lot of time waiting for them to be complete before they could start. On a normal day, he would stay in his office working until everyone else was seated in the room. But in this case, it was his wife who had requested it so he just had to bend.
But this could also be a huge advantage for him. The next time they would hold the meeting, everyone would be there earlier than he would be.
While they were waiting for the rest of the people, Qing Chen had finished the matters with the hotel. Then he pulled out the next files which were about his father's newest projects. At the bottom of the files were Feng Lizhao's signatures and beside it was the empty space where his signature should be. The name at the bottom was still his father's…
Unconsciously, he checked his phone and found that his grandmother had not yet sent a morning update. He checked his tracker up and found out that his wife was already within the property. He legibly signed his name, not even bothering to read the reports as this was his father's and his bestfriend's. Surely, they would not make anything that would be unbefitting for them.
Everyone else in the room was quiet. It had already been a few minutes since they were completed—except for Feng Xuan.
Someone actually had the nerve. "Qing Chen, where is your wife?" asked one man who had salt and pepper hair.
"Are you tired of waiting, Mr. Li? Maybe we should consider you no longer attend meetings… ever." He flicked an envelope close and eyed the man. "And it's Mr. Qing."
"Yes," the man answered, looking away, clearly embarrassed but still made a face like he could not believe Qing Chen asked to be called by his father's title. "Mr. Qing."
Since it was too quiet and the room was completely soundproof, they didn't hear Feng Xuan's heeled footsteps. It echoed throughout the hallway and heads peeked out of the hallways she had passed.
When Feng Xuan finally walked in, Qing Chen tried his best not to let out a chuckle. His lips could not help but smile when he saw that she was in a black pantsuit. The coat served as her top and hugged her slim frame. It fitted her like a glove.
Qing Chen saw his wife's handiwork on the waist part. On either side, there was a triangular cut held together by the slim belt.
Feng Xuan twirled, giving them a view of the two triangles on her back. "Am I in the right room?"
Qing Chen almost burst out laughing.
"Mrs. Qing," greeted the person by the door. "You're in the right room."
"Oh great." Her heels clicked on the floor, drawing attention to its red soles and spikes. She brightened up when she saw her husband. "There you are!"
Qing Chen gladly accepted the kiss on the cheek. Feng Xuan finally took her seat on his right side but he reached and pulled the chair beside him before he nodded to the secretary of the company.
"First things first, we welcome Mrs. Feng Xuan in the board of directors of The Kingly Empire and as the new Chief Financial Officer. May you contribute to this company's success."

Feng Xuan thought she would enjoy this meeting—just like a kid on their first day at school still eager to learn because they would get to use their new things—but it had not even been an hour and her mind was already flying on what she would decorate her room.
She had never been a fan of listening to other people talk, especially with business matters so she read ahead on the folder given to her and made marginal notes.
She bolted out of her seat as soon as it was done, dragging Qing Chen to the parking lot.
