Chapter 262 - He's Going To See The End Of It

The moment that the tracker had been activated, The Fox, The Badger, and the IT person boarded their plane and strapped up for the take off.

"Are you sure that we really should've done the poem?"

The Fox sighed. There were perks when you have an older man as your partner. There was a lot of advice that goes on. It was like having a second father and as much as fathers go, The Badger also had the tendency of becoming annoying.

"It's fine," The Fox replied and reclined the seat of the plane. "I read it to The Zookeeper. He knew I was exposing our location."

"But how could he agree to that?" The Badger said, truly curious and confused. "He barely gets out his room, much less his bed. What are we supposed to do when the Qings actually attacked us?"

The Fox also thought about that before he did the poem. Personally, he knew that The Zookeeper's condition had greatly improved. Maybe he was just still embarrassed to come out of his room. Being in a not so perfect state of health might make his people's faith in him waver. But it was not something The Fox could see happening. All the men in The Zoo were loyal to their boss. They would be too scared to say anything anyway.

There was really no point of holing up in his room. The Fox just also wanted The Zookeeper to get out of the comforts of his bedroom and show his face to the other people. Little did he know, not showing his face was the more probable reason for his people to rise up against him or to leave.

"He will get up," answered The Fox reassuringly. "He could not not get up. All of us are holding onto him. He chose this war with the Qings and he's going to see the end of it."

The Badger laughed. "And if he won't? What are you going to do?"

The Fox played with his seat belt, his mind slowing down. From the start, he did not care about Feng Xuan. Not even the Qing family. He only wanted one person. It was Wuming, the top assassin in the field as of the moment. He had not been in the radar for months now. If they weren't following the Qing family's activities, he wouldn't have known that Wuming was taking cheaper contracts.

He could easily hand over Wuming's name to the police and they would come and catch him and lock him up in isolation for the rest of his life. Or, they had too many friends in high positions that he would actually get released anyway. He would need the public to be able to make the government move—

He shook his head to clear his recent thoughts. It was too much hassle to even try to catch Wuming. For sure, the moment Wuming hears that someone was coming for him, he would already go into hiding and vanish forever.

Then, how was The Fox going to claim the top assassin's title?

He decided, "When we get back, I'm going to send them another message. It's taking too long." He wanted to meet his opponent so bad.

The Badger cleared his throat. "Up to you, kid."

He tapped the older man's belly. "You better shape up, partner. They're going to come soon."

"The sun rises in the west." Qing Lok pressed his fingertips to his forehead. It was almost 48 hours and still haven't had a clue on what the phrase meant.

"This is nuts," he whispered under his breath and closed his eyes. When he retired to his room last night, he didn't get to sleep. It was as if his mind kept on nudging him to get up because he knew he would not be able to catch a single wink of sleep if he hasn't cracked the code yet.

But he tried to sleep anyway. He closed his eyes but his mind was still running. When he woke up the next morning, all he felt was a pounding headache and that his eyes felt like someone had sprayed some perfume on them.

The door opened and a short while later, Qing Chen and Feng Xuan appeared on the doorway to the living room. "Any progress?" Qing Chen asked even though he already knew the answer. If there had been any, his brother would've called him already.

Qing Lok shook his head. "This is hard. Maybe we're looking too hard about this."

"Let's have some dinner first then we'll work on that."

While the couple prepared for dinner, Qing Lok went to the dining area and was already gathering spoonful of foods to his plate when something caught his eye. He ignored it at first as he thought it was probably a small insect but then it started moving down the kitchen counter were there was a paper bag of groceries.

Qing Lok quickly followed it, careful not to get in its line of vision and the movement of his shadow. It was quiet and looked like an underdeveloped spider with round corners but it had mechanical legs. He followed it around the dining area then to the kitchen before it found the hallway.

"Huh," thought Qing Lok, "maybe they don't have a blueprint of the house… or maybe it was because grandmother kept on renovating things that the ones they are no longer updated."

They were almost at the living room were everyone was when Qing Chen and Feng Xuan came back down. Qing Lok wildly gestured and mouthed "Quiet!" to the couple who looked confused until he pointed at the thing near his foot. The object stopped at the corner, like it was assessing what it can see. It took quite a while which made Qing Lok think that its vision was limited.

The object moved and disappeared under the couch.

He walked to the couple at the stairs. "They're spying on us."
