Qing Chen got home first. Feng Xuan had been working long hours ever since she got back to working on YANG. He was happy that she was finally finding rhythm within herself.
The huge german shepherd welcomed him home. The men guarding their house were in charge of the dog while they were at work. One of the worries he got when Feng Xuan wrote 'get a pet' on her list, was that the house would be a mess.
He was not that much of a fan of animals. If he was going to have a pet, he would rather have a cat. They clean themselves and they were not as smelly. He wouldn't have wanted to come home that would smell like dog piss and feces.
Surprisingly, their guards were taking good care of their home and the dog.
The night that Feng Xuan got it, she was still debating with herself on what she was going to name it. The following morning, she was calling it Scout.
Qing Chen got busy in the kitchen. It was only once in a blue moon that he gets to be alone and cook. It was about an hour when Feng Xuan entered the kitchen.
"Hey," she greeted, wrapping an arm around him from the back. "Is it almost done?"
"Yes," Qing Chen said and lowered the heat. "Set the table."
As expected, Feng Xuan opened up the conversation. "Your mother visited me earlier today."
"Yeah, I've heard," he said. Of course, one of his people told him about his wife's whereabouts. "Did you have fun?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure if you're going to agree with this, but I invited her to the show."
"You did what?"
"On YANG's Spring Collection Show."
Qing Chen started laughing. "I do hope you have a plan for that, wife."
"I'm trying to come up and think of one."
Qing Chen knew that his wife would do something like this. It was written all over her face when they left the Qing's residence. "I wish you luck on that."
"You're not going to help me, are you?"
Qing Chen shook his head and placed the food on the table. "You know I won't."

When Hao Suyin got back home, she found her husband in his office. He was not necessarily working all the time. He was taking a time off to focus on his health. But it was like it's ingrained in Qing Zihao that he could not not spend a whole day without looking over the reports about The Kingly Empire.
At some point, it gives him ease to know that his son was doing well managing everything up to this point. Business was as good as always even though they had been really distracted lately.
"I didn't really think that she had it in her," said Hao Suyin, leaning against the doorframe.
"Come again?" Qing Zihao asked. He was wiping some of the picture frames on his table. The room was immaculate. He was probably only doing that for the sake of doing something.
"Qing Chen's wife. Feng Xuan."
"What about her?"
"I went out to lunch with her." She stepped inside the room and inspected the bookshelf. Her husband had never been the person who was into reading stories. His shelves were filled with non-fiction and books that are about numbers and growing businesses.
For him, it made more sense than the complex emotions of humans who do crazy stupid things.
"Neither of you tried to poison each other?" her husband joked.
The corner of her lip quirked upwards. "Yeah, nothing of the sort. But…" she wiped her hands on the back of her jeans. "For a moment there I felt terrified of her."
Qing Zihao laughed out loud. These days, it was a rare moment to see his mouth open in happiness or glee. "What did she do?"
"She told me—oh wait, no. She commanded me to go their show. Get it? Commanded me."
Qing Zihao set down the frame that he was holding and stood next to his wife who was looking at the small pictures next to the books. There were pictures of their children in their childhood days. "You, terrified?"
"Yeah, I didn't think I was capable of feeling that either."
They moved sideways. There were graduation pictures. Some of them were taken on the beach. Some were overseas. Others were taken from parties. It was like a short summary of their lives.
On the next part of the shelves, that was where her face stopped showing. She was already "dead" during this time. There were fewer pictures. Not even Wuming were on them. It was the time that their family of five were reduced to three, even though none of them really passed away.
"I don't think that girl knows that she could come off really strong," she said. She stared at the wedding pictures of her second son and her beautiful wife next to him in the bright red dress. The huge diamond on her finger winked.
"It was like… I don't think she's conscious of it. The way her words came out… she said 'the least thing you can do is try'. It was like her anger was sewed into it but it was masked with a curly font in pink. Then she smiled…"Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-rose-married-the-ceo_15939261805465305/you-know-i-won't_52181524337972957 for visiting.
Hao Suyin shivered, remembering the way her daughter-in-law's eyes seemed to stare down at her that moment. Like some sort of vampire commanding a human to chop off their hand.
"Hmm," said her husband. "What can we expect? She's Lizhao's daughter."
"About that… do you know something about their family?"
Qing Zihao knew that she was not just asking about the basics of the other family. He knew that his wife was asking about the said family's secrets. He sighed. "That's something we shouldn't put our noses in."
"Why not?"
Qing Zihao walked away from the wedding picture. "You were not wrong to feel terrified of her. That girl is a monster."
