72 The Competition’s Results
The last segment of the perfume-making competition required the contestants to present their works anonymously. The host would then hand them over to the judges to give them a score. They would be ranked according to the total score of the three judges.
When He Miao put in her work, Zhou Nan kept following behind her, trying to see the number plate she stuck on the bottle.
Everyone’s number was randomly selected backstage and was not allowed to be disclosed. He Miao hid it well, and Zhou Nan could not find a chance to peek. She glared at her uncle, Zhou Heng, with hatred.
At the judges’ table, the host picked up the perfumes at random and placed them on the judges’ table. The judges, who had been indifferent and emotionless all this time, showed surprise at the same time when they smelled a perfume.
Zhou Heng frowned and gave a very low score on his notebook.
He knew his niece’s standard. This perfume would undoubtedly belong to her rival. Only if he reduced the score of this perfume would Zhou Nan have a chance of winning.
He Miao took in the expressions of the three judges, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes. It seemed like it was time to completely clean up the dregs of the perfume-making industry. How could such a person be a judge? It was simply ruining the industry’s integrity!
The results of the competition were announced on the big screen. He Miao’s score was in the middle, far behind Zhou Nan, who was far ahead of her.
Xu Meng’s heart, which had been put at ease because of He Miao’s outstanding performance in the first round, suddenly tensed up again when she saw this result.
Xu Heng looked at the results in disbelief. According to his experience, even if He Miao could not win the championship, she should not have done so badly.
Zhou Nan took a look at the results and walked to He Miao’s side with a smile. “Did you see that? This is the reality. Stop dreaming. I don’t want to see you in this industry in the future.”
The results of the competition were announced. Zhou Nan was first, while He Miao was only in the middle. This made many bosses, who had thought highly of her during the fragrance identifying stage, sigh.
It was a pity that this genius with a sensitive nose was not an expert in fragrance making. If she only knew how to smell but not how to make it, it would not benefit their company much.
For a moment, all the bosses had the idea of winning over Zhou Nan and giving up on He Miao.
Only one person was holding a dog, sitting on the second floor of the stands, staring at the girl on the stage with a burning gaze.
He turned to the staff member behind him. “Bring me He Miao’s results from the second round.”
The staff member bowed his head and went out to give some instructions. Soon, he returned with the report card he wanted.
The two full marks and one failed mark were very strange. He looked at the name of the judge who had failed her and coldly ordered, “Inform the backstage to put this report card on the big screen.”
In the competition, the judges were full of praise for Zhou Nan’s perfume. They had no doubt that the amazing perfume was made by her. After all, she had the highest score in the entire competition.
Zhou Nan humbly thanked them one by one. She turned around and saw He Miao, who was all alone at the edge of the stage. She picked up the microphone and said gleefully, “You may not know this, but I actually have a bet with Miss He.”
Her words piqued the interest of all the audience present. Zhou Nan was satisfied with everyone’s reaction. After she explained the contents of the bet, the whole audience gasped.
Pan Yue looked at Xu Heng, who was sitting calmly at the side, with dissatisfaction. “Why didn’t you take care of your student? Our school is going to be embarrassed. The principal will definitely criticize you when we get back.”
“I believe in my students,” Xu Heng replied indifferently.
Pan Yue pursed her lips and did not say anything else.
The whispers on the stage grew louder and louder. It was unknown who took the lead, but it actually set off a wave of people who wanted He Miao to announce her withdrawal from her university in public.
Zhou Nan walked to He Miao’s side with her head held high and her chest puffed out. She raised her eyebrows smugly. “Is our Miss He going back on her word? You’re the one who suggested this!”
Everyone’s eyes were focused on her, and there was no lack of sympathy and ridicule in their eyes. No one spoke up for her, and they were all waiting for this young student who did not know the immensity of heaven and earth to pay for her words.
He Miao calmly scanned the room, then his gaze stopped on the judges’ panel. “I would like to ask the three judges, which one did you think was the best work?”
