“Jing Yan.” He Miao lowered her eyes, her face expressionless, but her ears turned a suspicious pink. “If you don’t let go of me, I’ll never talk to you again.”
What a serious threat!
Jing Yan could not help but smile. He obediently let go of her hand and watched the little girl run out of the laboratory, leaving him with only her back view.
The next day, Mo Ying used some unknown method to pay He Miao’s money in one go. Then, she glared at her angrily, threatening to teach her a lesson.
He Miao took the money without a care and ordered a new batch of spices. She explained the reason through a live broadcast with Xu Meng. After apologizing to the customers who placed their orders, He Miao even promised to give a small sample of the next perfume as compensation.
The matter was finally settled. Although many people were still dissatisfied with this, fortunately, none of them asked for a refund, which allowed He Miao to heave a sigh of relief.
As the weekend approached, He Miao was used to Jing Yan coming to the laboratory to pick her up every day after school. So, she finished the perfume on the list early, stretched, and sat in the corner to wait for him.
She was reading the news on the internet in boredom when the door of the laboratory was suddenly pushed open.
He Miao knew that Jing Yan had arrived, so she started to pack up. “Why are you late today? Didn’t we agree to visit grandpa earlier?”
He Miao waited for a long time for a reply from the person behind her. A sense of uneasiness spread in her heart. She turned her head abruptly, but before she could see the face of the person behind her, a rough sack was placed over her head.
A strange fragrance entered her mind from the tip of her nose, and her consciousness instantly blurred. Before her body fell, she only had time to see the other party’s white sports shoes.
Mo Ying had been observing He Miao for a few days and finally found an opening.
Every day at this time, He Miao would be alone in the laboratory. This was her best chance to strike.
She waited for the right time and watched as He Miao’s orders was completed before she finally mustered the courage to make her move.
After that day, Mo Ying paid special attention to He Miao’s movements. Naturally, she saw the live stream of her and Xu Meng on the internet. She immediately hatched a plan.
As long as she stole the perfume that He Miao had worked so hard to make, He Miao would definitely break her promise to her customers again. By then, no one would ever buy from her again.
She wanted to see He Miao go bankrupt and lose all her money. She wanted her to have a taste of her pain!
Seeing He Miao fall to the ground, Mo Ying quickly stuffed the packed gift boxes into her backpack. Then, she carefully observed her surroundings. After making sure that there was no one around, she sneered and walked back to the dormitory without looking back.
Downstairs of the Computer Science Department, Jing Yan irritatedly shook off the girl who confessed to him last time and strode towards the building of the Fragrance and Perfumes Department.
All he wanted was to see He Miao as soon as possible. He did not even wait for the elevator and went straight to the floor where the laboratory was. However, he stopped when he saw the open door of the laboratory.
He subconsciously thought that He Miao had abandoned him and left first. The anger that suddenly rose in his heart made him want to turn around and leave, but he still walked to the door of the laboratory with a trace of hope.
As expected, there was no one inside.
Jing Yan smiled bitterly and turned to leave. His pupils dilated when he caught a glimpse of a finger peeking out from the corner of the table.
He rushed in in disbelief and picked up He Miao, who was sprawled on the ground with a rough gunny sack still covering her head, calling her name anxiously.
Without the pungent smell of anesthesia, He Miao finally woke up. She opened her dazed eyes and looked at the handsome face in front of her. Suddenly, she grinned and said, “Jing Yan, why are you so late?”
“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault.” Jing Yan carried He Miao and was about to take her to the hospital.
He Miao, however, pulled on his sleeve lightly. The effects of the medicine had not completely worn off. She mustered all her strength to raise her head to look at the table. The place where the perfume should have been placed was now empty.
She laughed bitterly and buried her head in his arms again. She was like a pet who had been wronged and was complaining to its owner. “Don’t go back yet. I have to go and get my things back.”
“Your health is more important.” Jing Yan carried her to the parking lot in disagreement.
He Miao struggled to get off him. “Either you take me there, or you put me down and let me go by myself.”
Jing Yan could not argue with her and could only sigh helplessly. “Where are your things? Who did this?”
“Mo Ying,” He Miao furrowed her brows, a cold glint in her eyes.
Before she fainted, she had clearly seen the pair of shoes that Mo Ying usually wore.
Jing Yan nodded in understanding. He held the light girl in his arms tightly, walked to the car without a word, and stuffed her in.
“What are you doing? I’m going to find her, that batch of goods is very important to me!” He Miao refused to listen to him. She opened the car door and wanted to leave by herself.
With one hand on the roof of the car and the other on He Miao’s shoulder, Jing Yan’s eyes were brewing with a blizzard. “Listen to me. I’ll get Mu Xiao to send you to the hospital. Leave the goods to me.”
