When the crowd heard this, they all tried to hold back their laughter. They stole a glance at He Miao’s expression and saw that she could not help but laugh out loud. Only then did they finally dare to joke with her without any worry.

When He Miao first joined the class, many of her classmates wanted to get close to her because of her outstanding appearance. However, not only did she win the fragrance-making competition, but she also became a well-known celebrity because of a short drama. They did not dare to get close to her anymore.

Today however, He Miao was acting like a normal classmate, and because of her own honor, she had put on an air of superiority. Those who wanted to get close to her were encouraged.

In the second half of the birthday party, almost all of his classmates were gathered around He Miao, listening to her talk about her experience in making perfumes. Even the real protagonist, Li Ming, was ignored by everyone.

Xu Meng looked at Li Ming, who was sitting at the periphery and watching He Miao attentively. She quietly moved to his side and said, “Class rep, why don’t we take a photo together? I work at the school’s radio station. I can help to promote our department.”

“Alright.” Li Ming did not suspect anything and let Xu Meng take him to the corridor to take photos.

Xu Meng took the opportunity to take a lot of photos and even boldly suggested to record a short video with Li Ming. “Class rep, why don’t you say ‘I love you, Fragrance and Perfumes Department? I’ll record it, okay?”

“Alright,” he said. Li Ming said this in front of the camera with a bright smile as per her request. His eyes unconsciously glanced at the girl who was holding the mobile phone in front of him.

Xu Meng’s heart was beating fast as she put away her phone. She had to edit the sentence “I love you” just now, as if he had said it to her personally.

When the two of them returned to the banquet hall, they found that their classmates were looking at them with interest. The bolder student asked with a smirk, “What were you two secretly doing just now?”

As soon as he said this, everyone started to make a fuss.

Li Ming pretended to glance at He Miao unintentionally and quickly explained in a gentle voice, “Just now, Xu Meng said that she wanted to take a set of photos for the broadcast station’s publicity. I just went to help.”

The students sneered in disappointment and picked up their glasses to drink again.

He Miao looked at Xu Meng’s blushing face, amused. “How is it? Looking at your appearance, you must have gained a lot, right?”

“What a great harvest!” Xu Meng whispered into He Miao’s ear, “The class rep is so handsome!”

“As long as you’re happy.” He Miao looked at Xu Meng’s infatuated gaze as she looked at Li Ming and suddenly remembered that a certain someone seemed to often look at her with this kind of gaze.

She did not know what he was doing right now, or if he was still working overtime.

He Miao admitted that she missed him a little. She still remembered her promise to Jing Yan, so she picked up her phone and sent him a full stop in a panic.

Jing Yan was in the meeting room, listening to the manager’s report on work in front of the big screen with a blank expression. Suddenly, he saw his phone screen light up. He picked it up and saw who sent the message, and his indifferent eyes lit up instantly.

“President Jing,” The manager looked at Jing Yan, who had always been expressionless, and suddenly showed a different expression. He thought that what he said had moved him, so he quickly rubbed his hands in joy and said, “Are you going to agree to my proposal for this project?”

“I don’t agree.” Jing Yan’s simple words put out the fire that had just risen in the manager’s heart.

He picked up his phone and stood up first, ignoring the senior leaders behind him. His cold gaze swept across their faces. “If you try to fool me with such a flawed plan again in meetings in the future, you’ll get your final salary and leave as soon as possible.”

Back in the top-floor office, Jing Yan took out his phone and called He Miao excitedly.

This was the first time he had received a message from He Miao. It was a simple punctuation mark, but he knew what it meant.

He Miao was saying that she was thinking about him right now!

“Jing Yan?” He Miao walked to a corner and covered his other ear to answer the call.

“Where are you? What’s with the noise?” Jing Yan frowned unhappily. Hearing the man’s high-spirited argument, which was obviously caused by alcohol, he immediately said unhappily, “Didn’t you say you were going shopping with Xu Meng? Where did you guys go?”

“Today is Li Ming’s birthday.” He Miao explained.

“What right do you have to go to that guy’s birthday!” Jing Yan was furious when he heard Li Ming’s name. He still remembered how this man and his sister had lured He Miao to the amusement park while he was away.

“Li Ming is the class representative. He invited the whole class together, so I couldn’t not come.” He Miao patiently explained to him, but then she suddenly realized that there was no need to explain so clearly.

Hearing this, Jing Yan’s angry tone softened a little. “So, Xu Meng is here too?”

“Yes.”

Jing Yan tried to scare He Miao. “Then you have to remember what I told you last time. Don’t get too close to Li Ming, or Xu Meng will have a falling out with you.”
