192 Coaxing Her To Be Happy
When she got home, someone was already waiting for her at the foot of the building. He Miao recognized that person. He was Jing Yan’s Secretary, Chen Zhao.
When Chen Zhao finally saw He Miao, he quickly handed over the thermos. “This is the dinner that President Jing prepared for you.”
“Thank you,” she said. He Miao looked at his thin body, which was shivering from the cold, and felt bad for him. “Why don’t you come to my house to warm up before you leave?”
“Can I really?” Chen Zhao nodded in surprise. “Thank you, Miss He.”
It was getting colder and colder outside. Even if he turned on the heater in the car, it would not help. Moreover, the car was parked a little far from the building. He was afraid of missing He Miao, so he could only wait downstairs. His hands and feet were frozen stiff.
He Miao led him into the house and poured him a cup of hot tea to warm his hands.
Chen Zhao hurriedly thanked her and entered the house. His cold body was hit by the hot air and shivered.
He Miao could tell that he was cold, so she took out a blanket that she did not use much and handed it to him. “Use it first. Tell Jing Yan that he doesn’t need to send me dinner in the future. I can make it myself.”
“But this is President Jing’s kind intention.” Chen Zhao was worried that President Jing would get angry if he knew, so he quickly explained, “And I’m fine. I just didn’t expect the temperature to drop so suddenly tonight. I’ll just wear more layers tomorrow.”
“Why didn’t he come himself?” He Miao took a sip of hot tea and asked casually.
She did not remember when it started, but Jing Yan would send someone to deliver dinner every night, but he had never been there.
“President Jing is busy with work. He is still working overtime at this time.” Chen Zhao covered for his CEO without thinking. Jing Yan had left a long time ago, and no one picked up the phone. He could not tell He Miao about this, though, in case she overthought it.
“Oh,” He Miao replied indifferently. She opened the thermos with an indifferent expression and looked at the steaming food inside. “You haven’t eaten, have you? Do you want to eat together?”
“No, no, no. I’ll go back and eat by myself.” Chen Zhao waved his hands. He did not dare to have dinner with Miss He. The dinner was prepared by a nutritionist Jing Yan had hired for her.
If Jing Yan knew about this, he would probably fire him the next day.
It was already very late. Chen Zhao felt that it was not appropriate for him to stay any longer, so he got up and left.
However, before he closed the door, he felt that Miss He’s dog had a lot of resentment towards him. From the moment he entered the door to the moment he left, it had been staring at him, making his scalp numb.
After He Miao sent Chen Zhao off, she sat back on the sofa and continued to eat the food in her bowl. She poured some dog food for Onion, but it refused to eat a single bite. It jumped to her side and rubbed its dog head against her thigh.
“Onion, don’t mess around. I’m eating.” He Miao said as she pushed its head away. She took a few more mouthfuls, but she could not taste the food. After barely filling her stomach, she put down everything, got up, washed the thermos, and put it on the table.
Jing Yan sat on the sofa and watched as He Miao walked into the bedroom in a daze. He quickly jogged after her.
He did not know what had happened to He Miao that night, but his instincts told him that she was in a bad mood. That unhappiness was written all over her face.
It was just that he could not open his mouth to speak now, so he could only roll around her like a spoiled child, using his stupid behavior to make her happy.
He Miao’s lips curved into a smile as she reached out to stroke its soft little belly. She suddenly thought of something, and her fingertips trembled slightly as she muttered to himself, “What did he say to He Wei today? And you’re smiling so happily?”
He Wei?
Jing Yan’s head was full of questions. It was not until he remembered that he had indeed met He Wei briefly at the auction this afternoon, and that there must have been a lot of media at the auction that he started barking uneasily.
Could it be that the media was spreading rumors about him and He Wei? Or was He Wei deliberately acting and all of this was a trap set by He Wei?
“It’s probably both,” Jing Yan thought, anger rising in his heart. However, the only thing he could do now was to pacify He Miao as soon as possible.
He did not want her to be angry over something that did not make sense. His girl should be happy and do what she liked without worry.
He could not become her worry.
Jing Yan stood up and obediently lay on He Miao’s body. His little tongue softly licked her chin, and his little claws patted her shoulders to comfort her.
He Miao was tickled by its licking and gently pushed Onion away. She cupped its head and pouted. “I’ll ask him when he comes back later! If I’m not satisfied with his explanation, I’ll skin him alive!”
Jing Yan could not help but widen his eyes. He had never known He Miao would be so overbearing towards him. She was so overbearing that he claimed him as his own and would not allow anyone to covet him, which made him feel sweet.
The feeling of mutual love was too wonderful. Jing Yan accompanied He Miao like an immortal until he turned back into himself. When he saw the photo he had just received on his phone, his heart was suddenly pulled from the air to the bottom of the valley.
