235 Saving A Life
The man laughed coldly, squatted down, and pinched He Miao’s chin. He glared at her and said, “You’re so ignorant that you don’t even know me. Do you still remember the person with the online name Weiwei Yixiao?”
“What?” He Miao furrowed her brows in confusion. She had not expected this person to suddenly mention his online name to her. She shook her head in surprise. “I don’t pay attention to the things on the internet, Weiwei… You’re a fan of He Wei?”
“Shut up!” The man’s eyes widened in hatred and he said angrily, “You’re just an illegitimate daughter who can’t see the light of day. How dare you call my goddess by her name? Do you deserve to call my goddess by her name? You’re not even worthy of carrying her shoes!”
He Miao leaned back slightly on the chair, trying to make herself more comfortable. Then, she panted heavily, closed her eyes, and smiled coldly. “Did she ask you to do this?”
“Don’t you dare slander my goddess again!” The man looked at He Miao’s pale face in disgust. The more he looked at her, the more he felt that she was like the evil illegitimate daughter in the novels. He said in disgust, “I brought you here to warn you not to slander my goddess on the internet. As long as you delete that post and post a public apology to my goddess, I’ll let you go.”
He Miao laughed soundlessly. She opened her beautiful eyes and looked at him. “Then help me up first. How am I supposed to delete the post in this state?”
The man stared at her silently for a moment, as if he was judging whether her words were credible or not.
Noticing the wound on her shoulder that was still bleeding, the man frowned and said impatiently, “I can let you get up, but you have to promise me that you will do as I say. Otherwise, I have countless ways to make you wish you were dead!”
“I’m already in your hands, what are you worried about?” He Miao leaned against the back of her chair weakly and looked at him from the corner of her eyes.
The man thought that her words made sense. Moreover, He Miao was still injured quite badly. It was better for her to complete her task according to his request and send her away as soon as possible. If something really happened later, he would have to bear a life on his back.
He Miao was straightened along with the chair by the man. Her shoulders and arms were in so much pain that she gasped, but she did not shed a single tear.
The only thing on her mind was the dying Onion. If she wasted any more time with the man, she was afraid that Onion would not be able to survive.
She could tell that the man did not really want to take her life. As long as there was no danger, she would do as he said. She had to leave this place as soon as possible and bring Onion to the vet for treatment.
The man fumbled for her phone in her pocket and asked her to tell him the password to unlock the screen. Then, he opened the social media app and realized that He Miao did not have an account for this app at all.
He asked in shock, “Where’s your account? Are you trying to play me?”
“No.” He Miao shook her head helplessly. “My account has always been managed by a friend. It’s not with me, but you can register a new account. Just treat it as me opening an account.”
The man fiddled with her phone with suspicion and finally opened an account with He Miao’s information. He was immediately overjoyed. He helped her write a post to admit that she was the illegitimate daughter and apologize to He Wei. He was about to press the send button when the door was suddenly kicked open from the outside. A group of people swarmed into the room with a gust of cold wind.
The leader, Jing Yan, kicked the man who was still in a daze away. When he saw He Miao covered in blood, his eyes turned red. “Take him down!”
Behind him, the bodyguards hired by the Jing family swarmed in and pressed the man to the ground. They snatched his phone and handed it to Jing Yan.
Jing Yan did not have time to pay attention to him, for He Miao was the only person in his mind.
He knelt on one knee and untied the rope on He Miao. He carefully carried her in his arms to avoid touching her wound, then carried her and rushed out of the room.
The wound caused by the scissors was too deep, and she had to be sent to the hospital immediately. There was no time to waste, or he would immediately take the man’s life!
When He Miao saw that Jing Yan had arrived, she was both surprised and a little glad that she had survived the disaster. A faint smile appeared on her lips, and her tensed body finally relaxed. Her vision started to turn dark again.
Before she completely lost consciousness, He Miao used her other intact hand to tug at his clothes, and she opened her mouth to say something.
Although she did not say anything, Jing Yan understood what she meant. Without stopping, he ordered Chen Zhao, “Send the dog to the vet for emergency treatment. As for that man, break both his hands and throw him into the police station.”
“Yes!” Chen Zhao knew the severity of the situation and immediately ordered the bodyguards to follow Jing Yan’s orders.
He Miao wanted to stop him, but she really did not have the strength to speak. Suddenly, her tense nerves relaxed, and she only felt that her body was abnormally tired. She leaned into his arms and finally closed her eyes weakly.
