27 The Soul World 1

The next day, Yang Guifei decided to look around the Soul World. When she first arrived, she didn't get the chance to explore, only diving right into cultivation. Looking around from where she currently stood, her line of sight was clouded by nothing but endless grass fields. There didn't seem to be any kind of dead-end, almost as if the world was going in a continuous loop. She only remembered that there were some structures nearby where she first appeared. Seeing that it wouldn't be of use to just go around on her own, she called out to the small child for guidance.

"Little Feng!"

In a flash, Little Feng appeared in front of her, curious as to why his master had called him.

"Can you give me a tour of the Soul World? I want to fully grasp what I'm working with"

The little boy couldn't be any happier at her request! If there was something he knew more about than anyone, it was absolutely about the Soul World. Who else could know so much when they've been literally living there for thousands of years.

"Of course, master!! Leave it to Little Feng!!"

He puffed out his chest in a boastful manner. And so the tour begun.

The first thing Little Feng lead Yang Guifei to was a large building, it looked grand from the outside and Yang Guifei felt almost intimidated by the seer aura it radiated.

Entering the building, she was introduced to a long corridor ahead. The whole building seemed to have four rooms. Two on each side of the hall.

"What is this building?"

She asked, going down the hall, yet stopped once reaching the end then made her way back up to the front.

"This building is called the Mastery Hall, each room contains its own profession and equipment paired with said profession."

He opened the door to the first room on the left, in which released a calm aroma of herbs and medicine.

"For example, this is the Physicians Chamber"

The door fully opened revealing a large room inside, the walls were lined with shelves and cabinets. There were a couple of wooden sideboards on both sides of the room, with unidentified herbs resting ontop of them. In the centre of all things, there stood a single table with a box laying open.

Upon closer inspection, there sat a full set of needles used for acupuncture. Yang Guifei picked one up and twisted it around her finger before setting it back down. A small hum of approval leaving her lips. She turned back to face Little Feng. With a new glint in her eyes, she asked,

"Is there anything else besides these needles in here?"

"Ah! Yes! If you open any of these sideboards or cabinets, you'll find them to be stacked with various herbs and ingredients needed for creating medicine. You'll find some other equipment used to crush the herbs and for carrying out any other medical treatment."

As to his words, Little Feng wasn't lying. Yang Guifei opened a pair of cabinets and the strong smell of herbs hit her hard. Taking one out, she examined it.

"Incredible... Such a high quality herb! This is rich with spiritual energy, isn't it? I can sense it"

Yang Guifei silently gushed over the amount of top quality ingredients there were, it was as if she had won the jackpot!

"You're right, master! I've been growing these crops here in the Soul World for many years. Their quality is ten times better than those grown anywhere else in the outside world. Our crops here are packed full of spiritual energy! Leaving it even more valuable, and using them for pill refining will effect the quality pills as well!! "

The boy boasted proudly. 'Ah, it's like hearing an advertisement for a product..' Yang Guifei thought to herself as she zoned out the rest of Little Feng's boastful comments.

"Alright, alright."

She started, trying to calm down the boy, but because of her stone cold face, she only ended up scaring him instead. Yang Guifei stepped out of the Physicians Chamber, with Little Feng following close behind her.

"Since that's the Physicians Chamber, does that mean that the other remaining rooms have something similar to this?"

The female questioned in which Little Feng nodded, telling her that her guess was right.

"Yes, master. The next door after the Physicians Chamber is the Beast Chamber"

"Beast Chamber? What could you possibly have in there which could be related to that?"

"Well actually, there's nothing much inside there. Mainly just old texts and books that the old masters used or recorded about beast taming. For beast taming, you mostly go out in the wild to do that so it's not exactly something you can store away or practice in a single room."

Yang Guifei nodded and decided to not go in the Beast Chamber for now, seeing as it didn't have much to look at in the first place.

"What's the last two on the right?"

She pointed to the two doors on the right side of the building, while walking closer towards that end of the hall.

"Oh! The first door on the right is the Alchemist Chamber while the other is the Armament Chamber. Alot of my old masters were Alchemists!"

"I see, let's go take a look then"

Opening the door to the Alchemist Chamber, there stood a grand furnace in the centre of it all. It was the first thing that caught Yang Guifei's eye when she entered.

Walking towards it, she began inspecting the hunk of iron. Seeing her curiosity, Little Feng decided to come in and explain.

"Master, this here is the furnace that my old masters used to refine pills. It may not be the best of quality but it gets the job done and it's quite durable!"

Yang Guifei hummed in thought. 'Refining pills, huh? That could be useful to me...' she extended a finger and wiped the outer wall of the furnace, leaving a print of dust on her finger. 'I used to work with Japanese medicine because of my father's side of the family, but my chinese mother had me drabble in Chinese medicine as well...if I want to put those skills to work then I need to get this furnace cleaned first and for most.'

"Just like in the Physicians Chamber, there's herbs here as well that can be used for pill refining!"

Yang Guifei trusted his words and didn't bother to check the boxes and drawers scattered around the place. Instead, she left the room only to be face to face with the last door, yet to be opened.

"And finally the Armament Chamber! Come in, master!"

Once opened, the room was quite dusty. There was an Armament furnace in the corner, alongside a large anvil on a stand. On the walls were various tools used by blacksmiths and the like. A large sideboard made of stone engraved itself on the left side of the room.

Yang Guifei went over to open it, to only be greeted by various precious materials, all ranging from low to high quality. It was truly a sight to behold. Yang Guifei couldn't help but become excited by it, as he former daughter of a yakuza head, seeing so many amazing materials used for armament refining was quite a nice surprise for her. The female couldn't stop her mind from wondering about all the things she would create. The deceased yazuka in her began to rise up and blaze with unyielding passion.

Snapping her head out of such 'childish' thoughts, Yang Guifei hurried out the room, much to Little Feng's surprise. It was then that Yang Guifei decided to send a small prayer of thanks to the gods above later.
