"Xiaye?" he called out her name and coughed several times as he sat up in the bed.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Xi Xiaye instantly realized that something was wrong with his voice as he sounded like he had a cold. The man was usually pretty susceptible to getting sick.

Mu Yuchen coughed several times again before he replied, "I'm okay. It's just a little cold. I've almost recovered."

"Your body is getting frail. I told you to take care of yourself." Xi Xiaye frowned.

"It's my fault. I'm sorry!" the man quickly admitted his mistake. He paused before asking, "How're our sons?"

"They are doing great. Xiao Rui keeps asking when you'll be back while Xiao Cheng always looks around at night, probably waiting for you. He's starting to recognize faces now. The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon, and so is the National Day…"

"Bring the children out and have fun during the holidays."

"But…" Xi Xiaye wanted to say something else, but she was reminded about what happened that night. "Mr. Mu, about Gu Lingsha and Qi Feng...Su Chen told me that…"

"It's all good as long as you're fine. You shouldn't have to worry so much…" the man interrupted Xi Xiaye's sentence halfway. He did not want her to know what methods he used.

"You…" Xi Xiaye spoke quietly.

"I mean, let the past stay in the past. Just leave them be if it doesn't concern you. Don't always keep it in your heart. Surely Qi Feng has many ways to make it hard for you to decline his invitation, but you have to be vigilant at all times. You might have fallen into his trap if Qi Lei hadn't informed me."

"Am I really that stupid from your perspective?" Xi Xiaye frowned unhappily.

"Honestly, yes," he replied.

"Then, why did you marry me?"

"Because...you're pretty…" a certain someone said something extremely embarrassing with a straight face.

Xi Xiaye chuckled, but then she figured out it did not sound right. She was not sure if she should be angry that he was looking down on her, or to be happy that he complimented her looks.

"I married you because I think you're good-looking too…"

"You finally speak the truth! Alright, you should head to bed soon. It's a weekend tomorrow. Rest well."

"You take care too. Don't overexert yourself."

"I'll be sure to follow your instructions. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Mr. Mu…"

In contrast to Xi Xiaye's peaceful night, Gu Lingsha was having a hard time falling asleep.

She realized that she was at the police station when she regained consciousness. The police were interrogating her like she was some criminal. Only then did she find out what happened.

"I don't know anything! These aren't mine! I'm being framed! Do you hear me? I suggest you let me go right away or you won't be able to bear the consequences!" Gu Lingsha glared at the officers as she had a cold expression on her face.

"Ms. Gu, I suggest you be cooperative with us. We found these in your bag, and this is your blood test, so what else do you have to say?"

"I didn't take drugs! Believe it or not, these aren't mine! I want to leave right now. Let me go!" Gu Lingsha stood up angrily as she spoke.

"I'm afraid we can't let you go with these as evidence." The police officer was being really strict.

Gu Lingsha was extremely angry, and had no idea what happened!

Who had planned all this to frame her? She could sense that Qi Feng wanted to prove something to her, but why was she being framed right now? Should it not be Xi Xiaye?

"Let me out!" she struggled as the officer grabbed her shoulder.

"Sit down!"

"It's not me! Let me out! I want to see my husband. I won't answer any of your questions! I want a lawyer! I want to see my husband! Do you hear me? Do you even know who I am? How dare you treat me like this?!" Gu Lingsha was getting worked up.

"You'll see them, but I suggest you tell us the truth or you'll be very sorry for it!"

"I told you it's not mine! Not mine! You idiots are trying to frame me! Get your superior here. You guys have no right to talk to me. I want to see your superior!" Gu Lingsha slammed the table angrily.

The officers traded glances shortly before they left the room, leaving her alone.

She still felt dizzy at the moment, especially after getting worked up like that. She felt exhausted.

What happened?

Why her?

Why her?

Xi Xiaye should be the one to learn her lesson. Did something go wrong or…

Did Qi Feng this on purpose?

Qi Feng had smiled at Xi Xiaye frequently over dinner although they were talking about work the whole time. Things were suspiciously smooth between them.

Xi Xiaye was Mu Yuchen's woman, and she knew very well how much Qi Feng hated Mu Yuchen. He was biased towards Xi Xiaye!

Gu Lingsha also thought that Xi Xiaye's calm manner during dinner was odd. It was as if she was not worried at all which she should have been very cautious about.

Why was Qi Feng not here yet?

As Gu Lingsha was deep in her thoughts, she felt afraid and anxious. She took several deep breaths as her whole body shuddered…
