Chapter 252 - War (Part-3)

Complete darkness had enveloped inside the house. Men wore dark adaptor goggles on their eyes to scan the interior of the house.

Everything seemed to be properly arranged inside the house as if no one had been living here and that was very unusual. 

And yes, they were right because in the next moment,

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

On the spur of the moment, the firing started from above. It seemed that Xin Chao and others decided to be loyal towards Markus till the end.

The men in the down were quick enough to hide and shoot back.

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

In the quiet jungle, the sound of gunshots was echoing but ended up being muffled by the thick foliage of the forest trees such that the outside world didn't know that war had begun in the deep center of the forest.

Many men were dying, some were getting shot on their bodies but still, they continued to fight back. The smell of blood and bullets escalated.

"We need to go up." Mo Jiang said because being at a lower elevation than their enemies, brought his team a disadvantage.

Mo Jiang had a higher number of men compared to Markus which put him in the lead position to win against Markus but seeing the rate at which his men had been dying, the situation could be changed.

Thus, before it was too late, Mo Jiang immediately made a decision but the problem was that the stairs were far away and there was nothing around which they could hide behind.

"I will cover up for you." Liu Juan was prompted to help as she also understood their disadvantaged position.

Michael was on the other side, so he couldn't help.

"No, I will cover up for you." Mo Jiang said after a thought which perturbed Liu Juan as who would cover-up, there was a high chance that he/she would die.

"But..." Of course, she couldn't agree with his suggestion but Mo Jiang didn't give her a chance to protest.

"It's my order. Do it as I say." Mo Jiang commanded and instantly stood up in front of Liu Juan.

The men above saw Mo Jiang and started firing towards him.

Liu Juan was smart enough and didn't risk Mo Jiang's life in the argument. She immediately stood up and scuttled off.

Mo Jiang was following after her and firing back so that no bullet passed through him towards Liu Juan.

Fortunately, Si Li's men were shrewd enough to stand up to cover Mo Jiang up. He was the leader and partner of their boss, Si Li, so it was their duty to protect Mo Jiang even if no one had given an order to them.

Mo Jiang and Liu Juan took this chance and immediately strode upstairs while downstairs, Si Li's two men got shot and lost their lives.

Once Mo Jiang and Liu Juan reached up. They took the charge and started killing Markus's men.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

One after another men fell down to death which eased the situation downstairs as soon, Si Li's men also started coming up.

Mo Jiang and Liu Juan didn't stop as their main target was Markus.

This war would continue until Markus was dead.

Then at the spur, Xin Chao came in front of them.

He was holding a gun pointed towards them. Mo Jiang and Liu Juan also pointed their guns at Xin Chao but neither of them had fired.

"I will handle him." Liu Juan said. There was one thing which Liu Juan badly wanted to do and that was to defeat Xin Chao.

Mo Jiang didn't rebut her suggestion this time. Somehow, he understood Liu Juan, so he left Liu Juan to handle Xin Chao and went to defeat his enemy, Markus.

"I never thought you would betray us." Xin Chao chimed while continuing to point the gun at her.

"You didn't leave any other choice for me." Liu Juan calmly replied. Her face was hidden under a mask.

"But you will never be able to defeat me." Xin Chao arrogantly said and the hatred for her could be easily sensed in his voice.

"Let's see." Liu Juan dropped her gun and f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y marched towards Xin Chao.

Xin Chao wasn't just standing in his place to welcome her attack. He also dropped his gun and attacked her instead.

'Thud.'

In a moment, Liu Juan was thrown down on her back and she g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain.

"I told you, you will never be able to defeat me. Come!" Xin Chao challenged her.

"We will see." Liu Juan removed the mask from her face and pounced back.

This time, Liu Juan wasn't knocked down easily. Instead, she gave a tough time to Xin Chao by countering his every attack to the point that Xin Chao budged back.

"You have underestimated me." Liu Juan snorted. In retort, she heard him say, "I don't think so."

Xin Chao said and continued to attack her and she fought back with a resolve that she wouldn't lose.

Meanwhile, Mo Jiang killed all Markus's men and Michael brought his men up as he couldn't wait to kill Markus and take the position of King.

Seeing the victory so close to his eyes, was enough to fill his entire being with ardor.

After checking all the rooms, Mo Jiang and Michael finally found the person they were looking for so desperately.

Markus was standing in front of the window, watching the quiet night view of his life. Perhaps, this was the last quietness of his convulsive life.

A subtle smile appeared on his lips when he heard the sound of footsteps behind him.

He calmly turned around and found Mo Jiang and Michael standing in front of him.

"You have lost this war, Markus. We have killed all your men. Surrender to us, and we might spare your life." Michael haughty said. 

Hearing him, Markus couldn't help but laugh out loud.
