Chapter 257 - The Real Truth (Part-4)

Meanwhile, on the other side, Liu Juan's efforts had managed to bring back Mo Jiang's life but he had slipped into a coma that now no one knew when he would wake up.

Besides, many men of Si Li's team had died. Now Si Li had very little manpower which put him in a disadvantageous position along with Mo Jiang's absence and Markus's escape which he hadn't anticipated and planned for.

Thus, there were many people who were waiting for this opportunity to strike on Si Li and Mo Jiang. Now that the time had come, they took the action on Si Li and Mo Jiang's team by attacking them.

However, Si Li wasn't someone who could be defeated easily. Hence, he had hid Mo Jiang in his private villa along with a team of doctors to ensure the safety of his friend and used his team and Mo Jiang's team to fight back.

Although the things were rough, he knew he would deal with it.

Si Yan and Mo Jinnan tried to help him but he had forbidden them as he had promised Mo Jiang and Madam Si to never involve Mo Jiang and Si Yan in the dark world of the underworld.

However, day by day, the power of enemies had been increasing along with their number, and trouble for Si Li had also been increasing.

Thus to help him, God showed mercy and Mo Jiang woke up from the coma after a month.

But the first person he was concerned about was, "Where is Liu Juan?"

Mo Jinnan's heart sank hearing this. He had been worried about his brother all this time and his brother was worried about someone else.

Because of Liu Juan, his brother was hurt so it was obvious for Mo Jinnan to hate Liu Juan that was why he convinced Si Li to send Liu Juan to the prison where she had been dying as per the latest news he had received.

All of sudden, all the attention that he wanted from Mo Jiang was given to Liu Juan.

Obviously, Mo Jinnan would feel envious, but Mo Jiang failed to notice that.

"I am asking you, where is she?" Mo Jiang asked in a weak voice.

"Li has sent her to prison." Mo Jinnan grumpily replied.

"What?"

Back to prison where Liu Juan and Liu Ruolan were locked away.

Liu Juan's health was deteriorating and no one bothered about it, neither Liu Ruolan nor anyone else.

In fact, seeing Liu Juan's condition, Liu Ruolan's old arrogance had come back and the smile wasn't leaving from her lips.

Now she was thinking that Mo Jiang was right about Liu Ruolan. Perhaps, Liu Ruolan wasn't the girl who she used to be.

A kind girl who always helped every person at the time of need, even if someone had hurt her before.

Her big sister was a kind, gentle, and warm-hearted girl, and the girl in front of her wasn't her big sister anymore. Liu Ruolan was now seeing how Liu Juan was dying but she never offered her hand towards Liu Juan; instead, she seemed to be more delightful. It wasn't that Liu Juan wanted to live but her heart ached realizing the fact that she had lost her big sister long ago.   

The only family she had and for whom she had been living until now. All her suffering, sacrifices, pain, tears had gone into vain.

Now she also had a regret. A regret to involve Mo Jiang in her misery. If she didn't come in his life then perhaps he would have been living his current life. Although Liu Juan knew that his life wasn't good, at least he was alive.

Now Liu Juan didn't even know where was he? And was he alive?

Perhaps not.

Otherwise, he would be here with her.

Recalling his dead face, Liu Juan's heart ached and tears rolled from her eyes.

Oblivious to her agony, Liu Ruolan smiled seeing Liu Juan's tears.

"What a pity to see my little sister crying for her own death." Liu Ruolan sat on the floor where her eyes continued to stare at Liu Juan's miserable condition. "...But you know what?...you deserve it! You should have died a long time ago!" Liu Ruolan's voice turned cold while hatred for Liu Juan didn't dwindle in her eyes.

Hearing her big sister--no-no-Liu Ruolan's words(she wasn't her big sister anymore), Liu Juan smiled in self-pity. "You--are right. I should have died a long time ago but I didn't...do you want to know why?" Liu Juan looked at Liu Ruolan, now no one could see love and care for Liu Ruolan in Liu Juan's eyes.

Liu Ruolan's brow frowned at Liu Juan when Liu Juan uttered the words. "Because of you!"

Perhaps, the time had arrived when Liu Juan should tell Liu Ruolan the real truth why she didn't come that night to save Liu Ruolan from Mr. Jin.

Previously, Liu Juan always worried about hurting her big sister's feelings but now she wasn't afraid anymore.

Liu Juan didn't wait to hear Liu Ruolan's reply and continued to say while retreating her stare from Liu Ruolan to look up at the ceiling and the flashback of all her miserable days replayed in her mind as if everything had happened just yesterday. "You always hate me because I didn't come to save you back then. Do you want to know why?"

"You already told me!" Liu Ruolan snapped as she didn't want to hear about Liu Jaun's betrayal.

"But that wasn't true. The truth is...That night, I...I ran to get help for you but…" Liu Juan started telling the real truth to Liu Ruolan.
