Chapter 297 - Birth(Part-1)

Nine months later.

The last nine months passed in a blink of an eye. Mo Jiang and Liu Juan could never imagine that their life could turn into normal life. 

They were actually living like a normal couple. They left for work together and came back at night. Sometimes, they had a little conflict every now and then but it increased their love for each other.

They were blissful days that the couple did not want to end and it did not seem to end too.

The day of delivery was near and Liu Juan's stomach became so huge.

"Are you sure there are no twins?" Mo Jinnan asked Mo Jiang, seeing the size of Liu Juan's bump.

Today was the weekend, and Mo Jiang had invited Mo Jinnan and Si Li for lunch. Where Si Li was cooking in the kitchen, Mo Jiang was taking a break from the work of the household, and Mo Jinnan was taking notes of things that would be needed once the baby was born. 

Although Mo Jiang had already filled a room with baby products, still he wanted to make sure that nothing would be left out, especially when there was no elder woman in their family to take care of the baby and Liu Juan.

Thus, he bothered Mo Jinnan and Si Li.

Mo Jinnan was quite happy with Mo Jiang's pestering. It was the first time that Mo Jiang had asked for something so how could he deny him?

Furthermore, it was for his nephew.

Mo Jinnan did not feel a burden at all. In fact, Juan's villa had turned into his second house. Out of seven days in a week, he lived here for four days.

He felt the same sense of belonging here as he did back at his own home.

It seemed that allowing Liu Juan to marry his brother was not a wrong decision.

Whereas, Si Li did not feel any sense of belonging here. After all, he wasn't from the Mo Family. He was from the Si Family.

But the atmosphere at Juan Villa was light and stress-free. So he loved to spend his time here whenever he was free.

"It is a boy." Mo Jiang was disgruntled.

It turned out that it was a baby boy just like Liu Juan had expected and was wishing for.

Liu Juan was thrilled to hear it but Mo Jiang was silently wallowing in bitterness. After all, he could not dare to badmouth his child in front of Liu Juan.

Otherwise, a raging war would definitely be taking place the next moment.

"Doctor has estimated the due date to be sometime at the end of next week. I can barely contain myself from being so excited to meet my baby. " Liu Juan walked out of the kitchen with a tray of snacks in her hands. She turned to Mo Jiang and complained. "See how many snacks Li has cooked!? You have never cooked this many dishes for me."

"My dear wife, I focus on quality, nor quantity. These snacks aren't as good as mine. Here, taste it yourself and know the importance of your husband." Mo Jiang took a piece of fried chicken and put it in her mouth.

Liu Juan shot a disdainful look at him seeing how arrogant he was being.

But what he said was true.

Mo Jiang did not stop here.

"Li, You should learn how to cook good food so that you will make your wife happy like how I make my wife happy, right my love?" Mo Jiang happily said in a loud voice so that not only Si Li could hear him but  Liu Juan could also affirm in her mind that Mo Jiang was the best husband in this world.

"Liar, when did you make me happy?" Liu Juan shot Mo Jiang a glare and had a mischievous smile on her face.

Si Li rolled his eyes at his friend knowing how much Mo Jiang liked to boost himself in front of Liu Juan. Especially now, when the doctor had mentioned the gender of his child.

Mo Jiang had tried very hard to hide his insecurity but Si Li had keen eyes and nothing could stay hidden from his eyes.

He knew that once the child would be born, Liu Juan's all attention would be on the little bun. Therefore, the thing through which Mo Jiang could gain the attention of his wife was to cook delicious food. 

For a foodie, food was a very precious thing.

And that was what Mo Jiang aiming for.

Soon the lunch was over. Liu Juan went to take an afternoon nap while the three men went to play cards.

"I heard that you have been coming to my company quite recently. I never knew you liked being in my company so much. Why don't you join my company instead?" Si Li asked in amus.e.m.e.nt.

"I don't like your company but yes, I like one of your employees." Mo Jinnan did not have any intention to hide his thoughts. Especially after seeing how  Mo Jiang was happy after being married.

"Employee? Who is she? Why didn't I hear about it?" Mo Jiang asked with intrigue evident in his voice.

"Because you are always so busy with your wife that you don't know what is happening in the world." Si Li said coldly.

"But I know about a girl from Lu Family. How is she? I heard she joined Si Corporation. Hmm...I wonder what she did to get in the Si Cor--"

"She did nothing." Si Li interrupted him and that was true.

Lu Lan had joined Si Corporation on her own abilities. Moreover, she was now an intern only. She needed to complete her studies before being offered an appropriate position in the company and get the chance to meet him.

It was a long way for them.

The three men continued to talk about their interest, especially towards their women on whom they had set their keen eyes on, like a wolf so that no dog came in between.

Late at night.

"Help me." Liu Juan called Mo Jiang to remove her artificial leg.

Not only had Liu Juan changed to have confidence in her appearance but she also did not look down on herself because of her right leg.

Like now, Mo Jiang took out her artificial leg and carried her to the bathroom.

"Do you feel  I have become heavy?" Liu Juan wrapped her arms around his shoulders and asked with a sweet smile but her eyes were saying something else.

There was a danger hidden in them that would creep out if Mo Jiang would dare to  say 'Yes.'

Mo Jiang would not have been known in the European Underworld if he did not have the ability to find out the hidden dangers lurking behind.

"Absolutely not. Who said that? Tell me, I will teach them a lesson." Mo Jiang lied with a clean face.

Instantly, a bright smile appeared on her face. 

Mo Jiang checked the water temperature and helped her in settling down inside the tub.

"Come, join me." Liu Juan said.

"Don't play with fire." Mo Jiang warned her.

"Stop it." Mo Jiang gruntled which widened her giggle.

Since Liu Juan had become pregnant, their schedule of regular exercise had completely disrupted.

Now a simple teasing burned a fire in himself which he had nowhere to take out.

"What did I do?" Liu Juan grinned while trying to act innocent. She still continued to tease him.

"Y-your towel is in the room. I will get it. You complete your bath." Mo Jiang could not control himself and before he could lose control of himself, he disappeared.

Liu Juan laughed out loud seeing his funny situation. 

Ten minutes had passed and Mo Jiang was still nowhere to be found. It seemed that she had teased him badly this time. 

Feeling bad for him, she completed her bath first. She did not call him and stood up with the support of the wall to take a towel that was kept on the rack.

The rack was a little far away. She tried to move towards it while making sure not to fall. After a few times, she finally was about to pick it but then her leg slipped.

She tried to hold something to support herself but nothing came in her hands. She lost her balance and fell forward.

'Thud!'

'Ah!'

A horrified look appeared in her eyes.
