Chapter 309 - Stab (Part-1)

The whining sounds of a woman were heard. Across the street, some rogue men were beating a woman. Some bypassers turned to look at the good show while some did not bother to stop.

"No! Leave me...I didn't do anything. Please..." The woman begged. But it went unheard because of the sound of punches and kicks she was receiving.

Her dirty clothes now had patches of her blood. Her face was covered with blood and water. Bruises were also there.

"You dare to run away!" One of the men said and kicked on her face making her nose bleed profoundly.

People felt pity for her but no one came forward to help her. After all, she was a beggar.

However, Liu Juan was not just anyone. She instantly recognized the beggar. "Big Sister." She immediately started striding towards her to save her but Mo Jiang's man, Sun Choi, came in front of her.

Sun Choi was the leader of Mo Jiang's teams. Mo Jiang did not know but he was feeling uneasy today, so he had especially asked Sun Choi to come and protect Liu Juan while he was away.

Sun Choi said, "Missus, I think you should not get involved in the trivial matters of others."

"Trivial matter? She is my sister. They are beating her! How can you say it's a mere trivial matter?" Liu Juan asked back angrily.

"I know who she is but you don't want to make the Master angry, especially today, do you?" Sun Choi retorted nonchalantly.

He immediately opened the door of their car for Liu Juan. 

"Missus, please sit down. We need to go back. Today is a special day for Little Master, you don't want to ruin it, do you? " Sun Choi's words were stony as he was not affected by whatever was happening across the street but Liu Juan was not like him.

After all, Liu Ruolan was her biological sister!

She could not turn away her eyes, especially when those men were beating Liu Ruolan so cruelly.

Remembering Mo Jiang's words, Liu Juan resisted herself and sat inside the car.

Sun Choi swiftly sat back inside the car and drove off.

As the car passed across the street, Liu Juan heard Liu Ruolan's screams. "Help….Somebody...Please help me!"

Those words shook her heart terribly. She clutched her fist tightly to the point that her sharp nails dug into her palms.

She did not want to but her mind was recalling her past with Liu Ruolan. That was how Liu Ruolan was always there to save her when other children bullied her in the orphanage. Sometimes, because of saving her, Liu Ruolan got bullied and beaten up badly by children. 

Still, Liu Ruolan never stopped saving Liu Juan. Not even once.

Now someone was beating Liu Ruolan and Liu Juan had turned a blind eye to her sister.

How could she?

Liu Juan's conscience questioned her.

"Wait." She said abruptly. 

Sun Choi did not stop the car but looked at her through the rearview mirror.

"I...I forgot to mention I have a booking in the salon...Turn back to the mall near Little Champ's school." Liu Juan said as she acted like she was trying to get over from Liu Ruolan's incident.

Her eyes weren't red anymore.

Sun Choi looked at her for a few more seconds while Liu Juan did not look at him. She looked outside the window indifferently.

After a while, Sun Choi turned the car and drove to the mall which Liu Juan had mentioned. After all, he would be with her. She could not run away.

After Liu Juan talked to reception, she walked inside while Sun Choi stood outside on guard.

Unbeknownst to him, Liu Juan did not have any plans to get a makeover. The salon in which she came was shabby where people would get done whatever they wanted for money. 

Liu Juan gave a few bucks to receptions and sneakily left the salon from the backside.

The difference between the mall and Little Champ's school was a mere ten minutes walk. Liu Juan ran to the place where those men were beating up Liu Ruolan.

When Liu Juan reached there, she found there was no one. Although some of the beggars were there, Liu Ruolan wasn't there.

People were passing by as if nothing had happened half an hour before.

But Liu Juan was sure that she had seen Liu Ruolan.

She walked towards one of the beggars and asked. "Where is the girl who was being beaten up a few minutes ago?"

"Who are you? And why are you asking for her?" The beggar asked as she did not seem interested in sharing information with Liu Juan for free.

Liu Juan understood it. She handed over a few bucks to the beggar as well. Instantly, the beggar opened her mouth. "Ohhh...That girl...I remember...She ran away and the men chased after her."

"Which way did she run off to?" Liu Juan asked.

"This way." The beggar pointed in the right direction.

Liu Juan remembered that day when Liu Ruolan ran in the same direction. Perhaps, Liu Ruolan ran back to her home.

Liu Juan did not waste time and ran towards Liu Ruolan's house.

It was a little far away but Liu Juan's sense of direction was good as she reached Liu Ruolan's house in no time.

"Big Sister, are you there? It's me, Liu Juan. I will help you, Big Sister… Please open the door." Liu Juan said as she consecutively knocked on the door.

No one opened it despite the fact that she had already been knocking at the door for a few good minutes now.

The door was not locked from outside which meant that someone was surely inside.

Were the men inside with Liu Ruolan?

That was why there was no sound from inside despite that the door was closed from inside.

Perhaps.

Instantly Liu Juan's heart tightened thinking of the possibility. She did not waste a second and kicked at the door ferociously.

She still practiced her skills as life could change its mind and turned back to cruel. The door opened at once.

Liu Juan could not see anything. She used her phone's flashlight to look inside.

The house was extremely dirty. There were few used utensils kept on the floor. A few unpacked wrappers of noodles.  Few clothes were also kept on the other side.

Liu Juan slowly moved from one corner to another. The light from the flashlight fell on every item kept in the one hall house until it stopped on the person. From where the stiffening sound came. 

Liu Juan's eyes went wide upon seeing her. "Big Sister." She squeaked.

Liu Ruolan was hiding in the corner, looking up frantically. 

The flashlight fell on her eyes which she reflexively blocked using her hands.

Liu Ruolan seemed to be scared as she did not see the face of the person but Liu Juan immediately walked towards her.

"Big Sister, who did this to you?" Liu Juan asked worriedly.

Liu Ruolan's face was looking hideous. Bruises, blood, tears, sweat. All were on her face. It was hard to look at her. Her tattered clothes were dirty as well but Liu Juan wasn't bothered with it.

"Juan…" Liu Ruolan cried frantically.

Liu Juan's heart ached in pain to see her.

Liu Juan hugged Liu Ruolan in a protective manner disregarding Liu Ruolan's condition.

Liu Juan's pain turned into anger as she asked "Tell me...Big Sister...you did this to you...I will not leave them...Is it Bo Xiao? Tell me-Ah!"

But in the next moment, a knife slid in her stomach.

She felt a sharp pain in her stomach.

Liu Juan looked down to see her blood oozing out and then she looked up at Liu Ruolan whose expression had changed into a smile.

Her smile was hideous as if an evil witch was smiling.

"Big sister…"Liu Juan was shocked as to what had suddenly happened.

Then the same rogue men entered the house and shut the door tightly from inside. 

Darkness engulfed the house for a fraction of seconds and then the house lightened up with the lights turned on.

Liu Juan was so startled to see what was happening in a matter of just seconds that she did not notice Liu Ruolan pulling the knife out of Liu Juan's stomach and stabbing it inside her again with much force that Liu Juan fell on her back on the floor while her phone fell far away from her.
