"And...And...The doctor couldn't save the child." The man replied in low voice.

"What were Zi and his men going at that time?" Si Li grunted as he grabbed the man's collar immediately. 

Zi was the leader of the team who was responsible for Lu Lan's security.

"They were present there...But...They did not expect Sha Han-You to have a gun…They had killed her but it was too late!" The man stuttered as he reported.

"Useless!" Si Li snapped. "Kill all of them! Don't leave any of them." Si Li snarled and walked away from there.

His heart was crushed at this news. His child was no more. How did it happen?

Lu Lan?

Bullets had hit above her ċhėst. How was she now?

Si Li had no idea.

He didn't chance to celebrate the good news with her when she found out about their child, but he promised to make it up to her and their child.

But who knew the child would leave before he had the chance?

Si Li's nostrils flared in rage as he sat inside his car.

It was his and Lu Lan's first child, and he couldn't protect it.

If he was in so much pain, how did Lu Lan feel?

Thinking about her anguish, he stepped on the brakes and drove back to Diamond Hills.

Diamond Hills

"Father, eat something. You can't keep going like this. You must look after your health." In front of Elder Si, Madam Si serves food on a plate.

Diamond Hills had become desolate since Lu Lan had lost her child and moved in with her uncle Wang Wei, while Elder Si and Madam Si had lost the sprint of their lives. Furthermore, so many days had passed and Si Li was nowhere to be found.

But her words had no effect on him. 

Elder Si grimaced and shook his head. "You're just saying it to make me feel better, but don't you miss Xiao Hu?"

Madam Si fell silent immediately.

After all, she still loved him despite the fact that he always loved her elder sister, his first wife.

But if Father Si would have been alive, would things be different?

Masam Si smiled melodically. She replied. "I do but everyone's fate is already decided, we can't fight against it."

At that moment, a car engine sound was heard and in the next moment, Si Li walked in.

"Xiao Li…" Madam Si walked towards him where he immediately asked.

"Where is Lan?" 

"She…" But Si Li had already walked upstairs to their room before she could respond.

"She is not here." Elder Si said glumly.

Si Li came to a halt. He returned his gaze and asked. "What do you mean?"

Lu Lan is not here. Where did she go then?

"She went to live at her uncle's house. Little Champ is with her." Madam Si replied.

"Live at her uncle's house? How could you allow her? Is she in a position to live at that cramped house?" Si Li asked angrily. 

"Then what do you expect from her? To live here when her husband doesn't care for her. You've been gone for several days without saying anything. Didn't you know how would she feel? Where were you?" Elder Si asked back angrily.

Although Elder Si blamed himself to enter in Underworld, Si Li should have informed Lu Lan before going. At least she wouldn't have been so hurt.

Even a small kid like Little Champ understood how much Si Li's absence affected her.

He went to his best friend whose brother had killed many men of his.

But Si Li did not reply and walked outside the villa to go to Wang Wei's house.

What was the meaning of going to live at her uncle's house?

Was she planning to leave him?

"Wow...It's queen!" Wang Yan exclaimed at her triumph.

"You still need to take its cover or you will get this…" Si Yan showed her a thumb to which she rolled her eyes.

Since Lu Lan and Little Champ came to live at Wang Wei's house, Si Yan and Wang Yan often came here when they were free to cheer Lu Lan up.

Every time they played different games to divert Lu Lan's mind over her loss.

Since she had come here, she had turned quiet.

"I will take the cover like this. You just wait and watch." Wang Yan said challengingly, snapped her fingers.

"Aunty here." Little Champ passed on the striker towards her.

Although Little Champ's little fingers could not push the striker far away, he was enjoying the game.

"Little Brat! You are my nephew and you are taking her side."Si Yan unhappily said.

"Yes! Because he is my nephew and he loves me the most, right Little Champ?" Wang Yan looked at him with expectation.

Little Champ fakely nodded. Actually, he just liked both of them and loved his mummy the most but currently, Wang Yan was a great help to cheer Lu Lan's mood, so obviously, he would naturally take her side.

"You…" Si Yan could not believe Little Champ would take Wang Yan's side without hesitation. Si Yan was about to make a fuss over it but at that time, the doorbell rang.
