60 A day off

John left the capsule, many things happened in the last days.

He felt like some important man now that he rules a kingdom but somehow this responsibility was kind of pressuring for John.

Because of that, John decided to take a day off from the game.

He went outside and walked a bit in the city until he somehow ended up in front of a fancy restaurant.

Because John no longer had to monitor his spendings as much as before he decided that he deserved a bit of luxury and entered the restaurant.

As soon as he reached the lectern for the waiter he was startled when he looked at a familiar face of his friend Erika in a waiter uniform that was usually worn by male employees.

After both of them calmed down John was led to his table.

Her shift was over so John finished his meal and left the restaurant with Erika.

Both of them walked leisurely through town and entered some shops.

Erika bought a nice summer dress which surprised John but then she bought a new survival knife and John nodded in his thoughts:

"Yep, that's Erika..."

But it seemed that they were not the only ones that had the idea to have some off time from the game because they bumped into Claire in company with some servants which helped her get around and try some clothes on.

Claire was happy when she saw Erika but her face started to shine when she saw John.

Claire sent her servants away as she had Erika and John now to help her and they continued their shopping spree with much Joy.

But after some hours of walking through the city, they decided to visit Olaf a bit, so they took a cab to his workshop.

The three of them knocked on the door and Olaf opened them and let them in.

Everyone sat down at a big table while Olaf cooked some tea, while the water was boiling he grabbed into the fridge and pulled out a strawberry cheesecake that he placed in the middle of the table while observing the beaming smile of Claire.

After they drank their tea and ate the cake, John wanted to do something but because he never had a hobby before didn't know what to do so he just took a leather apron and threw some metal ingots into the forge.

When the first ingot reached a high enough temperature he took it out and started forging it.

John stretched the metal with some well-placed strikes when the metal cooled down too much he threw it back into the forge while taking another ingot out, this time he squared the bar adding a hole for a handle.

Next, he took out the third bar which he quickly hammered into a long round bar he then made a 90° bed on one side about 15cm long which he the detailed into a wolf head while adding some grooves for a better grip to it, after that he laid his third workpiece away to cool down.

He once again grabbed the first bar which he stretched out even more, after that he cut it into several pieces in which he added a small hole on one end of each of those pieces.

John thinned down the pieces even more until the were about as thick as a stem of a dandelion, he let them cool down too.

Next, he grabbed his second piece and quench hardened it, he laid it back next to the fire to temper it while readying a bluing tray out if brass with brass filing in it.

While he was working he saw how his friends went into the garden to soak up some sun so he secretly started a fourth project.

He took his finished projects and joined everyone in the garden, he laid the hammer on a table and got nod from Olaf when he saw his workpiece, then John gave Olaf the walking cane he made because John couldn't help but notice that Olaf's age took a toll on him and he was limping a bit from all the hard work he had to do in his life.

Olaf looked at him with warm eyes while accepting the gift with thanks.

Then John went to Erika and gave her the Blue needles he made which made her also happy.

But then Claire started pouting when she saw Johns Empty hands.

Olaf grabbed Erika and both of them went inside so that they were out of the danger zone John brought himself into...
