75 Ullr's second try

John took a break from the game today, he still thought about the notifications he got after he finished Sebastian.

"You've created a new race! You can set up a starting area for this race!"

He kept walking through the town thinking about it...

...Ullr was walking through the capital of the kingdom his brother took over, be named it supremacy. Ullr felt a strange gloomy aura floating around when he entered the city and he saw surprisingly few non-human races.

Many people stared at him with a cold glare but nobody dared to talk to him, probably because he emitted aa strong energy aura thanks to his high-demon status. The whole kingdom seemed to have changed to the worse Ullr thought to himself as he decided to leave the kingdom as fast as possible.

"AAAHHH my dear brother what brings you into my lovely abode?" Mephisto said while he pulled Ullr in a one-sided hug.

Ullr looked at his brother with disgust and just took out the robot part he got from the demonlike Automata and threw it onto to table.

Mephisto turned around and stroked the metal parts seductively with his fingers while saying:

"I hear that you too failed to beat the second floor of that wretched place...well I could give you some ideas on how to beat it...for a small favor from your side of course."

Ullr didn't want to work with his brother but he had no idea how he should beat the second floor without massive amounts of luck, so he just said:  "What do you want now?!"

"Ohhh nothing too special let's call it samples from the enemies of the following floors of the dungeon...that should be no problem for you right? I even through something extra if you bring me a functioning sample." Mephisto said while still stroking the metal pieces on his desk.

Ullr really didn't want to do his brother this favor but he still accepted and his brother said: "Fantastic...you see...you have the problem that every shield you use to defend against the junk bullets of that wretched machine is broken nearly instantly...well what about you do what people did in real life. In world war one the tanks that were used on the battlefield were rather blocky, but as soon as anti-tank weaponry was developed they discovered that ninety-degree angles weren't good as armor so they angled it to deflect bullets instead of stopping them..."

Ullr knew that his brother was right but he quickly left to get away from this freak.

He went back to the dungeon after he bought several tower shields and quickly cleared the first floor just to test if he could deflect the shrapnel with an angled shield which worked flawlessly.

Back on the second floor, Ullr fought his way to the boss room. This time he came across three demon shaped bots and even though he was slightly injured once again the fights we're easier as he knew what he was up against. He reached the boss room and quickly pulled out two tower shields and he turtled down on the ground and with the shields having a sharp angle facing forward he started crawling forward in the direction of the scrapling gunner. He heard how the boss's weapon spun up and fired a tremendous amount of bullets in his direction. Ullr flinched several times when the bullets hit his shields and made a ringing sound when they were deflected away from him. Everything seemed to work even though he was still slightly injured by some shrapnel hitting him from behind. He soon reached the boss and quickly finished it as it couldn't Dodge because it was anchored to the ground. Ullr took his loot and ventured on to the next floor...

...while this was happening, John was having lunch with Claire for the first time since their fight. At first, it was awkward because nobody talked until John suddenly started talking.

He told Claire how he felt when they fought and about what happened in the workshop while she was away. And told her about how he needs her because she brings out the best out of him just like his brother.

Claire replied nothing so John kept talking until he told her about the notification that he created a new race and the hidden questline of which he knew nothing about.

Then Claire wrote something on her whiteboard. She told him that he shouldn't be bothered by the hidden quest as he didn't know what to do anyway and that if he could create a new race out of nothing then maybe he should just give it to the world and he wouldn't have to think about it anymore.

After this conversation silence followed both of them are their food paid and went back home to start the game. Everything seemed easier in the game world so it was easier for both of them to meet each other in-game as they could talk about everything there.

John thought about what Claire said and followed her advice. He grabbed some Mythril and adamantite created an alloy out of them and quickly crafted a smithing bot out of that, then he ordered some of his robots to carry it and install it in the temple they made for him, he thought that he at least gave the building a purpose now...

Shortly after a world announcement reached every player "The New Race Mechanoid was created and can now be selected in the Character creation screen"
