77 The Third Floor

Ullr was standing before the stairwell leading to the third floor and was hesitating.

He came further than any other Player that tried beating this dungeon, but now he had no information of what was to come.

Ullr steeled his resolve and went down the stairs, he stopped in front of the mosaic and studied it carefully.

Ullr was surprised when he didn't see any humanoid figures and that didn't give him a good feeling.

If something was similar to you, you know how it can move but if it's different then it becomes unpredictable and dangerous in a fight.

He saw small animal shape figures on the mosaic that had strange green teeth, also there were scorpion and/or spiderlike figures pictured. But the strangest part about the mosaic was that some of the animal-shaped ones seemed to get eaten by the scorpions and spiders.

Ullr knew that this dungeon floor would be far from easy to clear but he had to get justice for his brother and punish the creator of this wretched place. And so Ullr went inside on his first try to clear the third floor of the "Mausoleum of Titans": "3.Mechxia's Nest"

When Ullr read the name of the floor he once again had a bad feeling but he still carried on.

This part of the dungeon was still built like a labyrinth but it also had parts were it was heavily damaged and to a cave-like appearance, but what probably was to most eye-catching factor that was different to the first and second floor were parts of big spider webs made completely out of metal. Also, Ullr saw mushrooms growing on this floor but most of them had strange marks on them like something small nibbled on them. That was when Ullr suddenly felt a sharp sting on his ankle, he looked down and saw a metallic rat biting him. As he knew the twisted thinking of the dungeon master Ullr didn't kill the rat out of reflex but calmed down after which he quickly grabbed it and threw it as hard as he could on a wall that was several meters away, and he guessed right the rat shattered on impact and showered several meters around the wall with shrapnel which fortunately didn't reach Ullr. Ullr wanted to continue when his leg suddenly lost all strength and his vision started to get hazy, he quickly downed some antidote but before he was fully recovered several new mechanical rats ran towards him with sharp blinking teeth. Ullr knew that this was a lost battle so he closed his eyes and accepted his fate...

...John once again in dwarven disguise looked after the states of one of his city's. He didn't want to believe it when Erika told him about the refugees but now he saw it first hand so he bowed down to the child that was walking with him and said: "Actor see that every refugee is getting shelter and food and ask Erika what we have to prepare for the worst case of another war with us as the defenders!"

"Yes my Lord!" The child said in a voice that neither sounded young nor old as he vanished into the shadows.

John then wanted to go back when a large familiar silhouette clad in leather armor came out of the Temple...

...Ullr just respawned and showed his respect to the unknown gods of this temple after which he went outside only to meet the old dwarf that made his bow. Ullr greeted the dwarf with a smile and said with a laugh: "Hey there friend, the bow you made for me is splendid but you still owe me a drink for leaving me alone with the angry villagers and their pitchforks."

The dwarf started laughing too and agreed to have a drink together. They went to the nearest tavern and were greeted with a warm cozy room filled with laughing people. Both of them found a place to sit in the corner of the room and the waitress, a female Elf in a long brown dress with a white apron, placed a hearty meal and Mug of beer in front of each of them without the need of any talking by them. Both enjoyed the bustling feeling of life this tavern gave them while they were eating and drinking. Both of them talked and talked and talked while being accompanied by the beer that the Elf waitress was always refilling.

They weren't talking about important stuff because basically, they were two strangers drinking together but to them, it felt like the most important conversation of their lives. Both of them found something that they never had in their life before, a best friend. Ullr never had a real friend because everyone he met was either interested in his family's wealth or was an arrogant prick.

And John never was popular in school because either people would stay away from him to not get affected by his bad luck or they bullied him, he liked Olaf and he would call Olaf a friend but to John, Olaf fit into the role of an honorary grandpa better. The hour was getting late and both of them already had a sore throat from talking so they decided to end it for today. Both of them paid their bill and left the tavern but just before they said goodbye, Ullr said: "Hey I might need your expertise in smithing again sometime let us add each other as friends, what's your name by the way?"

John had not thought of a name for his disguise so he said the first thing that came to his mind: "My name is Schmied, and maybe we can go drinking sometime again."

"Pseudonym "Schmied" registered" John heard the system say in his head.

Both added each other to their friend list and went their way knowing that they would meet each other again soon...
