Chapter 409 - The Test II

Lory who is keen on Zhao Li Xin's sudden mood changed she need to salvage the situation immediately she suddenly cheers "You…you right, this is a good space, isn't that right husband!" Lory blinks her eyes as she signs Zhao Li Xin to keep his cool.

Zhao Li Xin of course notice Lory sign, he doesn't want to ruin the bigger plan and disappointed his princess, he snorts in disdained as he left the room, the young man didn't know why Zhao Li Xin is angry is this place is not good enough, he thought this new recruitment didn't know how to be grateful, lory smiles wryly as she mods her head politely "Thank you for showing us the place" Lory timidly say.

"Hump!" the young man stifles in upset then he flicks his robes and leaves promptly.

Lory sigh in relief when the young man left, the room is more spacious but still not fill the standard of the room from Zhao Li Xin manor and especially the standard of the underground palace. Lory searches for Zhao Li Xin and because the courtyard is not big she found him in second, he is inside the small pavilion drinking his wine with a gloomy expression.

Lory lean on the pavilion pole "Still angry?" she smiles gently.

Zhao Li Xin drinks his wine as he tries to swallow his anger, he let out a heavy heaved "I can't stand the way they treated you" he mutters.

Lory feel a warmed breeze lingers in his heart, how could she not understand him from the first time she met him Zhao Li Xin is always the one who make a fussed with every little scratch she had and he can be extreme sometimes but that because of her, and because Zhao Li Xin can see the depth of the darkness of human heart unlike Lory who sometimes overlooked of what people could do to fulfilled their d.e.s.i.r.e, Lory understand her flaws so when they deal with the enemy she left the decision to Zhao Li Xin because she trusts him with all her heart.

"That to be expected isn't it, after all, it's all part of my plan" Lory take a seat next to Zhao Li Xin and the small pavilion suddenly become cramped "Oh, I have news from you, someone from the Chen family has a relationship with Mo Ning Yuan, maybe he is the backer" 

"Chen family?" Zhao Li Xin frowned "Which Chen?" he asked again.

"Don't know yet, but I figure it out later" Lory shrug her shoulder casually "That man come after you leaving and they involved in an illicit relationship, it's not shocking news judging how Mo Ning Yuan behaved" she squints her eyes toward Zhao Li Xin, she still upset for what happened that night.

He feel the cat paw scratch his heart, Lory angry face only make him excited "Keep making that face and you will not get up from the bed for days" he smiles wickedly while sipping his wine.

Lory's faces turn red as a ripe tomato but she knew Zhao Li Xin never jokes about bedroom matters "You said I need to take a rest for a few days" she pursed her lips feeling wronged.

"Not when you make that kinda a face" he gives Lory seductive smiles.

Lory was fl.u.s.tered, everyone said Zhao Li Xin is a cold man but in front of him he like a blazing fire that engulf her with love and passion, she could never get away from him since the first time she met him, Lory rubbed her steaming cheeks "Stop joking, I don't blame you….just don't get to close to that woman next time" 

"I won't, you know I don't like being touch by other people other than you" he patted Lory head dotingly. 

Before he met Lory he thought he will spend the rest of his lives alone, sometimes he wonders why is being touched by other people is unbearable for him, why he feel apathetic with other people, other than Mong ki and Mong Yi who had been served him since he was a kid he can't stand with other people get to close to him he even has times where he doesn't want Mong ki and Mong Yi bother him too much, he feel comfortable in his solitude as the darkness become common in his life but then Lory comes…

It is like the sun finally rises after the long dark winter. As if he was reborn, he saw everything differently, he starts to notice everything around him even the taste of the food and the smelled of the air around him change now he understands what he likes and don't like, he begins to able to enjoy what was he consider a necessity for him. 

Although he still feel another human being is still unbearable for him, but now he can accept a few people inside his circle and their existence becomes more than a symbiotic relationship it grew to be something more, something he never expected.

"What are you thinking?" Lory holds Zhao Li Xin's hands, it's rare to see him lost in his thought.

Her touch awaked him from his daze, their hand interlaced together as he kissed her hands gently "I only loved your touch, there are no one others before or after you" he said truthfully.

Why his flirting come in full forces, Lory's face remains heated and her heart beating so fast she worries she would have a heart attack. If he keeps doing this she wouldn't able to control herself and take him to bed instead, who cares about health! She has the urge to drag her s.e.xy husband to the bedroom right now!

"I have to go for a while, you better stay in our courtyard" 

Lory snapped back from her lecherous minds "Eh, what? Why?" Lory complains strongly.

"That Nan woman gives me a test to catch Shadow tiger for her" he sneers when he mentions that insolent Nan Yu Qi, she dares to make him as her lackey, he would make her pay.

"Is it dangerous?" Lory got to worry, hunting beast is no joking matters.

"Not for me" he raised his eyebrows confidently "Is only a saint level beast afterall" 

"You said Saint-level beast is dangerous" Lory remembers she and Zhao Li Xin has encounter saint level beast at the Ancient Tomb.

"Only because you were there and I still unable to control my immortal flame but now is different and my cultivation also raised tremendously from before, a Saint-level beast is nothing for me now," he said in a relaxed manner.

"Okay, I believe you then" lory sigh.

"I have my people watching over you when I'm gone, his name is Mong Gui, he will contact you secretly when I'm leaving"

"Okay," lory nods her head obediently "When will you leave?" 

He sees Lory obviously reluctant to separate from him, she make Zhao Li Xin's heart feel tickles by a gentle feather as he was struck in dilemma should he left or not, he rather spends his times talking with her or better, make love with her than searching a mountain beast.

"I leave tonight" he sighs as he also feel hard leaving her behind especially leaving her inside the lion's den.

"Ugh, that soon huh?" Lory props her chin as she feels irritated by his sudden leaves.

"I'm just leaving for two or three days, I could come back sooner but that would raise suspicion so you stay at home and don't do anything naughty" he reminds her like kids but Lory already used to it.

"Fine…." Lory pout, she already imagines how bored she is without Zhao Li Xin but he didn't worry about her safety. Surrounded by the enemy without Zhao Li Xin every normal people should feel worried but Lory is not normal she never been normal, dangers are something happened in her world on a daily basis so she not anxious when Zhao Li Xin is not around only she can't bear her loneliness without him around.

"Keep yourself safe, the people in this place are cruel and savaged you must stay vigilant when I'm gone, okay" Zhao Li Xin reminds Lory with a serious face.

"I know, don't worry, you also need to take care yourself who knows if other people might not like it you serve Xie Hua Ling"

"Silly, it's them you must worry about" Zhao Li Xin chuckles. There are not many people in this continent who can match him, Lory worry is unnecessary but still, it's warmed his heart.
