It's been two days since Roxy staying at Declan's house after 'Kaylee' said goodbye to her. During these two days, she went about her activities as usual as if she no longer felt sad.
Even so, she still wasn't ready to watch her mother's videos and just kept herself busy with the music arrangement. When Declan goes to work in the morning, she will practice piano or work as a composer.
Wendy was no longer in New York, and she has to do Wendy's part of the task as a mixer and editing. This was precisely the part that makes it difficult. She's not very good at editing, let alone mixing tracks. Luckily she has Declan, who willingly helps her in editing and mixing.
In addition, the proceeds from the sale of her composition services are wholly hers. Declan did not want to receive a penny from her even though he was the one who mostly took part in mixing and editing.
What a lucky girl she is! She had to hold on to Declan's hand tightly because she wouldn't find any better man than Declan..
Roxy decided to surprise Declan by cooking something for the man. As soon as Declan left for work, Roxy immediately browsed food bloggers and saw recipes and cooking methods.
No wonder that Declan's kitchen, which was initially clean and tidy, had become stained with vegetables scattered on the floor and smoke making Roxy cough.
"What happened? Why do I feel like I'm in the middle of a battlefield?" Roxy asked herself and was horrified by the current state of the kitchen.
Roxy glanced at the clock and gasped in a panic, knowing Declan would be home in two hours. She had to quickly clean up this kitchen and prepare a nice romantic dinner.
What should she do? She couldn't possibly finish it in two hours!
She suddenly had a mischievous idea and smiled like a madman.
Two hours later…
Declan arrived at the basement parking lot of his penthouse at precisely six in the afternoon. In his ear was a Bluetooth headset, and he was talking to the person on the other end.
"I don't want an eighty success rate. I want more than ninety-five. And I want it before the new year comes."
"Mr. Black. You ask for impossible things."
"Impossible is not in my dictionary."
"I think I can force them to do it if they haven't slept for days, but they are human. They need enough rest."
"I promise to give them two weeks off once this project is done."
"Mr. Black. You do realize your workers have not slept for two whole weeks to achieve an eighty percent success rate? The success rate didn't even reach fifty before today."
"Then they can reach above ninety within ten days."
"Ten days!? Mr. Black…"
"Kris. I hired you because I know your convincing skill. Use it now." without waiting for a response from his right hand, Declan disconnected the call and walked towards the elevator.
After entering the password to access his penthouse floor, Declan exhaled a very long breath. He stroked his temple tiredly as he thought about his orders to Kristopher.
Since Roxy was abducted by a stalker whose name he doesn't remember, Declan was more relatable about his hidden project. Plus, a few days ago, Nicholas Larson… Nicolau Allanach met him and told him about Frontier Shadow.
He didn't know what kind of organization Frontier Shadow was, and neither did Kris, even though he had been a member of Hades' organization for a long time. Kris had never even heard of the name, so it wasn't easy to trace the group's whereabouts.
But he knew Frontier Shadow did exist because Nicolau was one of those members and knew about his god eyes project.
He hasn't activated it yet because he has to launch a satellite into space. The program system and working methods for tracking the were ready, but the telemetry line and satellite orbital speed were still problematic and were not ready to be launched.
If Roxy weren't Hades' daughter or didn't have a close relationship with Hades' organization, Declan wouldn't feel relentless as this. He became even more restless and felt as if Roxy would disappear from him without his knowledge.
That's why he wanted to speed up the launch of the God Eyes satellite so he could find his wife when there was a situation that required him to look for her.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Declan walked out and down the long corridor where the entrance to the penthouse was. He opened the door of his house, and the delicious aroma hit his nostrils.
Did Axelard come here and cook for him?
Declan walked inside and saw Roxy standing up to greet him with a big smile. As soon as he saw her smile, all the restlessness, and tiredness he felt just disappeared somewhere.
His face that was initially filled with tension, now relaxed and smiled along with his beloved girl.
"Welcome home. How is your day?"
"Lonely without you." was his sweet answer, inviting a crisp laugh from Roxy.
"I prepared dinner for us. Come on." Roxy walked over to him to grab Declan's hand after the man took off his black coat.
Then the two of them walked towards the dining room, where various dishes were prepared on the table. On average, all of them were Declan's favorite dishes, making Declan confused.
"You prepared all of this?" Declan couldn't believe it because Roxy couldn't cook to his knowledge.
"Yup. With some help, actually. Go try it." Roxy urged as she pushed Declan to sit on a chair while taking some of the side dishes on his plate.
Declan tasted the dish and chewed it slowly. Through its distinctive taste, Declan immediately knew who had helped Roxy.
"With some help, huh? How did you ask the blue king to cook?"
"Eh? You know?"
Declan chuckled at the adorably confused tone of his lover and pulled the girl unexpectedly until Roxy sat on his lap.
"I've eaten his food many times and know the taste very well. How do you get in touch with him, anyway? I don't remember you guys exchange contact numbers."
"I have my way." Roxy gently massaged Declan's forehead while speaking softly. "Why do you have another frown? Did something happen at work?"
His eyes softened at her concern. The only one who understood and felt his unease even though he had hidden it was only Roxy.
