91 Chapter 91: Why Is He Helping Her?

Then people recognized who he was, the best lawyer in town, a very unpredictable man. He was known to be best at cases related to heritage, and he chose his clients. The fact that Nathalia was able to hire him had already said something.

The shareholders took their time to take a close look at the paper, and they now had to accept the truth that Nathalia did own 5% of the shares. The question was how she got it.

Nicolas thought of something, and suddenly, he exclaimed, "I see. Mr. Davidson and Mr. Walken gave you the shares!"

Nathalia smiled and said nothing.

The crowd gasped.

"Didn't you and Spencer Davidson break up? Why would he give you the shares?"

"And Mr. Walken. Why is he helping you?"

"Could it be that Spencer Davidson is still in love with you?"

That's probably the reason, and he's been helping her secretively. The crowd guessed.

Now that they realized Nathalia had the support from Spencer Davidson and Steve Walken, they showed her more respect.

Frank was furious. He could hardly breathe, and it took him a while to find his words, "Nathalia, explain!"

Even if she did get the shares from Spencer and Steve, that's only 3%. How did she get the other 2%?

Compared to Frank, who was fuming and trembling with anger, Nathalia looked even calmer. She was in control indeed.

"Dad, why are you so angry? Isn't it better that your daughter, rather than others, own the shares?"

"You don't understand anything! Return the shares to them! You don't deserve to own any shares." Frank yelled at her, his neck and face reddened.

The sudden change was ruining his plan. He had worked so hard to get things back in order, and now he had to see it taken away. WHY?! WHY?! He was screaming inside.

The reporters were enjoying the show tremendously. With the help of the Davidson Group and Walken Cooperation, it's not impossible that Nathalia Carter will join and even take over the Carter's company.

Frank's loyal secretary was getting worried. He wanted to remind Frank to stay calm, but he was too scared, so he kindly asked the reporters to leave.

"Whether I deserve it or not is not up to you to say. The fact speaks itself. Why are you angry, Dad?" Nathalia replied calmly.

Of course, Frank was furious. He had planned to get the Davidson Group and Walken Cooperation involved so he can carry on with his greater plan. But now the shares were in Nathalia's hands, and everything had changed.

He glared at Nathalia and demanded, "The shares are mine. Give them back to me!" Now that all the reporters had left, he didn't care to pretend anymore. As with the shareholders, they were on the same boat as him, and he didn't mind how they would see him.

Nathalia sneered helplessly. Unbelievable. The concept of shame just doesn't exist in him. Does he still think he's in charge of my life now?

"Dad, now you are robbing me."

Frank pointed his finger at Nathalia and yelled, "I'm your father! I'm asking you to give the shares back to me."

He sounded so righteous as if Nathalia should appreciate the fact that he actually wanted something from her, and she should happily offer whatever he wanted.

He still believed that whatever Nathalia owned and he wanted, be it money or shares, and he had the right to have it.

The shareholders watched silently and thought, He doesn't understand the situation now. He can't just demand others to do whatever he wants and not give anything to them. How can he expect his daughter to respect him when he treats her like that?

Even brothers fight for money. Father and son fight against each other for authority and power.

Nathalia Carter is not stupid. She won't give him the shares; especially now she knows what her father's like.

Sean Rushton had dealt with many people like Frank, a pretentious and heartless robber, so it didn't surprise him to see how Frank reacted.

Nathalia had acknowledged and accepted what her father was like. She felt much lighter now and had no feelings towards him anymore. "No." She answered plainly.

Frank was so furious that he lifted his arm up and was about to hit Nathalia, "How dare you say no to me?!"

Nathalia lifted her chin up, stared at him icily. There was no fear in her eyes.

Sean frowned and said calmly, "Mr. Carter, I shall remind you that it's not a clever thing to hit a lawyer's client in front of him."

"She's my daughter. I'm just teaching her a lesson." Frank was shocked and felt a sudden fear, but still, he tried to justify himself.

Sean glanced at Frank's lifted arm and said, "It doesn't matter if she's your daughter or a stranger to you. She's my client. I will do my job if you hurt my client."

Frank was speechless. He had to give in—stupid, annoying lawyer.

He put his arm down and softened his tone. "Nathalia, can you please listen to Dad?"

Nathalia leaned towards the desk and supported her chin with both hands, looked at Frank curiously, smiled, and answered, "I will listen to you only if it makes sense."

The shareholders were impressed by Nathalia's collectedness. Despite her age, she had a persona that requested recognition and respect. Everyone knew how well Frank Carter played in the field, and it seemed like the daughter would excel her father.

This would be a blessing to most families, but to the Carter's, it was the opposite.

"Nathalia!" He almost screamed. Why do I have a daughter like her?!

However, he thought about his son, Zack, his future, and he composed himself. "Nathalia," he softened his voice, "You are my daughter. If there's any misunderstanding between us, we can talk and work it out. I know you have suffered and perhaps think that I don't love you or care about you, but you know that's impossible. I'm your parent. Every parent loves their children. I'm strict with you sometimes, but that's because I care about you..."

He was almost in tears, surprisingly. To speak in such a soft and pleading tone was something Frank would not normally do. It surprised everyone except Nathalia.

She wasn't a tiny bit touched at all. "If you transferred all the shares you have to me, then I will believe that you care about me, and for sure, I will give you the 5% I have."
