112 Chapter 112: Who Is To Forgive Whom?

"Miss Nathalia Carter, your father, is still in a coma in hospital, and you are suing him? Don't you think what you are doing is too cruel?"

"Don't you care about the fact that he's your father?"

"Do you hate each other so much? Do you think this is the right thing to do? Just for the money?"

"Do you really think it's worth it to lose your family for money?"

Almost all the media in the whole town had gathered here. Nathalia Carter was to meet Carter in the court today.

Nathalia had been on such occasions, so she found herself calm and confident.

Sean walked next to Nathalia, one arm around her shoulder, the other one blocking the cameras and microphones to clear a path for her. Nathalia followed Sean and didn't utter a word as if all the questions were filtered by her calmness. One could not tell what her face said under the sunglasses, but everyone could sense her serenity and self-assurance.

Evette couldn't hide her anger and barked at Nathalia as soon as she saw her, "Nathalia, how can you do this to dad? I will never forgive you. We will never forgive you!"

Who is to forgive whom? Nathalia sneered and remained silent.

She didn't even take a look at any of them when she walked past Ann, Evette, and Zack as if they were just strangers.

Zack lifted his fist up furiously. Scared and shocked, Ann instantly put her hand around him tight to calm the beast down. Silly boy. Why don't you listen?

The cameras recorded every exciting moment. That beast hasn't changed. Still violent and aggressive.

Nathalia shook her head, thinking, and he's the same, hasn't changed.

Seeing how cold and calm Nathalia acted, Ann somehow became anxious. She questioned in a demanding tone, "Nathalia, do you still see yourself as the daughter of the Carter?" What a devil! I didn't expect she could actually be so cruel, suing her father while he's still in the hospital! She is scary.

Nathalia paused and said, without turning around, "Whether I'm the daughter of the Carters or not is not for you, a step-mother, to decide. Mrs. Ann Carter, you don't have the right to kick me out of the family." Sharp. Determined.

Ever since she was born, she was part of the Carters. The bond, her identity would not break just because Frank Carter said so.

Ann, who had been spoiled all these years, could not bear the insult. Embarrassed and enraged, she yelled in a trembling voice, "You are cruel and merciless. Don't you talk to me like that!"

Nathalia glanced at her, lifted her eyebrows, and said rather casually, "You seduced someone's husband to get yourself the title of 'Mrs. Carter'. Don't you talk to me like that either."

Zack barked, "Watch your mouth, or I will..."

"Or, you will beat me again?" Nathalia said indifferently.

The anger was boiling inside Zack. He threw his fist, but it was caught by Ann. The cameras flashed their lights passionately, recording every move.

The battle had started before the court.

It seemed like Nathalia had already won the first game.

Sean stepped forward, stood in front of Nathalia, glanced around, and announced, "We have all the important poof we need, and we shall tell you once the case closes after the court."

Ann's heart sank, worried. But then she remembered the plan Frank had told her, and she regained her confidence. Frank is so smart. Everything will be alright as long as we follow his plan. Today, she will be completely beaten, destroyed! We will make her cry and beg.

In the court, three judges were seated in the front, two court reporters at each side, ready.

The three judges were selected carefully, all known for their justice, the same with the court, which was decided after numerous meetings and discussions.

The plaintiff and the defendant sat opposite each other, with their lawyers aside. A few guards stood around, watching, inspecting.

The atmosphere was heavy as the tension hung in the air.

The chief judge said a few words, straight to the point. The plaintiff gave the statement first and confirmed the truth.

"Miss Nathalia Carter, are you certain that you want the shares back?"

Every house had a skeleton. This was not an easy case. The judges would not like to displease either side. However, the law was just and equality before the law. The only thing they could and would do was to be just and to judge on the facts.

Nathalia stood straight with her chest and chin up, elegant and confident, "Yes. I'm protecting my own property. It's mine, and I want it back."

The judges were taken aback, impressed, not having expected that a young girl could be so calm and confident.

Ann looked emotional, with tears in her eyes. She reproached, "Nathalia, he is your father! How can you do this to him?"

Ann was representing Frank in the court, as the defendant. To have the judges show me pity, that's the way to do it. She thinks.

Nathalia knitted her brows slightly, smiled. Ha. Another show has started!

"What am I doing to him? I don't understand you. It belongs to me. He doesn't want to return it, and he even pretends that he's got attacked and hides in the hospital..."

"Pardon?" The judges and lawyers were astonished. If it's true, it's serious.

Ann, Evette, and Zack's faces went pale. Zack couldn't hold his boiling anger back anymore, and he jumped up from his seat and pointed at Nathalia, "You bitch! You will die terribly." It was true. Zack had not changed at all. The beast was still a beast.

It didn't win himself any favor from the judges at all. What's this boy doing? Calling his sister a bitch? If this is how he behaves in the court, I can't imagine how much worse he behaves at home and to his sister. No wonder Nathalia Carter was suing them. The other girl is not good, either. Arrogant and spoiled.

Meanwhile, Ann raised her voice and shouted in a warning tone, "Nathalia, this is the court. Don't you lie."

Nathalia was much calmer and collected as if she knew she had everything in control, and nothing could beat her.

"Exactly. This is the court. Respectable judges, I would like to request that she stops shouting." Nathalia stated.
