114 Chapter 114: All Lies

Shit. Anyway, I've said it now. If I can't hide it anyway, I might as well let it out.

"So what? She's never a lovable person. She set my daughter up. How can I love her?" This time he defended herself assertively. She had a look like the whole world owed her. Her children were the most precious, while others were just a piece of junk.

Though the judges had encountered all sorts of people and were not surprised to see how Ann acted.

Seduced a married man with her youth and beauty, had his children and when she knew all was secured, she kicked Mrs. out and took her place. Classic. And now the last step was to get rid of the girl.

Sean disdained Ann even more. You are saying you love her like your own daughter. A second later, you say you don't like her—all lies.

"How does Mr. Carter feel about my client then?" Sean questioned.

"Well..." Now Ann wouldn't want to just say however she felt. She hesitated for a while before she answered, "I guess it's a mix of hate and love."

The anger in Sean finally exploded. "When her step-mother hates my client so much, what can we expect from her father? He lied to my client, tricked her into signing a contract to rob her of the shares. When he knew my client, his daughter, was almost beaten to death by his son, Zack Carter, he did not do anything about it, but forced her to tell the media that Zack was innocent."

Furiously and enthusiastically, Sean went on, "Now, instead of taking the responsibility, he pretended that he was attacked and in a coma. Meanwhile, you uploaded fake video clips to defame my client, making her vulnerable to the media, to the public. I can't help wondering what you two, Ann Carter, together with your husband, Frank Carter, want my client dead."

His words, his passion, his anger, were felt, and they echoed in everyone's head.

Ann felt the shiver in her back. She almost freaked out, wanting to cut in, but Sean was too quick. Her lawyer realized the situation was going against them, and instantly he stood up, "Objection. Respectable judges, this is an accusation without proof."

The chief judge glanced at him and said, "Overruled." Then he turned to Sean, "however, the attorney should watch your wording."

"Sure. Respectable judges." Sean answered politely.

Shit! What shall we do now? This isn't doing us any good. Ann worried.

Evette was also enraged, but she couldn't hold it back anymore. "Judges, you are unfair. You must have accepted money from Nathalia Carter!"

The judges' face went stern. "Defaming the judges in the court is a serious crime. Take her out."

The guards grabbed Evette's hands and took her out. Evette kicked, screamed, and threw punches like a wild animal.

"Fuck off." Frank Carter kicked the door open, rushed into the courtroom, furious. He glanced around and caught sight of Nathalia. "Nathalia, you little shit! Where's your brother? What did you do to him? He's your brother! How can you be so cruel to him?!" He came running towards Nathalia with his fist high up, ready to attack.

Fortunately, Sean reacted quickly, grabbed Nathalia's arms, and they stepped back just to miss the heavy punch. Nathalia looked calmly at Frank and said, "Dad, what are you talking about? I don't understand."

The guards immediately hurried over, grabbed Frank's arms, held onto his legs, and got him under control.

Ann was more scared than surprised, seeing Frank show up in the court. Has he gone mad?

There was no time for her to think. She ran to Frank, pushed the guards away, and embraced him emotionally, "Frank! Oh, Frank! Finally, you woke up. I was so worried about you. You know Nathalia, our ungrateful daughter suing you..." Ann winked at Frank a few times, hoping he would understand. However, Frank was too furious, anxious, and angry to see.

"Nathalia! Where is Zack?! If anything happens to him, I won't let you off." He glared and yelled at Nathalia.

Nathalia stood behind Sean, looking at Frank with her innocent eyes. The judges were shocked to see the madness of Frank, thinking it must be in the Carters' blood. They were displeased by his behavior but decided to try not to offend him much because of who he was.

Ann pulled Frank's shirt and winked at him a few times, "Honey, what's the matter? You have been in a coma. You must feel confused now?" Frank is usually clear of what he's doing, and he's resolute, but what is he doing now?

Frank rubbed his temples with his thumbs, calmed down a bit, and said, "I just woke up, and my head's still hurting, then I got the news that this devil kidnapped Zack! And she's threatening me with Zack's life..."

Zack was the core of his life, his hope, and expectation, his heir. He would not allow any harm to happen to him. Hence, he took the risk of being found out that he was faking being sick and rushed to the court.

It took Ann by surprise. Sick worrying and fuming, she jumped at Nathalia, "Nathalia! How dare you?! You devil. I'm going to kill you." Zack was Ann's whole life. She depended on him.

Evette was shocked to hear about his brother as well. Her jaw dropped, and she exclaimed, "My God, Nathalia, how can you do this to us? Zack's your brother!"

The court turned into chaos. Fights, shouts, discussions, glares, stares.

Nathalia sat herself down, watched, and played with her hair unconsciously. A disguised and mysterious smile adorned her face.

How Frank wished he could strangle Nathalia there and then, the flames of anger growing higher and higher in him. "Nathalia, tell me where Zack is! Respectable judges, I'm suing her for kidnapping. She should be in jail for the rest of her life!"

The chief judge's face twitched. Both are your children, but one is the spoiled and protected king of the house while the other one is unloved, even hated. What a difference!

Nathalia smiled, with not a hint of sadness or disappointment at all, and said, "Dad, you are looking good. Did you get hurt, really? I wasn't allowed to visit you, and I was really worried about you. But anyway, now that you are here, why not let the judges examine your wound. I've heard that you got attacked on your back, right?"

It was said that Frank Carter was knifed on his back a few times, his heart and blood vessels cut, which led to a great loss of blood, and thus he went into a coma.

Frank, Ann, and Evette's faces went pale. Evette was even shivering.
