147 Chapter 147: Gap Between Two Companies

As soon as she answered, she could hear the anxiousness in Lisa's voice, "Nathalia, we are in trouble."

Lisa was usually calm and rarely panicked. Nathalia asked anxiously, "What happened?"

Though Lisa was experienced, she found it impossible to stay calm this time, "Someone is buying our company..."

Now Nathalia was confused, "Don't worry. It's not a big deal. It's not the first time anyway."

Ever since The Trend started, a lot of companies had offered to buy it. Some had offered reasonable prices, but Nathalia and Lisa wanted to keep their company and had rejected all the offers.

A slightly trembling voice traveled from the other side of the phone, "It's the Davidson Group. Have you not heard anything from Spencer?" Lisa asked.

"What?! Impossible!" Nathalia exclaimed. It came like sudden thunder. Hearing Nathalia's reaction, Lisa understood. Helplessly, she said, "They have come to talk to me and suggested a few proposals. I'm not sure what to do."

The Davidson Group had companies all over the world. The influence they had was unimaginable. The Tread could not stand a chance, and they wouldn't have a choice.

Nathalia clenched her fists, her face cold and contemplating. The Davidson Group? I guess it's because of me. "Don't worry. I will come over soon."

Lisa calmed down a lot after she spoke to Nathalia on the phone. As long as Nathalia's around, we can find a way out. She told herself.

She went back to the office. The representatives from the Davidson Group were still around. They looked serious and unfriendly.

Lisa frowned, sat opposite them, looked them into their eyes, and asked calmly, "What does Mr. Curt Davidson want? I don't think the Davidson Group is involved in the clothing business field."

The gap between the two companies was way too big. The Trend was just a newly-established company while The Davidson Group had companies covering the whole world. Spencer Davidson was in charge of the company in Miami, and the representatives were from Davidson Estate Group, managed by Curt Davidson.

"It's your honor that our company is giving you this offer. Tell us a price, and if it's reasonable, I can decide on behalf of my boss right now." One of the representatives said plainly.

It was true. The Davidson was definitely capable of doing so. It was basically hitting a rock with an egg. It was a losing game.

Lisa took a deep breath, swallowed the fear in her, and managed to reply calmly, "We don't sell. Please leave."

"Don't you threaten us!" Nathalia's voice echoed in the room. Hearing Nathalia's voice, Lisa felt relieved. "Nathalia, you are here."

At the sight of the representative, Nathalia sneered. "It's you. Ben Johnson. When did you start working for the Davidson Group?"

With a victorious smile, Ben took out a business card from his wallet and handed it to Nathalia, "Here's my card."

Nathalia took a glance and saw the title "President Assistant of Davidson Estate Group". She smiled and mocked, "Aha, I see. You have worked your way to befriend Mr. Curt Davidson. Nice one."

That's why he was speaking to me like that last time. He's working for someone big. But what does that arrogant Curt Davidson want? So annoying.

Ben tried to pretend to be humble, but the arrogance on his face was apparent. "I'm very lucky, and it's an honor to work for Mr. Curt Davidson. What about you, Nathalia? Are you a shareholder of The Trend?"

Nathalia sneered and looked at Ben mockingly, "Why did you ask a question that you knew the answer to? Aren't you here for me? Go and tell the old guy that he's always welcomed here to talk to me. I'm always ready."

Her straightforwardness embarrassed Ben terribly. His face turned red, and he persuaded, "Nathalia, why? You can't beat him. Just say yes and be done with it..." He had no idea that Curt Davidson was after Nathalia. As long as he got paid, he would do anything.

The vibe changed since Nathalia arrived. She had Ben under control for sure.

"You know what. Mr. Curt Davidson wanted to pay me to keep me as a mistress, but I'm not interested in old men. He's too old for me." Nathalia teased.

Lisa was shocked to hear what Nathalia said. "Huh? Nathalia! Don't ever agree even if we have to sell the company."

So was Ben. He had not expected anything like it. It was shocking. Nathalia didn't care how others think of her. If she did care, she would not be able to free herself from the Davidson family.

"An old man fancies a young girl, and he thinks he can get anything he wants with the money. Huh. Not with me. But if he wants to buy the company, there's a condition."

Lisa was horrified and shouted, "Nathalia, don't be nonsensical."

Ben wasn't sure what to think. "What's the condition?" He asked about uncertainty.

"I want all his property. All. If you agree with that, then I will sell The Trend. How is that?" Nathalia said with a sneer.

All eyes gazed at Nathalia, amazed and shocked by her request. Ben's lips twitched, "It's better not to displease our boss. If I were you, I would..." Somehow, facing Nathalia, Ben lost his confidence. He had learned that she was not an easy target.

"You'd better not displease me either. If he wants to play this game, I will play along. I have nothing to fear." Nathalia cut him short, shrugged her shoulders, and said casually.

Ben gazed at Nathalia, wondering what she was thinking and why she took such an attitude. "You can't beat him."

Nathalia smiled victoriously at him, "Who says so? And even if I can't beat him, I will fight till the end. Does he think he can just have whatever he wants? No way. Now, please leave."

Ben wanted to say something, but no words came out. Defeated, he left sulkily.

As soon as Ben was out of sight, Lisa asked anxiously, "Nathalia, what happened? How did Curt Davidson get involved? Why don't you ask Spencer for help? He will help, right?" That's an insult to Nathalia. What will people say if they hear about what happened between Curt Davidson and Nathalia?

Nathalia knitted her brows and said, "It won't help. The two of them don't really get along anyway."

Lisa had heard a bit about the Davidson family and wondered worriedly. "What can we do then?" The name Curt Davidson had great influence in the business field. Everyone knew who he was. He could change the world economy if he wanted. He was definitely the last person to displease.

Nathalia was silent for a little while before she answered, "Lisa, if you are worried, you can quit and sell the shares to me. I should have enough money..."

Before Nathalia could finish her words, Lisa interrupted her instantly, "Don't be silly. We created The Trend together. How can we just give up? What's more, you are more important to me. I care more about you than the company. You are like a daughter to me."

Moved, Nathalia leaned her head on Lisa's shoulder, cuddled her, and took a deep breath. She could smell the familiar perfume Lisa wore and wondered if her mother would use the same fragrance.

"Thank you, Lisa," Nathalia said gently.

Lisa stroked Nathalia's hair affectionately as she said softly, "Sweetie, we will fight together, and we will win."

Even if they lost this one, it wouldn't break them. Nathalia was still young. She had plenty of opportunities to come back out and fight again. She was strong-minded, and no one could beat her.
