152 Chapter 152: How Could It Happened?

Sensing that the bodyguard would not let go of her, Anna shouted to her bodyguards, "You guys, get him off me."

Immediately, Anna's bodyguards rushed forward, and a chaotic fight commenced. Suddenly a voice came from behind, "What's going on here? Mrs. Davidson, are you ok?" It was from Nathalia. Carrying a few bags in her hands, she stared at the scene, shocked and confused.

Anna grew angrier at the sight of Nathalia. With her finger pointing at Nathalia's nose, she glared at her and shouted, "I knew it was you! Nathalia Carter, you are shameless."

Nathalia was even more confused, but she wasn't scared, and she retorted coldly, "What the hell are you talking about? Haven't you caused enough trouble yet?"

Anna was trembling with anger and shame. With tears in her eyes, she turned to Mrs. Davidson, "Mummy, please help me, she's bullying me..." It seemed natural that she would address Mrs. Davidson as her mother as she had done so for years.

Mrs. Davidson was still very much confused and had no idea what was going on, but subconsciously, she protected the girl she had spoiled ever since she was little. She yelled at Nathalia, "You little cheeky devil, don't you dare bully Anna. Let her come over here."

Nathalia frowned and said, "Well, it's not up to me." Then, she turned to the bodyguard and the nurse, "Please take Mrs. Davidson home."

"Yes. Miss." The bodyguard obeyed. He wouldn't listen to Anna, but to Nathalia, he was polite and respectful.

It was too obvious, and it upset Anna even more. "Mummy, mummy, why do they treat me like this?" She stomped her feet as she cried.

"Anna, my sweet girl." Mrs. Davidson got so upset that she hurried towards Anna, but suddenly stumbled and slipped. A car was coming. The driver suddenly saw the figure coming out of the road, panicked, and instead of braking, he stepped on the accelerator and ran over Mrs. Davidson.

"No!"

"Mrs. Davidson!"

"Mum!"

Everyone screamed and gasped. Nathalia stared at Mrs. Davidson in a pool of blood, and she shivered terribly. Her body seemed to have turned numb.

How could it happen?!

They dashed towards Mrs. Davidson, who was almost unrecognizable as blood covered and dripping down her head.

Anna cried and ordered her bodyguard to pick up Mrs. Davidson to take her to the hospital. Mrs. Davidson's bodyguard and the nurse were still panicking and didn't know how to respond, extremely scared of the fact that If Mrs. Davidson died, Mr. Spencer Davidson would not let them live either.

All of a sudden, Nathalia seemed to wake up from the shock, and she rushed over, stopped everyone, "Wait, don't move her."

People were outraged to hear Anna's comment. Has she gone mad? She must have been shocked.

Nathalia paid her no attention but squatted down next to Mrs. Davidson. The sight of the dark red blood was a sharp pain through her eyes into her heart. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down. "Shut up. Now, call the ambulance. Inform Mr. Curt Davidson and call for the best doctors in town..." She gave out orders clearly. Her voice was like a wake-up alarm, and everyone listened and followed.

Anna wanted to cut in but failed to find her chance. With her collectedness, Nathalia was in control.

The ambulance finally arrived. Nathalia stayed next to Mrs. Davidson the whole time, holding her hand, hoping to give her some strength and warmth. Seeing the blood all over Mrs. Davidson, Nathalia felt an extremely heavy weight on her heart. "She has to live! She has to live! I can't let her die!" She kept repeating these words to herself.

She couldn't bear to think that the man she loved would lose his mother. She couldn't bear to think of him going through the same pain she had gone and was still going through.

Living the rest of her life without her mother hadn't been easy at all. The pain that came along was beyond endurance. I can't have Spencer suffer from the same pain. Please. God. Let her live. Please. I would even trade twenty years of my life for her to live!

The doctors had been ready and waiting. As soon as the ambulance arrived, Mrs. Davidson was pushed into the emergency room.

Anna got out of the car following the ambulance with tears in her eyes and shouted at Nathalia angrily, "Nathalia Carter, you are responsible for the accident! Let's see if Spencer will ever forget you!"

Without a second thought, Nathalia slapped her hand hard on Anna's cheek. "Bang."

Mrs. Davidson was still alive. Nathalia was worried sick, and all she wanted was Mrs. Davidson to live. She couldn't think of anything else. She needed to stay focused.

However, Anna, who had been calling Mrs. Davidson's mother, was thinking of such terrible thoughts. Was Nathalia responsible? How could she deny all responsibilities? It was outrageous, especially considering how Mrs. Davidson had treated her like her own daughter for all these years.

Was it more important not to get blamed by Spencer than to save Mrs. Davidson's life? Nathalia couldn't understand Anna's way of thinking, and she couldn't agree. It angered her so much, and she would happily give her another slap.

Startled, Anna was silent for a few seconds before she acknowledged what had happened. "How dare you?! Bitch!" She glared at Nathalia and screamed.

"Take this mad girl away. She's too disturbing." Nathalia gave her an icy look, turned around, and hurried to the emergency room. She had no time for such nonsense.

All the best-known doctors gathered around in the operating room. "Please, you have to save her. Whatever the cost is, she has to live. Please..." Nathalia pleaded.

The doctors had seen death many times, and they were used to it, however, knowing that it was Mrs. Davidson, someone of great importance, they couldn't help feeling the pressure.

"We will do the best we can. Who's a family member here? Please sign your name." They couldn't and didn't want to take responsibility. She was Curt Davidson's wife, Spencer Davidson's mother. Who dared to take such a responsibility?

Nathalia understood straightaway. They couldn't reach Curt Davidson, and Spencer was away. She gave it a thought and volunteered, "I will sign it." She understood very well what it meant to sign her name, but she didn't have a choice. She couldn't just watch Spencer's mother die.

The chief doctor let out a sigh of relief. As long as someone takes responsibility, it's ok. He thought as he handed the paper to Nathalia, but Anna came running and snapped the paper away. "Who are you to sign it? Doctor, she's just a stranger. She's not a family member or a relative to Mrs. Davidson. I'm telling you, if anything happens to Mrs. Davidson, the family members won't forgive you," She said hurriedly and in a threatening tone, trying to catch her breath.

The doctors frowned, "But someone has to sign it. Or we can't do the operation." It's impossible that they will take the responsibility themselves.

Just then, an idea came to Nathalia's mind, "Anna Jones, why don't you sign it? You call Mrs. Davidson mum, don't you?"
