165 Chapter 165: There Must Be Some Secrets Untold

A sneer appeared on Nathalia's face. "Happy? What for? Ben Johnson doesn't care about cheating on others or being cheated, but I do. It's ok if my man has no fame or fortune, but he has to be responsible and trustworthy, not someone that cheats on me or others."

The crowd all turned excited, curious, wondering what Nathalia meant by cheating. Is Ben Johnson sleeping with someone else? What is it to do with this engagement party? There must be some secrets untold.

Frank thought furiously, what is she trying to do this time? Why can't she just cooperate once?!

Anne's face turned pale, terribly shocked. Instantly she glared at Nathalia and yelled, "Nathalia, don't talk nonsense. Hurry up and get changed. Everyone's waiting."

Nathalia ignored Anne's comment; instead, she looked at Anne and said with a smile, "Mrs. Carter, your lover is getting engaged to someone else. How does that make you feel?

Everyone gasped. "What?!"

"What the hell?!"

All eyes turned to Anne and Ben. These two are having an affair? Seriously?

Well, it's not impossible. Frank Carter is having fun outside the house. It's likely that his wife is also enjoying herself with some young boys.

And Ben Johnson looks like the type of guys anyway.

It's just shocking to hear as the Carter couple has been showing off so often and so long, making the public believe how much they love each other.

Ben glanced at the staring eyes of the crowd nervously.

Fury and shock were all over Frank's face. He had his hand on his chest as if he was holding the anger down.

Evette was shocked, too, finding it impossible to believe that her own mother was sleeping with Ben.

Anne was the first to react. She snapped furiously, "Nonsense!" Then, she turned to Frank in a begging tone, "Honey, you know she never likes me. I've been good to her, but she just hates me. It's not easy to be a step-mother. It's not easy at all…"

Nathalia interrupted her casually, "There's no need to shout. However, didn't my father know that you are sleeping with Ben Johnson?" Nathalia looked at Frank and saw his stern, almost frightening face. "It seems he didn't know. But anyway, you have been trying to get your lover and me together so as to cover your dirty secret. You've picked the wrong person. I have dignity."

She said it with such certainty that people had the impression that she had proof with her. Also, she had left a good impression on the public, and thus, she had won the trust of them.

Frank was trembling with anger. He had his murderous face on.

Evette started to grow worried and panicked, her heart beating fast. "Dad, please don't believe what she said. She's jealous of us because we are such a loving family..."

With tears running down her face, Anne pleaded, "Honey, don't you trust me? We've been married for years. We have two beautiful kids. You know how much I love you and how much I care about you. Nathalia is lying. She's trying to tear us apart."

Nathalia looked Anne up and down and said, half mockingly, "You were born a prostitute. You are used to sleeping with multiple men. It's your nature. Also, I guess Mr. Carter is getting too old to satisfy your need. It's ok that you are looking for a replacement, but don't use me to cover your filthy secrets."

"Shut up! This is too much. You are making things up. You are insulting me! Everyone knows I was a kindergarten teacher before I married..." Anne snapped.

"A teacher?" Nathalia Laughed out loud. "Wow. Your husband gave you a really ironic identity, didn't he? How could someone who sold her body happily to make money deserve to be called a teacher?! That's a real insult to the profession."

Nathalia let it all out completely, all this anger and frustration accumulated inside her.

Anne's weeping had turned to sob. "Nathalia, why are you doing this to me? You want to die, don't you? Alright, I will kill myself!" She said as she ran towards the wall, intending to bang her head on it.

Evette was terrified. Instantly, she rushed forward and held on to her mother, hugging her. "No. Mum. Please. You can't die. You can't die. This is what she wants. We can't let her destroy us. She's evil..."

One was sobbing while trying to, or pretending to struggle free from the other. The other was crying and begging. What a scene Anne and Evette were making!

The guests and the journalists couldn't keep their eyes off them. This is more exciting than a soap opera!

Nathalia watched them indifferently and mocked, "You love acting, don't you? You look ridiculous, pretending to kill yourself in front of all these people. If you really want to kill yourself, do it quietly, please..."

Just then, a figure rushed towards Nathalia, and fortunately, she reacted quickly, stepped backward, hid behind a guest, and dodged the flying punch.

It was Frank. He glared at Nathalia with his murderous look. The guest in front of Nathalia shivered as he had never seen a look as deadly.

Nathalia had grown immune to it. She had seen it too many times. "Father, you want to hit me? I suggest you give up the idea. The truth can't be hidden. Eventually, it will be known."

Frank found her words threatening, and he was determined to kill her.

Again, he rushed forward, intending to strangle Nathalia. "You are a devil! What have you done to the family?! I brought you up, took care of you, and now how are you treating me?! How evil you are!"

Nathalia swam through the crowd as Frank chased her around and panted heavily. It was absolute absurdness. Cries and screams echoed in the hall.

The guests had never encountered a drama so exciting. Some laughed, some gasped, everyone watched.

After a while, Frank realized what a joke he had made of himself. Not knowing what to do, he wobbled, closed his eyes, and pretended to faint. However, one of the staff from the company who had always been licking Frank's shoes caught him from falling.

"Mr. Frank Carter, you alright? You almost fainted. Lucky that I caught you." The man said, rather triumphantly.

Dumbass! Frank thought angrily.

Nathalia laughed and said, "Come on, Mr. Carter. Are you pretending to faint again? If you do, things might get worse."

Frank took a deep breath, trying to stifle the anger inside him, and said, "If you didn't want to get engaged, why didn't you just say so? Now you have insulted your mother, made a mess, and ruined everything. What are you doing it for?"

His voice was steady and stern as if it was all Nathalia's fault. Nathalia could tell straight away what was in Frank's head. She sneered and replied, "My mother passed away long ago." Then she turned to the crowd, "By the way, if you are interested in some photos I have here..."
