229 Chapter 229: I’m His Wife

Herman Berry, Amy's older brother, was speechless, thinking Silly Amy. She's too eager. The guy won't know to cherish her.

Vincent came up with an idea. He said wittily, "It's your wedding. We shall do it properly. So, I've decided to offer you, my daughter, 20% of the company shares as a wedding present."

20%?! That's a lot. The rest of the family were shocked, especially Herman, who looked rather displeased, though he didn't utter a word. However, both Matt and Curt looked unconcerned still. Noticing their indifferent response, Vincent coughed a deliberate cough and changed his tone as he continued, "and, I have a request from the Davidsons."

Now Amy was worried. Immediately, she interrupted, "Dad, we don't have any requests. I don't think so." She didn't want anyone to spoil her wedding.

Vincent was utterly speechless. Can't she be just a little smart?!

Mrs. Berry patted Amy's shoulder gently and suggested, "Amy, let your father speak please." Amy pouted her lips and complied reluctantly.

Vincent thought it over, then slowly he spoke, weighing his words. "We, the Berry family, are a respectful family in town. Now we are marrying our daughter, and surely we would like the wedding to be decent and proper. We don't want it done in a rush and secretly. We don't want gossips, people talking at the back of my daughter..."

Though indirect, his words were very well understood by everyone. He wanted Curt to confirm to the public that Matt was his son, that he was one of the Davidsons.

The Berry family waited excitedly for Curt's answer. Herman felt less angry about the 20% of the shares now as he knew to have a Davidson as his brother-in-law would bring more benefits.

Surely, Curt Davidson knew exactly what Vincent meant. He lifted his eyebrows and offered what Vincent requested, "Matt is my son. He's Matt Davidson."

It meant that from now on, Matt would be known as the younger son of the Davidsons, equal to Spencer, and the two sons would possibly share the heritage in the future equally.

Matt was a bit taken aback by Curt's response, but he didn't seem happy nor excited.

The Berry family looked at each other and smiled cheerfully. "Wonderful. Wonderful." Vincent exclaimed. Amy was even happier, thinking that now she could be Mrs. Davidson. It was her dream coming true.

'Bang!' Someone pushed the door open loudly. "I don't agree!" The voice said icily.

Shocked, everyone turned to see a beautiful lady standing at the door, furious.

Who the hell is she? The Berry family wondered.

Amy was frightened. Mrs. Davidson? What's she doing here?

His tone was so indifferent that it sounded like he was speaking to a stranger. Mrs. Davidson was enraged. They had been married for many years. She had been crazily in love with him, done so much for him, yet this was what she got at the end.

"What do you mean by I don't have a say? It's not just up to you to decide. I will never allow this bastard to be a Davidson!" Mrs. Davidson snapped. She didn't care how many mistresses he had, but she would not allow anyone to steal anything from her son.

Curt was a bit annoyed. He was arbitrary as he had always been. He made his own decision. "There's no need to argue. I've decided. Matt is also my son. He deserves to be a Davidson."

For over two decades, Matt was called Matt Miller. No one recognized him as part of the Davidson family in public. People had gossiped, pointed, and judged. Curt knew it was his fault. Nancy had passed away, and Curt believed that the public should know that Matt was a Davidson.

Mrs. Davidson was almost shaking from anger. "He deserves it? What about Spencer and I? Do we deserve this?! Huh? Curt Davidson, you have a heart cold as ice! As long as l live, there's only one son in the Davidson family, and that's Spencer! Always!"

Has he ever thought about how we feel?! Has he thought about how people will think of my son, what they will say? Mrs. Davidson thought furiously.

Curt refused to listen. He looked annoyed and reproached sternly, "Stop this nonsense. Behave yourself."

Mrs. Davidson suddenly found Curt very strange, as she had never known him before. Is this really the man I was once madly in love with? How can he be so selfish, cruel? How can he care not a bit about his wife and son's feelings?

She heaved a sigh and stated, "I am behaving myself, very well. Curt Davidson, don't make things worse."

"I'm in charge. I decide on family issues. Your opinions are not welcomed." Curt said steadily.

"Curt Davidson..." Mrs. Davidson was so furious that her voice was trembling. Does he think of me as nobody? I'm his wife! The real wife! The only one! I'm Mrs. Davidson.

They had been married for so many years, and he had done so much to hurt her. He didn't even respect her, let alone love.

He had been enjoying himself, sleeping with countless women, and had kids with them. Yet, he spoke as if he had done nothing wrong.

Matt heaved a sigh and said, "Please stop. Dad, I don't care if I'm Matt Davidson, or Matt Miller, or Matt Johnson. It's just a name. There's no need to argue because of me."

Mrs. Davidson was rather surprised to hear so. He's not like his mother. Good that he knows better.

"There you go. Did you hear that? He doesn't want to be part of the Davidsons. Good that he's not too dumb..."

Just thinking that Nancy almost killed her son, Mrs. Davidson was determined not to accept Matt as a Davidson.

However, now that Matt said he didn't care, Curt was more certain about his own decision. "He IS part of the family. Though he's young, he understands. Look at you. Don't you know how to behave yourself..."

Mrs. Davidson was glaring at Curt, thinking, what a jerk! He's not my husband. He doesn't love me! He even hates me.

When she was about to explode, Nathalia cut in, "I've just paid the bill. Shall we go home?"

Everyone turned to look at the beautiful and innocent-looking girl standing behind Mrs. Davidson. Curt stopped talking, and he frowned at the sight of Nathalia.

Matt's face lit up, surprised, and happy to see the familiar face. "Nathalia, nice to see you here. How have you been?" He spoke to her like a close friend. He sounded happy, and everyone sensed it.

On the contrary, Amy wasn't a bit happy to see her at all. She felt threatened. "Nathalia Carter, again! Why do you want to? Why are you always interfering? Are you stalking us?"

Nathalia frowned, utterly puzzled by her ridiculousness. "I'm stalking you? Why? Are you doing something indecent?"
