241 Chapter 241: She Hesitated

Spencer opened the door, extended his hand. Nathalia took it and stepped out of the car. "Babe, are you ready?" Spencer asked, his voice was trembling slightly, so was his hand. Nathalia felt his nervousness.

She looked up and saw the sign at the door. Her heart started beating fast.

"I. It's so sudden. I didn't..." She then remembered that Vegas was not only a place for entertainment but was also known as a place where there were no limits, and weddings were no exception. It had witnessed millions of couples start their happily ever after there.

Spencer gazed at Nathalia anxiously. "You are not changing your mind, are you? Don't you trust me? I will make you happy, I promise."

He had proposed, and she had said yes. It was natural that they would get married, and there was no need for her to feel worried.

Doesn't she want to marry me anymore? Spencer felt a sudden heartache, thinking worriedly.

Nathalia sensed his worries and shook her head. "I trust you, of course, I do. It's just... you were so angry this morning, and all of a sudden, you...I mean, it's not something trivial, getting married. To me, it means we will be together for the rest of our life, through thick and thin..."

She couldn't explain why she felt a sudden panic. She believed in tradition in terms of love. She longed for a love that would last forever, to live a life with the man she loved. She knew that they both grew up in a complicated family, and both were very sensitive.

She hesitated.

Spencer kept his eyes on her. "All you need to say now is yes or no." He asked one last time.

He knew that it was now entirely up to her, and he had no idea what to do if she said no.

Numerous thoughts went through Nathalia's mind. She didn't say anything for a while. Then, she made up her mind. "Spencer Davidson, if you ever break your promise or cheat on me, you are dead. You hear me?"

She fought against all the worries and fear in her. She wanted to love without fear. I can never predict or control the future. Now I know we love each other. She thought to herself.

The frown disappeared from Spencer's face, so did his worries, and was replaced by a happy grin. "Never ever will I break my promise!" He almost shouted excitedly.

He was not like his father, and he would not be. He had promised himself that he would never treat his loved ones the way his father did. Nathalia was not like his mother because she would not compromise because she fought, and she had courage.

She was the woman he wanted, the brightest star in his life.

The couple gazed at each other, their eyes filled with affection, their heart brimming with love.

It all happened within minutes. As soon as they got the paper, Spencer signed his name, quick and determined.

He handed the pen to Nathalia. Nathalia took a good look at him, accepted the pen, looked at the paper steadily. There's no turning back once I signed my name.

Spencer waited. "You can still change your mind." He teased, yet his tone betrayed his nervous heart.

Nathalia bit her lips slightly and signed. Her hand trembled. I'm a lucky one to meet and be with the man I love. He's not afraid, and I shouldn't be.

The minister looked at the young couple merrily, "Congratulations!" he grinned at them while thinking, what a beautiful young couple! A perfect match.

"Thank you." Spencer replied with a grin and took out a little box of chocolate from his pocket and handed it to Nathalia, "Happy marriage, Mrs. Davidson. Now, where shall we go and celebrate?"

Nathalia took the chocolate, opened one, and put it in her mouth. Delicious! He's prepared everything. He must have planned this long ago.

They left the chapel, holding hands. When they got back into the car, Nathalia still felt like she was in a dream. Have I just got married to Spencer? The question kept knocking at the door of her mind.

Spencer noticed that Nathalia was absent-minded, and he bent over to fasten the seat belt for her. "What's in your little head, Mrs. Davidson?"

On hearing Spencer addressing her as Mrs. Davidson, Nathalia turned to look at him with puzzled eyes, like a curious kitty.

"Come here." Nathalia stroked his face. "Is it real? Am I dreaming?"

Spencer made a funny face. Nathalia laughed.

"Of course, it's real." He embraced her tightly. "We are married. You are my wife. You are Mrs. Davidson, and you can't regret anymore." He grinned happily and kissed her on her cheeks.

She's my wife, my other half. From now on, we can be together forever. We will go to bed together and wake up next to each other. Whatever happens, we have each other.

His embrace and love melted Nathalia's doubts. She put her arms around his neck and said, "I will never regret it. I'd love to live this life with you." She spoke what her heart was telling her. She wanted to be with him and looked forward to their life ahead together.

"This is the best day of my life. I'm the luckiest man." Spencer whispered into her ear. He stroked her body gently as his lips moved from her ear to her neck and down to her breasts.

Excited and impatient, Spencer drove back to their hotel as fast as he could. As soon as they arrived, he got out of the car, threw the key to the valet, carried Nathalia in his arms, and ran to the lift. The valet started, shocked, and hardly had time to figure out what was happening.

Nathalia blushed and buried her cheeks in Spencer's chest, like a little kitty cat. Her heart was blossoming, in love.
