251 Chapter 251: It’s Expected

"Nathalia and I have been together for quite a long time. It's natural and expected that we got married. It's meant to happen. Why? You all seem very surprised." He said matter-of-factly.

Is it expected? Well, for normal people, perhaps, but Spencer Davidson?! No way. This is unbelievable.

"This will probably affect your popularity, Mr. Spencer Davidson, now that you've announced your marriage, but it's probably for the better." A female journalist said emotionally, tears in her eyes.

Though a lot of them were jealous, they were more envious and happy for Nathalia. People had learned what Nathalia was like, what she had been through, especially with her family. She deserves love. She deserves to be happy.

Spencer laughed, thinking, popularity? I'm not a superstar. I don't care about popularity. "I'm happy that I'm married to this beautiful girl, and I'm happy to share the news with the world. It's a blessing to be with Nathalia, and I'm excited about our life together ahead. How others think of our marriage doesn't mean anything to me. If anyone can't accept it, it's their problem."

Nathalia blushed, gazing at Spencer affectionately. She felt so loved.

The media knew Nathalia rather well. They had seen how brave she was. She wasn't like any other carefree girl with money and no worries. She had fought for her life.

They had pitied her, prayed for her, and now we're happy to see that she was happy that she was in love. It made them feel relieved. She's been through so much, and finally, finally, she found love.

"Congratulations!" Someone shouted cheerfully.

"Congratulations!" Others chorused.

"I'm happy for you, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. I'm sure your husband will take care of you."

"Yeah. Mr. Spencer Davidson, your wife, has been through so much. She deserves love."

To everyone's surprise, the journalists were expressing their genuine concern for Nathalia and sincere blessings. Perhaps, they had seen the rare purity and sincerity in Nathalia.

With tears in her eyes, Nathalia felt touched by their good wishes, and more by the recognition that there was a pure heart in everyone. "Thank you kindly. Spencer and I will look after each other. We love each other, and we love ourselves. I'm happy. We are happy." To truly love oneself was possibly the biggest challenge in one's life.

"And I'm happy for you." A female journalist said with a smile.

Amy was completely shocked to see the reaction from the media. What's wrong with these people? What the hell are they doing? Why are they speaking like they are doing a charity show or something?

"Spencer, Nathalia..." Matt spoke.

Spencer looked at him with a subtle sneer on his face. "Shouldn't you say congratulations?"

Matt hesitated and changed the subject, "Have you told dad?" he asked.

Intentionally, Spencer's arm wrapped Nathalia tighter as if he feared that someone might take her away from him. Coldly, he said, "There's no need to tell him. It's none of his business."

Amy watched quietly while anger and jealousy filled her heart fiercely till she couldn't hide it anymore. "Spencer, this girl is evil! You don't know what you are married to!"

Slap!

That was what she got as a response, a quick and loud slap. Her hand on her cheek, she stared at Spencer in disbelief. Did he just slap me in front of everyone?! He's just as ridiculous as Nathalia Carter! No wonder they are a couple! They are the same! Arrogant and barbarian!

Spencer glared at her. "Apologize! How dare you insult my wife!" he retorted furiously. He could not allow anyone to say anything against Nathalia. The crowd was rather shocked by the sudden change of scene but was supportive of how Spencer reacted.

"Brilliant. She asked for it." Someone commented.

"Yeah. That will teach her a lesson." Another voice supported. It seemed like Amy wasn't very welcomed, despite her wealth and good look.

"Mr. Spencer Davidson is very protective of you, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. You are a lucky one."

"So is Mr. Spencer Davidson. They are both lucky to have each other." The crowd commented.

Amy glared at the crowd angrily but dared not say another word. Defeated and embarrassed, she retreated to her car and drove away.

Matt stood still in the same place, quietly. Spencer didn't even take another look at him and left with Nathalia.

Just as they sat down in the French café, Spencer's phone rang. It was Curt. "Spencer! How could you not even inform me first?! What am I to you? Huh?"

News traveled fast indeed. Curt had already found out just ten minutes after Spencer announced the news.

Spencer passed the menu to Nathalia while still holding the phone. His face looked calm. "I would like to ask you the same question." He said coldly.

Nathalia shook her head slightly, wondering if they had always been like this, never able to get along. She had a quick look at the menu and knew what she wanted, but she asked the waiter to come back later to take the order as Spencer was on the phone. Looking out of the window, she thought happily, is this how it feels like to be someone's wife? It's exciting and sweet.

Curt was furious. "You! You are ridiculous. I guess you don't want to get any request from me!"

Spencer didn't care much what he said. All he does is threaten me. "I will get my bequest. If it costs the life of your beloved son to get it, I don't care." Spencer replied icily.

Nathalia's heart felt a sudden weight and heaved a quiet sigh. Whose fault is it?
