255 Chapter 255: She Hasn’t Changed

Before Spencer finished, Nathalia forked the food she picked out and put it in her mouth.

Spencer grinned and patted her head, "That's my good girl." It seemed like Nathalia really loved kids, and as soon as their kids, well, in the future, were concerned, she obeyed instantly.

Lisa and Sophie watched in disbelief. Sophie dropped her jaw and stared at Nathalia, "Nathalia, you, you are going to be a mum soon? But, you are still a university student."

"Well. I'm not pregnant yet, but we are hoping to have kids soon. Why? Who says university students can't have kids?" Nathalia replied casually.

"It...it's just..." Sophie didn't know how to think anymore. "It's just a bit strange." Nathalia and Sophie were the same age, but Nathalia was married and thinking of being a mother soon while Sophie was still single. It was difficult for her to understand all of a sudden.

"But, anyway, as long as you are happy and I get to be your children's godmother." Sophie shook her questions away and added cheerfully. She was, in fact, very fond of kids herself and very patient with them as well.

"No problem," Nathalia said without hesitation. The two girls exchanged a smile. The tension and distance seemed to have disappeared between them.

When they said goodbye after a delightful time at dinner, Lisa gave Nathalia a hug and said, "I'm really happy for you, Nathalia. I can see that he loves you. Happy marriage."

Tears filled Nathalia's eyes. She nodded and said, "Thank you."

***

The passionate night on the bed left Nathalia more than satisfied and exhausted the next morning. She couldn't get up early, and Spencer had to go to work on his own. Before he left, Spencer asked his mum a few times to leave Nathalia to sleep a bit more and reminded her of this and that concerning Nathalia's wellness.

Mrs. Davidson threw an impatient glance at Spencer at the end till he realized how much he'd been droning on. Spencer grinned at her and said goodbye.

It was about one o'clock in the afternoon when Nathalia got up. She had lunch with Mrs. Davidson, had a little chat, and wanted to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Mrs. Davidson had been following a soap opera and was terribly addicted. She insisted on staying at home and watched the show.

Nathalia shrugged her shoulders and said cheekily, "Alright, Mrs. soap opera addict, I will see you later then."

She put on a light green dress and her white summer shoes, a bit of lipstick. The mirror showed a pretty and radiant looking face. She smiled at herself, pleased with her look.

Though Nathalia didn't like the attention much, she understood and accepted it gratefully.

Not long after they left the house, a black sports car pulled over. A few tough-looking men in black suits got out of the car and came walking towards Nathalia.

The bodyguards were alert and quickly gathered around Nathalia. The men stopped a few steps away from Nathalia. The one at the front said politely, "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, please come with us."

Everyone was shocked and puzzled by his politeness.

"What's this about? Kidnapping? Well, if so, I'm not going."

The man smiled kindly and passed Nathalia a phone. "Here's a phone call for you."

As they behaved politely and reasonably, Nathalia nodded, and a bodyguard took the phone and handed it to Nathalia.

"Hello." She said after a few seconds' hesitations.

"It's me." Nathalia recognized the voice straight away, low and a bit arrogant. It was Curt.

"How can I help you, Mr. Curt Davidson? Can't you just talk on the phone instead of sending your bodyguards to take me away?" Nathalia said indifferently.

Curt sighed quietly, she hasn't changed.

"My son won't listen to me, so I have to ask you to help. Don't you worry, I won't hurt my family?" Curt said calmly and clearly.

Family? He sees me as part of the family. Nathalia thought.

"Well, it sounds like a big favor you are asking me," Nathalia said coldly, thinking about what he had done to Spencer and his mother.

"Hurry up," Curt said impatiently. "When Spencer gets here, and you are not around, he's going to get mad."

What? Spencer's not a kid anymore. Nathalia thought. Why is he always so demanding?

After a little thought, Nathalia compromised and agreed to go. Before she left, she gave Mrs. Davidson a call to tell her. Mrs. Davidson was worried and angry about hearing so, reminding her to take care of herself more than once.

Nathalia had to reassure her a few times to settle down her worried heart. Then she called Spencer, but somehow it couldn't get through.

The men were patient with Nathalia. They didn't hurry to her or complain but waited quietly.

Nathalia wondered why Spencer wasn't answering the phone and got into the car.

It was a quaint café with a beautiful garden where the men led Nathalia to. A series of exotic displays was pleasant to the eyes, a carved wooden bridge over a pond of lotus flowers, a passage with two walls of vines of roses in blossom, meandering stone paths... It was as if stepping into a different world. Nathalia liked it a lot, amazed by its beauty. Great choice. She thought.

As she walked through the garden and was ushered into a private room, she saw three familiar faces, Curt, Matt, and Amy.

Curt was in casual attire today, which was rare, yet his air of authority remained apparent. He nodded to Nathalia when he saw her coming in.

Matt was dressed in a blue suit, looking bright and upbeat, while Amy was in her usual fancy look, adorned with blinking jewels and wearing strong perfume. The two were chatting cheerfully. As soon as Amy saw Nathalia, the smile on her face froze, her eyes opened wide, and she said in a demanding tone, "What is she doing here?"

Nathalia shrugged her shoulders indifferently and said coldly, "It looks like I'm not welcomed here, I shall leave then."

As Nathalia was about to turn around, Curt said immediately, "Come, take a seat."
