297 Chapter 297: How Has He Been?

Spencer smiled a bitter smile as a response.

Just then, they heard the door open. Mrs. Davidson rushed to the door instantly. "Nathalia, you are at home." She exclaimed excitedly.

Spencer's body turned stiff. He looked towards the door eagerly, yet somehow he retreated to his room and stood behind the door, listening.

"Yeah. I got some take-away. Please don't wait for me for dinner." Nathalia replied with a smile. She had been avoiding Spencer. Huh! I don't want to see him yet.

Then she seemed to remember something and handed one of the bags to Mrs. Davidson, "Here. Chocolate muffins for you." She said with a smile.

Mrs. Davidson was pleased, thinking what a sweet daughter-in-law I have! She then quickly went into Spencer's room and dragged him out to the door. "Nathalia, Spencer's got tickets to the latest movie, and he wants to go with you."

Seeing Spencer, Nathalia was a bit surprised. He's back early today. Or has he not going to work? She wondered.

Spencer couldn't take his eyes off Nathalia. She's lost weight and is as beautiful as always.

When their eyes met, Nathalia could feel her heart beating fast. I haven't seen him for a few days. How has he been? He looks a bit tired. Perhaps he hasn't slept well either. She could see the expectation in his eyes, and she almost nodded and said yes.

However, memories of the incident at the hotel room reappeared in her mind, and she turned her face away and said quietly, "Thanks for the invitation, but I'd rather stay home."

Disappointed, Spencer turned around and went back into his room without a word.

Nathalia rolled her eyes, cursing silently, huh! She went back to her apartment and slammed the door closed.

Though both missed each other and wanted to be with each other terribly, they both pretended to be cool and ignored each other. Mrs. Davidson felt helpless. "What are these two doing?!" She heaved a heavy sigh. Silly Spencer, why can't he just apologize and show some affection?

As soon as Nathalia got home, she crashed onto the sofa, sulking. What does he mean?! Huh! He didn't even say a word and just walked off! Alright, so he's ignoring me, then I will do the same.

Just then her phone rang and excited, she quickly fished it out from her bag and without taking a look at who was calling, she answered, "Hello?"

"Hey, Nathalia." A familiar voice came from the other end. Disappointed, Nathalia lay back down. I thought it was Spencer.

"What do you want?" she said plainly.

"Alright, I will be there in the afternoon," Nathalia said casually, thinking it was about work and so she should be there.

Her last class finished around ten-thirty in the morning, and she went straight to the company after class. When she walked in, people greeted her courteously as usual, yet the way they looked at her seemed a bit strange.

Obviously, the news about the incident had spread all over town, especially that Nathalia had decided to take it to court.

Nathalia had grown used to people looking at her differently, so she paid it no attention and replied with a polite greeting and an elegant smile.

"She seems to be very calm and not affected at all." People murmured and gossiped.

"Well, Mr. Spencer Davidson didn't do anything wrong. Why should she be mad?"

When the news just came out, people were skeptical, wondering if Spencer Davidson had actually had sex with Anna Jones. However, when they heard that Nathalia was suing Anna Jones, everyone was quite certain of Spencer's innocence.

Though the case hadn't happened, Anna Jones had already had a terrible time and got her punishment.

"Anna Jones must have been out of her mind. She had no idea who she was dealing with."

"Yeah. I've never known anyone so shameless. By the way, I've decided not to shop at Jones Mall anymore."

Jones Mall was the Jones' enterprise, an international shopping center that had branches all over the world. Ever since the incident, their stock market had been going downhill. Though the Jones had a press conference declaring the innocence of Anna Jones, it was useless. No one believed it.

Everyone had common sense. If it was someone else instead of Spencer Davidson, Jones might have been able to persuade the public. Some said the Jones had to go to Spencer's place to plead and beg, but Spencer had kicked them out. There were even rumors that Anna attempted suicide and was luckily rescued in time. Yet, still, Spencer showed them no pity.

It was obvious that the Jones had seriously enraged Spencer this time.

"Neither will I. I find her really repulsive. It's disgusting what she did."

"However, I don't understand why Mrs. Nathalia Davidson attempted to take it to court. It can't be good for her or her husband's reputation either."

"Are you new here?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Well, let me tell you the glorious history of our incredible Mrs. Nathalia Davidson. She's no one to be taken advantage of. What's she's achieved impressively."

"I'm excited. Please, tell me."

The staff chatted excitedly.

Nathalia had expected gossips and chats and genuinely didn't care. With the company of a few bodyguards, she went straight up to the eighteenth floor.

A secretary had been waiting at the lift. As soon as he saw Nathalia, he greeted her eagerly and ushered her to the office. Nathalia's bodyguards stood by the door with a certain distance from Nathalia but kept their eyes on her cautiously.

They had learned very well how unexpected accidents could happen to their mistress. Ben frowned at the sight of the bodyguards and said, "Would you please ask them to wait outside? I have something very important to tell you." He felt pressure being watched.

Seated on the sofa, playing with her hair, Nathalia said casually and clearly, her attitude proud as usual, "You have fifteen minutes and no more."
