299 Chapter 299: What A Drama Queen

Nathalia burst out laughing. Hasn't he learned his lesson yet? It's rather impressive. He's been defeated every time, yet he managed to stand up again and again.

Watching Nathalia laughing, Ben felt utterly frustrated. She makes me so angry every time. I still haven't found a way to deal with her yet! He took a deep breath and slowly calmed himself down. "Nathalia, aren't you worried? You know, as long as you are nice to me, I would do anything for you. Nathalia, you've always been in my heart. My feelings for you have never changed..."

He suddenly changed his attitude and looked at Nathalia affectionately. The bodyguards looked at each other and rolled their eyes on hearing Ben's words. He was acting arrogant just a minute ago, and now he's just switched! Yuck! Mrs. Nathalia Davidson is right, hes dumb and an asshole.

Nathalia had a yawn as if she was bored, and very casually, she asked, "How's Evette doing in the asylum?"

She sounded so casual, yet it sent a shiver down Ben's spine. "Why? Why? Why are you asking about her? Don't you think, you, you are too cruel, treating your sister like that?"

Ben had been to see Evette once. The lunatic asylum had high walls like a jail, with electric wires surrounding the whole building. It made him shiver as soon as he stepped into the place.

Evette was wearing the patient's uniform. She looked like she had aged badly, with wrinkles on her forehead. At the sight of Ben, Evette screamed and rushed towards him, waving her arms, trying to punch him. She was behaving like a real lunatic. But she was normal when she was sent here. Ben had thought.

The bright smile remained on Nathalia's face. "Oh, why did you say so? I believe I did the right thing. The asylum is the perfect place for her."

Ben shivered slightly, yet he still had the guts to retort. "Nathalia, you won't always be so lucky! Don't be too arrogant. One day, you..."

The door flew open. Standing by the door was a tall and handsome figure. He had his eyes on Ben, and very steadily, he walked towards him. "Ben Johnson, what do you want this time?"

He questioned icily.

Ben's face went pale, and he stepped backward. Shaking his head frantically, he stammered, "I... I."

Nathalia was surprised to see Spencer. "What brought you here?" she asked.

Spencer stood next to her, protectively. "I was passing by." He tried to appear casual.

Passing by? That's a lame excuse. Nathalia thought. Can't he just say that he's worried about me and has come for me?

The couple stood next to each other, both silent. Tension suddenly appeared in the room.

He was worried. There was so much that he wanted to tell her, yet he had failed to speak. He had not known that he could be so weak when he was with her. He missed her terribly, yet he was afraid to tell her because he was scared to be rejected.

When he heard that Nathalia was meeting Ben today, he was excited, thinking, here comes a chance that I have a great excuse to show up and protect her. So, here he was.

Nathalia pouted her lips, wondering what does he mean?

The two were both thinking of only each other, though both were looking at Ben.

"Mr. Spencer Davidson, I've heard that you were taken advantage of by..." Ben plucked up the courage to break the silence but was quickly cut short by Spencer's icy glare, which made him panic.

Spencer lifted his brows and demanded, "By what?"

Ben stammered, "I mean, err, I mean..." He was thinking how he could now find an excuse, then he caught sight of Nathalia looking at Spencer with such affection in her eyes, and somehow he felt jealous and changed his mind. "I mean, to be honest, you are the one that took advantage of her. You are a man, after all. And now you are accusing her. Don't you think it's rather unfair?"

However, as soon as he said it, he regretted it. Now I'm in trouble!

Spencer glared at him, then smiled. "Please take Mr. Johnson." He said to the bodyguards, who quickly obeyed and each took Ben's arm on either side.

Frightened, Ben struggled. "What are you doing? This is illegal! Violence is not allowed. I will call the police!"He screamed frantically.

Yet both Nathalia and Spencer paid him no attention. He then recalled what happened to Evette, and he panicked even more. Spencer had ordered Evette to be sent to the asylum after what she did to Nathalia.

"Let go of me! Let go of me!" He went on screaming. When he saw his secretary at the door as the bodyguards were taking him out, his face lit up as if he had seen his savior. "Call the police! Quick!" There was only the president's, the CEO's office as well as the secretary's office on the eighteenth floor.

The secretary stared at Ben, his jaw dropped, trying to understand what was happening.

"But...err..." The secretary muttered, confused. Why should we call the police?

Enraged, Ben shouted at him, "What the hell are you standing there for? Call the police right now!"

The secretary was terrified. He picked up the phone, hesitated, and asked, "But, what should I say?"

It then dawned on Ben that he had no idea either. He didn't know what Spencer was planning, where he intended to take him to. Is he kidnapping me?

Spencer sneered and finally said, very calmly, "I was just thinking of taking Mr. Johnson out for lunch. I have no idea why he is so frightened and even thinking of bothering the police?"

The secretary put down the phone. What a drama queen! He thought with disdain.
