334 Chapter 334: What Do They Want Now?

She put on some make-up and her sunglasses, intending to hide the sleeplessness away before she set off.

She stood outside the room where Mrs. Davidson was staying and peeked inside to see that Mrs. Davidson was lying on the bed. She didn't know if she was asleep or awake and dared not go in to disturb her.

Spencer saw Nathalia at the door. His face lit up, and he went out to see her immediately. He looked even more tired than Nathalia.

They went to a café near the hospital for breakfast. Nathalia asked about Mrs. Davidson, and Spencer only replied with a sigh.

Sue had tried every way to persuade Spencer to leave Nathalia. She cried; she begged; she threatened, and when she realized that Spencer just wouldn't agree, she wept all night.

Spencer had not slept at all. If it went on like this, everyone would go mad soon. It's been so many years. Why can't she let go still? She's going to divorce her dad, yet she still lives in the past. And now she even blames Nathalia for everything. I just don't understand.

Nathalia didn't like pursuit but heaved a sigh as well. Seeing her worried face, Spencer tried to cheer her up and said, "You have two classes this morning. Let's enjoy breakfast, and I will take you to campus."He remembered very well Nathalia's schedule.

Nathalia shook her head. She tied the collar of his shirt affectionately and said gently, "I will go alone. You should go and get a little nap before work." It must be the most tiring for him, physically and mentally.

Spencer took her hand and gave it a kiss. "Nathalia, I'm the luckiest man to be your husband." Though he had said it often, somehow, it sounded more special than ever this time.

It swept the sadness away and brought a smile to Nathalia's face. That's all that's needed, to love and be loved and be with him.

The bell rang and brought an end to the first class. Nathalia found it difficult to focus in class. During the break, she made some coffee and took out some cookies from her bag.

Just as she was half daydreaming while sipping coffee, someone shouted outside the classroom, "Nathalia, come here!"

Startled, Nathalia spilled the coffee a bit. She turned around to see Amy Berry and her sister standing by the door. What do they want now? Why can't they just leave me alone?

Seeing that Nathalia wasn't responding, Amy yelled again, "Are you deaf? Nathalia, come here!"

Nathalia was speechless. Why do I have to listen to you? What a joke!

Amy looked annoyed. Though she had applied quite a thick layer of make-up on, it didn't hide her weariness. It seemed like the cancellation of the wedding had hit her quite badly.

Nathalia covered her forehead with her hand and sighed. "You are the one that should be guilty. You are a kidnapper and almost a murderer. You don't deserve anyone's respect."It really puzzled her why there were people like Amy Berry. She's the one in the wrong, but she acts so righteously and accuses others instead! And it's not the first time!

Amy's eyes were glaring red with anger. She retorted furiously, "You made me do it! It was all because of you! It's your fault!"

My God! I made her kidnap my friend? What's wrong with her? She just doesn't make sense.

The crowd watched and listened with excitement as well as confusion. The news about the cancellation of the wedding was all over town, and of course, the students had gossiped and talked.

People had learned that Matt was determined while Amy was begging not to cancel it. But what had it got to do with Nathalia? It was very odd. And kidnapping and murder! What was the secret behind it? What was the story?

The crowd wondered curiously.

Kelly pulled Amy's sleeve gently and whispered, "Amy, calm down. Let me talk to her." Kelly was dressed in fashion, looking sharp and smart.

She took a deep breath and smiled a forced smile, "Nathalia, Amy only wanted to warn you a bit. She didn't really mean any harm. You have overreacted, which is..."

What?! What kind of shit is she speaking? Nathalia was utterly defeated by their nonsense. "Over-reacted? Wow. Now I truly understand what nonsense means. Thank you." She said sarcastically.

Thinking back to what had happened in the warehouse angered her even more. They meant to have her assaulted and killed. That was their intention. Just a warning. Ha. Bullshit!

Kelly looked a bit embarrassed and annoyed. She tried to keep her patience and continued, "Nathalia, you are too impulsive. Just listen to me first. Alright, it is my sister's fault this time, and we have come here to apologize. Would you please forgive her?"

She paused, her eyes filled with tears, and said pleadingly, "You know, our parents are very angry and upset with what Amy did, and they said that if you don't forgive her, they will not welcome Amy home anymore. It's really serious. Please, Nathalia, forgive Amy."

Just a few seconds ago, they were accusing Nathalia, saying she overreacted, and now they were begging her to forgive them. This was odd. Are they mental? Nathalia thought. She had a sip of her coffee, cleaned the desk slowly, had a yawn, and turned away to look out of the window. I'd better ignore them.

Seeing that Nathalia wasn't even paying attention while she pleaded with sincerity, Kelly was enraged, but she managed not to show it, and instead, she winked at her sister. Amy got the hint. She pouted her lips, and very unwillingly, she said, "I apologize. It's my fault. I didn't mean to harm you. I swear." It was an effort for her to say sorry as she hated Nathalia very much deep down in her heart. It's her that has put me in this. Matt broke up with me because of her! I had to be humiliated because of her! I hate her!

Spoiled as she had been, she hadn't really learned to hide her true feelings very well. Though she apologized, her tone implied resentment.

Nathalia sneered and thought, what terrible acting this is!

Desperately, Amy secretively pinched herself at the arm hard, and the pain brought tears to her eyes. She went on pleading for forgiveness.

Seeing her tearful eyes and hearing her pitiful begging, the crowd started to grow sympathetic. And one after another, they joined in to persuade Nathalia. "Nathalia, why don't you forgive her this time whatever happened? She seems to be truly sorry."

"Yeah. Everyone makes mistakes now and then. We are no saints, right. Forgive and forget."

Amy thought now she had the support from the crowd and ventured on, "Nathalia, see, everyone can tell that I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Can you please tell Matt that you are not angry with me anymore so he can forgive me and we can be together again? I won't upset you again, I promise, though I didn't mean to either..."

She might sound apologetic, yet what she was saying had suggested that there was a story behind it. It got the crowd wondering and guessing.
