356 Chapter 356: Hoping To Meet Her

Without taking a look at Zack, Nathalia got into the car and told the driver the address.

Zack shouted after the car, "Nathalia!" and stomped his feet angrily.

After a little while, Nathalia found Wendy's house in a small alley. It was a beautiful house with a garden. The fragrance of flowers greeted her as she went in.

"Hey, how have you been? Come on in." Wendy welcomed her warmly with a smile.

Nathalia noticed that Wendy had really dressed herself up today, from head to toe. She seemed to be ready to walk the red carpet.

Wendy led Nathalia straight into the dressing room and threw a dress into her arms. "Here, put it on." She said hurriedly.

Nathalia looked at the blue evening dress in her arms, then looked at Wendy with a puzzled look, "What is it for?"

With clasped hands, Wendy looked at Nathalia with a pitiful look and said in a pleading tone, "Please go to the party with me. I'm feeling so agitated, and God knows why."

Wendy had also been invited to the party and was getting ready, but somehow she had been feeling worried, which was rather abnormal as she was an experienced attendee to all kinds of parties and events.

She thought, to calm herself down, she needed someone's company. She went through her contact list and could only think of Nathalia.

Those so-called friends she made in the filming industry only cared about what profits they could get.

She didn't want to lose this great chance. If Nate Morgan likes me, I'm going to be big! I don't dream of marrying into the Morgans, but just a one-night stand will do! Imagine if he invests in me! Or even if I can only leave a good impression so that he remembers me. It's something.

Wendy thought that there was no disagreement and fights between her and Nathalia. Also, Nathalia was married to Spencer, and Nathalia did not covet what she usually had to struggle for, which made Nathalia the best choice.

"So if I go with you, you won't feel agitated?" Nathalia rolled her eyes.

Noticing that Nathalia wasn't totally rejecting, Wendy, nodded her head encouragingly with a grin, "Right! You have the magic of calming me down!" Though she was trying to talk Nathalia into agreeing, she did mean what she said. The serenity Nathalia possessed did relax her. She even found her mood delighted.

Nathalia didn't really want to go, but Wendy went on pleading for a good while, and she had to say yes at the end. Alright, I will go with her then. I've got no other plans anyway.

Nathalia looked at her in the mirror and asked curiously, "What happened with you and Steve Walken?"

Nathalia recalled seeing Wendy and Steve last time and was quite sure that they were in a relationship or they at least saw each other.

Wendy pouted her lips, the cheerfulness on her face gone, "We don't really speak to each other anymore. I heard that he has a new girlfriend, but I..." she hesitated.

"But?" Nathalia asked. She doesn't look upset, but I can't tell if she cares or not. Sometimes, Nathalia felt like she was from a different planet than other girls. She believed that when in love, one remained loyal and loved one person only. She disliked flirting and unclear relationships with men.

However, it was very common to see girls change partners regularly, which she couldn't understand. Perhaps I'm too conservative? Anyway. It's what I'm like.

"Nothing." Wendy said and changed the subject with a grin, "Wow! You look stunning! I love it. See, you should dress up more often."

Nathalia stood up and turned around, looking at herself in the mirror. "I still look beautiful when I don't dress up," she replied casually.

The mirror reflected a youthful and pretty face with a pair of eyes that shone as if they would speak to you. Wendy couldn't help gazing at Nathalia for a while, then she said, "Hmm. Should I regret having asked you to go to the party with me? Everyone will be gazing at you and ignoring me. What should I do?" It's so unfair. I'm a movie star, and I should be the center of people's attention. But I feel so relaxed when Nathalia's around.

Nathalia lifted her brows and said casually, "I won't go to the party then."

"No. You have to go with me. I feel better with you around." Wendy replied instantly. Nathalia chuckled and though, sometimes I don't understand women at all.

Guests of CEOs, presidents, owners of big companies gathered around, all dressed expensively, chatting, and cheering. Ben Johnson looked extraordinarily pleased today, feeling proud of himself that he had finally earned it, being around important and successful people. I have worked so hard and finally. I'm here. I'm as important as these people!

What's more, he was to meet the mysterious man who was possibly the most looked up to in the world of business. My life is soaring now! He thought proudly.

The president of a transport company suddenly asked, "Mr. Johnson, I haven't seen Mrs. Nathalia Davidson yet. Is she attending the party?"

Though people had read much about Nathalia in the news, not many had had the chance of meeting her in person as she rarely attended any sort of events and wasn't much interested in the so-called social network building.

"Err..." Ben was rather taken aback by the question. He hesitated and said, "Perhaps not." Ben himself had a mixed feeling about it. He wanted to see her, yet at the same time, he didn't want her to attend parties as such because he knew that when Nathalia showed up at an event, he would just be ignored by others. She was like a light that naturally attracted everyone's attention.

The questioner looked a bit disappointed and said, "Oh. Why not? That's a shame."

"Yeah. She should attend events more and socialize."

"I was hoping to meet her."

Others agreed, though deep down, they all somehow felt relieved.
