401 Chapter 401: He Is Actually Crazily Possessive

However, despite her patient explanation, Matt seemed more annoyed. He questioned with anger, "Lisa, you hate me. Why?"

Lisa couldn't help feeling a bit threatened. "Sometimes, things are better left without discussion." How different these two brothers are. Spencer appears to be proud and cold to others, but he is very gentle and loving to those he cares about. She recalled the first time she met Spencer, and her heart ached, thinking about the accident. How could such terrible things happen to a wonderful person like him?

Matt, on the contrary, seems to be amiable and humble, but as soon as he's got power, he shows his real self, dark, cold, calculating.

Matt looked obviously displeased. He insisted, "I want to know why." It was true that he seemed to have changed to someone very different. He was now proud and insolent.

Seeing how he had changed, Lisa was shocked and even a bit scared. "Mr. Matt Davidson, just let it go. Stubbornness won't do you good." She could sense something unpleasant but was glad that Nathalia had left earlier and didn't have to see how Matt had changed.

Unexpectedly, Matt muttered, "Do I really show my emotions and thoughts so obviously? You can tell, then I guess others can as well." Could this be the reason why dad took Nathalia away without telling me?

Lisa had long known Matt's affection towards Nathalia, but she never paid much attention, thinking there was Spencer around, and Nathalia was married after all. But she didn't expect that instead of letting it go, Matt seemed to have grown more attached to Nathalia. "Everyone could tell how you feel about Nathalia. Drop it. It's impossible. Let it go."

"Drop it?! How? Spencer is dead now. It's my chance. Nothing can stop me from getting her." Matt replied without hesitation. He cast away all his pretending, his masks, and spoke out the hidden desire in his heart. He wanted Nathalia, and he was determined to get her.

Lisa opened her eyes wide, and her jaw dropped. "You are insane." She saw a terrifying look on Matt's face. What frightened her more was that it just dawned on her that no one really thought too much about this desire that Matt had towards Nathalia, and no one was much cautious about it. He hid it deeply, deep down in his heart, and when it exploded, it shocked people.

In the dim light, Matt's face looked scarily pale. "Yes, I am. I'm insane. I'm mad, mad about her." He said with anger and determination. Lisa almost gasped. He's been hiding it so well. I thought it was just affection he had for Nathalia. He is actually crazily possessive!

Matt replied with a smile and said coldly, "I know what to do. Lisa, I hope you can be more supportive."

"No." Lisa rejected instantly. This guy is out of his mind. There's only one person that can and has won Nathalia's heart and, and he's...

Matt didn't seem surprised or disappointed by Lisa's objection. In fact, it was as he had expected. "Well, I can give you whatever you want..." he suggested. He would do anything to get Nathalia. He wanted her, the beautiful, brave, smart, and unique Nathalia. She had always been the woman he wanted.

Without a second thought, Lisa shook her head. "No." She then realized that the men of the Davidsons all shared one similarity, their stubbornness when in love, and she didn't know what to think of it.

When it was the right person, then it was beautiful, like Spencer and Nathalia. But when it wasn't, then there would surely be suffering and pain, like Matt.

Impatiently, Matt demanded, "Will you not even give it a thought?"

"No. Drop it, Matt," Lisa answered sternly. She felt a shiver down her spine. There are plenty of great women out there, why do these men all fall for the same one?

"Then I hope you won't regret it," Matt said icily and left.

Lisa watched him drive away, looked up at the starless sky, and heaved a sigh. What's he going to do? She wondered with a worrying heart.

Just as she was to open the door, Sophie opened it from inside and greeted her with an embrace. "Mum, you are finally home. I hope you are hungry! I've prepared supper." She said cheerfully.

In her pajamas still, Sophie had woken up from a power nap and felt recharged. Lisa sat by the table, waiting to be served. Her heart felt heavy.

Sophie set the table, got the food ready, and sat down. She then noticed that her mother had been watching her quietly. Huh? I don't think I've caused any trouble today, have I? she thought.

"Why, mum? What's the matter? You don't look well. Are you tired? Feed your tummy now and have a bath later, then you will have a nice sleep and feel recharged in the morning." Sophie said lovingly.

Lisa did feel a bit better seeing how thoughtful Sophie was tonight. She decided to talk to Sophie about what happened.

"Sophie, sweetie, thank you. I just think that it seems like I've underestimated, misjudged someone." She said with concern. If he's going to do something, he will surely start with Sophie. That was what Lisa worried about the most. Sophie was her most precious daughter, and for over twenty years, she had lived her life for her, trying to make sure that she was safe and happy. She couldn't dare to imagine the consequences if anything happened to Sophie.
