407 Chapter 407: I Think I Saw Spencer

"Oh, by the way, I just remembered that Miss Wendy Allen came by not long ago to ask about you. It seemed like she had something very important to tell you, but she couldn't get in touch with you." Lily said.

"Wendy Allen?" Nathalia muttered, then she remembered when they last met at Nate Morgan's welcoming party. I should visit her. Nathalia thought. Wendy Allen was one of the very few people that Nathalia could consider as friends, someone she could trust.

"Did she say what it was about?" Nathalia asked curiously.

"No, but I could tell that it was of great importance, and she looked rather concerned. Oh, she's left her new number just in case. I kept it at the counter. I will get it for you." Lily answered.

Nathalia gave Wendy a call later in the afternoon after dining with the staff at the café.

"Hello, Wendy, it's Nathalia." She said casually as if it was just a casual call even though it had been four years since they last spoke.

"Nathalia!!!" Wendy exclaimed. "Where the hell are you?!" She asked immediately. "Come to Las Vegas! Now! Wait, what's the date today? 22nd. Right. It's tonight! You have to come here right now!" The urgency in her voice was not to be neglected at all.

"Take a deep breath, calm down, and tell me what it is about," Nathalia said calmly, recalling the passionate and often hectic Wendy she knew, and smiled.

Wendy took a deep breath and said, "Ok. Ok. How do I explain it?" She sounded calmer now, but then she quickly said with excitement, "I think I saw Spencer!"

Nathalia fell silent. Her heart seemed to have stopped beating for a few seconds. "Spencer." She muttered.

"Hello? Nathalia?" Wendy asked after a while, thinking she had lost her. "Did you hear me?"

"Yes," Nathalia said. "Yes. Where did you see Spencer? Tell me your address." She said hurriedly. Now she was the one that couldn't calm down.

Nathalia thought it over and decided not to tell Curt and Sue yet until she was certain. She only said she was to see a friend in Las Vegas and booked the earliest flight she could.

Coming back to Las Vegas, Nathalia was reminded of the most significant and happiest days of her life when she and Spencer got married there. Her heart ached, but she felt hope. She remembered the prayer she said when she left the ocean, that he would come back to her. It was their anniversary tomorrow.

As soon as Nathalia saw Wendy, she had Wendy explain everything, all the details.

"How did he look? Is he well?" Nathalia asked softly. Her heart was pounding, and tears filled her eyes. She tried to picture him in her mind.

"Yes, he's well. He looks just normal. But, well, I noticed there's a scar on his forehead, not very obvious, but noticeable." Wendy answered. "But, anyway, so he was with this girl called Katie, Katie Taylor, the sister of Jeff Taylor, the owner of the biggest casinos here, and he's also started an oil company recently. I personally don't really know her, but I befriended her brother years back when I just started my acting career."

"Katie and Jeff Taylor?" Nathalia muttered. It rings a bell. She thought but couldn't remember who they were. "Why is he with this girl? Are they close?" Nathalia asked.

"Well, they were holding hands, and Katie was very protective when I spoke to Spencer, well, I believed he's Spencer. But he said he's Ryan! Now I'm really confused. Anyway, I was saying that girl Katie was obviously jealous, and she even seemed scared of me, which made me suspicious."

Nathalia listened with a troubled mind. She tried to understand, but it was a lot of information to take for her. "Ryan?" she said quietly.

"Right, but I don't believe them. He must be Spencer. He looked exactly like Spencer!" Wendy exclaimed confidently. "So I thought I have to tell you, but I couldn't get in touch with you at all! You just disappeared! I was back in Miami for a few days about two weeks ago, so I thought I would pop into your café and leave a note..."

Nathalia wasn't listening anymore. There was only one thought in her mind. I have to see him. I have to see him.

"Where can I see him?" she asked abruptly.

"Oh. Well, yes, that's why I asked you to come here today!" Wendy said. "So, it's Jeff's wedding party tonight. I'm sure that his sister will be there and very likely Spencer, or Ryan, will be there. You have to come with me."

Nathalia's heart beat even faster as it dawned on her that she was very likely going to see Spencer in just a couple of hours, after four years! Tears streamed down her face. She bit her lips quietly and closed her eyes.

She could see him behind her eyelids, his face, his eyes, his lips. Come home, Spencer. Come home. We have been waiting for you, my love. She prayed and stroked her wedding ring gently.

To try to calm Nathalia down and occupy her mind, Wendy got Nathalia to help with dressing up while talking to her about the new film she was in.

Nathalia picked a navy blue dress for herself from Wendy's huge collection of outfits. It was simple and elegant. The color reminded her of the ocean, and somehow when she spotted the dress, she took it as a sign that her prayer had been answered.
