411 Chapter 411: Spencer Is Coming Home With Us

Before he reached the table, Nathalia suddenly turned around as if she knew he had arrived. Ryan paused for a bit, surprised, then went and sat opposite her.

Time seemed to have suddenly stopped as if nothing existed except the two of them. They held each other's gaze without a word, yet so much emotion was communicated in silence. She saw his confusion, his bewilderment as well as fascination and even desire. He must remember me. She thought. In her eyes, he saw joy mixed with pain, disappointment with determination, and most of all, love, intense love. She sees me as her husband, and she loves him dearly. I'm not his husband. But she attracts me. He thought.

"I know this sounds very strange as we are strangers, but I want to hear your story, I mean, about you and your husband." Ryan finally looked away, had a sip of coffee, and spoke a bit bashfully.

"You mean us?" Nathalia held her gaze at him and said.

He looked up at her and shook his head hesitantly. "I don't know." He said helplessly. He didn't know what to think anymore.

Nathalia took out her phone and opened the folders of photos, clicked the one under the name "us in love," and passed it to Ryan. "Go through the photos while I tell you our story. Ask me any questions you want." She said, trying to sound calm.

From the first time they met, their first kiss, the prejudice they had against each other in the beginning, the fights they had, the first night they spent together, the several times he saved her from danger, how they fell in love, their secretive and unplanned wedding in Las Vegas and their honeymoon, how they won their mother's acceptance, the house they lived in together...till how he disappeared, Nathalia depicted emotionally, having to pause a few times to recompose herself.

He listened quietly, yet his heart ached for her, suppressing his desire to hold her hand, to hug her and stroke her head. She's telling me about her husband, not me. Not me. He kept reminding himself. However, he did feel the same headache again when he saw flashes of vague images in his head but couldn't remember any of them. He had a feeling that they were scenes that he was once in, but he felt angrily frustrated that he couldn't be certain at all.

They were mainly photos of their daily life, their playfulness, their laughter, their intimacy. When he saw a few photos of Nathalia naked but only slightly covered under the blanket, he felt his heart jump, and the intense desire for her appeared again. He had never had such feelings towards Katie, he thought.

"Why are you so certain that I'm your husband?" Ryan asked.

"Because I..." Ryan then realized he had never really questioned it. He felt his headache intensify, and he looked away from Nathalia, his brows knitted.

Nathalia sensed his pain. She leaned over, extended her arm to touch his forehead. Ryan looked at her instantly as he felt the gentle touch of her hand. She stroked it gently, and magically he felt the pain fading away.

There were tears in her eyes. He noticed.

"It's ok, honey. There's no hurry. You will remember one day. I have waited for you for four years, and I can wait longer. I'm just simply very, very grateful that you are alive, and I've finally found you as I have always believed so." Nathalia said with a tearful smile.

Despite himself, Spencer took Nathalia's hand in his and said, "I want to know who I really am. Please help me."

Nathalia smiled affectionately and nodded. "I will."

Just then, Nathalia's phone rang. It was Curt. Her face lit up. "It's dad." She said. "Dad probably has the answer!" she added with excitement.

Ryan frowned in puzzlement.

"Hello, dad," Nathalia answered quickly.

Ryan watched her facial expression change from shock, to anger, to relief as she listened. "I'm staying with Wendy Allen. I will send you the location. See you soon, dad. Love you." Nathalia hung up.

"Everything is clear now, Spencer. Everything. We know what happened to you, honey." Nathalia said. "But to help prove who you are, there's one very easy way. Dad is coming here, so is mum and our children. You can do a DNA test, just as simple as that."

"Dad? Mum? And our children?!" Ryan repeated, finding it extremely difficult to accept all of a sudden. In the past years, he was made to believe that he was an orphan and Katie's husband-to-be, to accept that he had to marry a woman that he did not love, to live this life feeling homeless and friendless. But now, he was told that he had parents, and this stunning looking woman in front of him was his wife, and they had children!

They spent the rest of the afternoon talking peacefully. Ryan asked Nathalia about his parents, the children, and their life in the past four years since he disappeared. Nathalia answered patiently, sometimes with tears, sometimes with laughter, and the whole time with her eyes gazing at his. I've seen these eyes behind my eyelids for four years, and now finally, I can look at them again with my eyes open.

"We once promised each other that 'I will follow you wherever you go..." Before Nathalia finished the sentence, Ryan cut in, to his own surprise, "Even to death."

"Even to death," Nathalia repeated slowly, and they both smiled.

Yes, his memory is recovering. She thought.

Is this my memory recovering? He wondered.

Ryan's phone rang. It was Katie. He frowned, then answered. "Yes?"

"Ryan, where are you?! I haven't seen you all day!" She asked worriedly.

Ryan gave her an excuse and hung up. Yet just as soon as he put his phone down, it rang again. It was Jeff this time. Ryan heaved a sigh and answered.

"Ryan! What the hell is going on?! The police just came to the casino and took my assistant away. They are looking for me, and apparently, it has something to do with Nathalia Davidson! What did you say to her?!" Jeff shouted anxiously.

Ryan was completely at a loss. "Jeff, calm down. What are you talking about?"

Nathalia extended her hand out, implying that she would talk to Jeff. Ryan hesitated for a bit and passed her the phone.

"We know what you have done, Jeff Taylor," Nathalia said calmly. "There's no Ryan. Spencer is coming home with us."

Ryan looked at Nathalia with his eyes wide open, more puzzled than ever. However, he couldn't deny the feeling of freedom and sense of belonging deep down in his heart, though he couldn't explain why.
