Chapter 102 - Feed Your Fears to My Friends

Go insane…

Chuan Nayi almost sighed and let out a ridiculing chuckle. Was Liu Xiaodan not already insane the moment he chose the child over his life? Then again, was she not also insane for trying to reverse her perfectly rational decision to get away from the trouble Guangru could cause?

However, it was apparent to her that the others had different reactions towards Li Feng's words. Ruan Jin was most likely scared that Liu Xiaodan would lose himself while these two women were concerned with Li Xiaodan's degrading rationality.

However, Chuan Nayi wasn't the two scheming women who had their own motives in getting closer to Liu Xiaodan...

Ren Shanyue frowned her brows. Her lips were pressed in a thin line to stop herself from being amazed at the power Liu Xiaodan could muster. If he became some kind of ghost overlord, wouldn't he be akin to a powerful mafia boss?

On the other hand, Qiao Shan was actually terrified. Not because she hated that Liu Xiaodan could become insane, but because Li Feng knew the secrets of Cherry Medical. There were indeed a few ghost kings hidden in there, and that was only shared to the highest of the Qiao family.

For him to casually say so…

Moreover… Liu Xiaodan could also gobble up ghost kings? Even Mian Lengleng needed a catalyst ghost to raise her power. Then again, she realized that the ghost king Mian Lengleng had was not something as strong as an ancient demon. Perhaps, it was Guangru's ability that made a difference.

Then again, if they needed to groom Liu Xiaodan… they needed to sacrifice the ghost kings they painstakingly caught and groomed as well?

'Does he know that he dropped a ticking time bomb in our asylum?'

Qiao Shan blinked as she realized that her supposed little helper was doing more than what he said he would. Would she still have the family seat if the Qiao family ended up losing riches because of her?

"Ah, shit. How did Liu Xiaodan get in so much trouble?" Ruan Jin ruffled his hair and g.r.o.a.n.e.d in frustration. He then raked his hand through his hair in an attempt to tame it after. "Damn, I'm going home. I'll just come again tomorrow to check in."

"You're seemingly very free considering that you're a full-time college student." Ren Shanyue chuckled, but Ruan Jin turned to her with serious eyes. "It's kinda because Ting closed down for a week days before the semester ends."

Li Feng and Chuan Nayi gasped in surprise. Ruan Jin only sighed before eyeing them all. "There's a media blackout, and we're all told to shut up about it. It's just that… even after the so-called cultists were already out of school, they still woke up to a group of female students dead in their dormitories.

"It wasn't after three days that they were discovered… because the stink had already gotten strong enough to be smelled from outside." Ruan Jin then rubbed his nape. "Five girls—four shared the dorm while one was a visitor—were found decaying in their room.

"What made it hard to speak of was that there were small footprints all over the walls and ceiling. It's like every inch of a ghost attack. That's why the school grew scared and closed down while they're investigating."

Li Feng thought for a few seconds before exclaiming. "I'll ask Grandfather to take a look. The residents of the dorms had gone haywire even after Guangru had left the premises. If his miasma is contagious, then the whole school should be cleansed. Weren't you guys ghost-hunting in the girl's dorm before?"

Ruan Jin puckered his lips in annoyance. "We're not ghost-hunting; we're investigating. Yeah, we came across Ling by then, but I have no idea what else was there. Only Xiaodan would know really."

"Okay, I'll see if Daddy has contacts with—ehem, if my father has contacts in Ting to let the Mian family take over the case."

"Yeah, go on and ask for Daddy's help, hehehe."

Liu Xiaodan woke up again, and it was because he could feel someone was changing him out of his shirt. His hands were free as if the person was sure that he wouldn't be hurt by Liu Xiaodan who was tagged as dangerous.

Why wouldn't the person be? Yun He had been around his kind pretty often, and so he knew Liu Xiaodan's temperament.

Yun He realized that Liu Xiaodan was already awake based on his breathing. He didn't sell out Liu Xiaodan and continued with his actions. After that, he then looked at the guards with him. "It's okay. He's already stable. No need to point a gun at him."

Six lowered his gun and only watched the not-sleeping man. "Sorry, Captain's orders. We'd have to put him in restraints for another day to see if he's really stable."

The nurse only glared, but he couldn't overturn anything the security said. He only helped Liu Xiaodan into the wheelchair after the guards removed the cuffs.

The patient was then cuffed to the chair instead. Yun He only sighed as he had to endure another day of closely watching a patient with some armed guards.

"Their weekly session is today. Are you guys sitting behind him during then? I don't think my patients will talk if they saw you." Yun He rolled Liu Xiaodan out of the infirmary and towards the fifth floor where the weekly session would be.

"We'll just wait outside. Call us if he starts acting up," the one with the number seven in his riot uniform spoke. Yun He only nodded before they all became quiet all the way up.

The fourth floor was the home of the Tier-Fours… the most dangerous of the patients. Yun He wasn't the only one watching over these patients, but all nurses had certain patients that were on their priority list. The other nurses helped Yun He organized his weekly session, which seemed to be working for his patients.

Liu Xiaodan popped an eye open and took a few looks at what he looked like right now. He was in a straitjacket and ankles bound to the wheelchair. He also had a spit guard on his face. A frown showed on his face as he started watching the other patients being walked inside the room.

Anna was among them. Unlike before, she only had her arms rubbing each other. Her eyes were also closed as she walked, supported by the nurse holding onto her. Five more people were walked inside, but Liu Xiaodan didn't have an impression on them.

Only that they were staring at Anna.

However, Liu Xiaodan was making quite an impression on them as soon as they stopped looking at Anna. Who would show up in a support group session in a straitjacket and a spit guard?

The other nurses had gone away, and Yun He sat on a chair within the circle. He then scanned the others who looked wary of both Anna and Liu Xiaodan.

Yun He then smiled as he gestured at Liu Xiaodan. "Everyone, this is Xiaodan. Don't be scared of him. He's just… I don't actually know why security tagged him."

"Hi, I know I look scary, but I didn't really mean to create the look." Liu Xiaodan sighed before eyeing everyone who was now looking at him. "Uhm… what should I say?"

"It's normally what you saw and how it terrified you." Yun He turned to take a look at everyone, noticing that even Anna was looking at Liu Xiaodan. The nurse noticed something wrong with her. "I-It's okay if you won't say anything for now, Xiaodan. Anna, you're not… holding the baby today?"

Anna then dragged her terrified gaze and even pointed at Liu Xiaodan. "He… he scared it away..."

Eyes then glued on Liu Xiaodan again. One man then got off of his chair and threw himself at Liu Xiaodan's feet. "Please help me! Take it away from me, too! I don't want it! I really don't want it!"

Soon, some did the same. Liu Xiaodan flinched and felt terrified by their actions. Yun He quickly got up and pulled the wheelchair away. "Everyone, please… we'll go through your stories one by one."

"You will regret asking him for help..." Anna murmured as she hugged her body and continued to rub her arms. "He's worse than them all..."

"How could a human be worse than ghosts?!" Another woman cried out and held onto her head. "I can still hear them at night, in the day… whenever I close… wait..." She twitched and looked around, not spotting any of the shadows that haunted her. "Where are they?"

The others had also looked around hesitantly, one even feeling his back as if something was missing.

Liu Xiaodan then looked at the windows concealed by blinds. The hallway outside seemed to be overly crowded, eyes peeking from the slits of the blinds. However, they were all fearful of the man in the wheelchair.

It wasn't like this in the prison. It was probably because the ghosts here had some kind of network, knowing who they could hit and avoiding those who could hit them back. Liu Xiaodan continued to watch the eyes until they all tried to move away from the windows.

"It seems like most of you only had harmless spirits stuck with you. Does anyone here find a familiar one in that sea of eyes?" Liu Xiaodan looked at the people in front of him. If he was less brave and composed, he would probably be like this since high school.

"They're all strangers. I don't even know why they're following me!" The woman cried as she almost sprawled on the floor. The ones who chased Liu Xiaodan didn't return to their seats, but they stopped reaching out and grabbing him.

"If you can make them stop talking, I will be very happy and grateful to you!" Another man cried as well.

These two seemed to be the regular people who just happened to attract spirits. Liu Xiaodan wasn't knowledgeable about the paranormal, but he might be able to help them by asking things from Yun He later. Or even asking things to the ones outside.

As for Anna and the three more people who remained quiet, he knew it wasn't the same for them.

A longer look at them made him realize that there was a black mist coming from them as if they were connected to an evil spirit. His eyes blinked, and then he turned to Anna who had the darkest mist around her body.

Liu Xiaodan then decided to speak. "I'm going to tell you a few things about me, and then you decide whether you want me to help you or not." His words intrigued everyone in the room, most likely Yun He who had a lot of questions in mind.

"My name is Xiaodan. I was told to be a medium, and I can easily converse with spirits. However, I was sent here from Wangguan Maximum Security Prison, and I had indeed killed real humans. I don't kill using my b.a.r.e hands though.

"I can't help you in counsel, but I can feed your fears to my friends."
