Chapter 143 - A Transcending King

Even Mian Bingbing was shocked when she felt the black horse guardian's wave of purification wash over her body. However, it didn't make her fears subside… as the blast was meant for vanquishing evil spirits! As much as she remembered, the black horse was left in Li Heilong's possession. If it started reacting to something, then that something must be attacking Li Heilong!

It didn't help that she was well-aware of that vile existence inside the Li Family Estate!

Even if she was scared of it, there was this one second that she picked up herself without regard for her own sanity. So what if that entity could drive her crazy? It had no right to attack her husband!

Mian Bingbing ran off from the limousine and sped past Qiao Shan and Li Yunru. Li Feng had gone up ahead, knowing that the black horse was looking after his recovering father. Mian Tianyu also tried to leave, but he was held back by his sister. As if there was a hidden message in her hold, the younger brother only nodded and proceeded with caution.

"A King… even if Tianyu is capable of vanquishing such a thing, why do I feel like the dybbuk is nearby?" Mian Tianni then moved slowly to get out of the car herself. Driver Sheng actually offered to help her, knowing that it was his boss's older sister. When she got out, she called on Li Yunru and led the remaining two girls towards the gates of the Li Family Estate.

When Mian Tianni got there, the gates were already open. They all proceeded inside the property and saw how the guards ran altogether towards a place. Li Feng was also following them as well as Mian Bingbing. When Mian Tianni stood in the middle of the grounds, her impassive expression contorted into an ugly state.

The King's strength… was strangely fluctuating! If Mian Bingbing engaged with it carelessly, she might be eaten. Moreover, traces of the dybbuk's energy was in the air. It wasn't a miasma, however. Mian Tianni's eyes quivered in confusion. "What is happening?"

Li Feng ran across the hall and even past some guards. His rather athletic build made him a faster runner and even a very nimble one as he jumped over some things in his way. When he got closer to where the strong negative and positive energies were colliding, he could hear some kind of screaming. It was surely Li Xin's voice.

The baby's low cries howled in the hall as it fought for dominance against a small black horse guardian's forcefield. Li Heilong was in his wheelchair, bracing against the winds of the clash between the two spirits. Li Feng then looked at the horrendous thing before evaluating the situation. He pulled off his belt and decided to help Li Xin with her arm. "Auntie, stay still! Stop screaming!"

"That thing bit me! And ate! Everyone! You have to kill it! Kill it!" Li Xin cried as she almost swam on the floor. She already lost a pool of blood, but she was still powered by fear and adrenaline. 

"I'll deal with it. Just stay calm and stop moving!" Li Feng hated the auntie, but he couldn't leave her to die in front of him. She wasn't the aggressive party unlike in Xie Canrong's case. After dealing with the tourniquet and using his jacket to control the bleeding, Li Feng told someone to take her to the hospital quickly. He then got to his feet and watched the clash. "A guardian can repel a King? This is impossible..."

"Heilong! Feng'er!" Mian Bingbing finally arrived and stood next to Li Feng. Her eyes quivered in shock and helplessness. First and foremost, she needed to get Li Heilong out of there. Just nice, Liu Heima levitated and forced the wheelchair back for Mian Bingbing to chase and catch.

The woman then held onto Li Heilong and hurriedly searched him for any apparent wounds. "Are you alright? What happened? You have to tell me!"

Li Heilong's eyes grew wide upon seeing Mian Bingbing. "Bingbing! What are you doing here?!" He grabbed her arms and tightened his hold on them. "Leave now!"

"What—?"

Mian Bingbing was shocked. Was she really being driven away by this man now? However, she could clearly see the terror in his eyes as if they were reflecting her own. Before she could get another word out, the shadow baby then shifted its gaze from the black horse and started cackling like a real baby, albeit with the low-pitched voice. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"

The woman then turned in the shadow baby's direction, her words shocking Li Heilong and Li Feng who heard it: "Xiao Luan..."

"Mommy! Mommy! They're keeping you away from me! They're bad! I want to eat! Eat! Eat! I will eat!" The shadow baby's cries began to grow louder, and even the guardian was starting to get pushed back by the entity. The whistling winds grew fiercer, and Liu Heima was beginning to tear up at certain places again.

However, Mian Bingbing only stood straight slowly and turned to face the baby. "No… this can't be happening… what did I turn you into? Why did you become like this, baby?" She began to walk towards the baby. "No, this can't be right… no, I didn't do this to you..."

Li Feng finally gritted his teeth and pulled out a talisman. He then threw it at the shadow baby, making it cry at the sting of his attack. The son ran at his mother and pulled her away despite her physical protest. "Mommy, no! You have to snap out of it! Xiao Luan's dead; that's not her anymore!"

"Xiao—let me go! Xiao Luan!" Mian Bingbing started to struggle out of Li Feng's firm hold. "I did this! I did this! This would never happen if I wasn't too full of myself!"

A pair of talismans flew and hit the baby, making it cry louder than earlier. Mian Tianyu and Mian Tianni started to exorcise it. Two wide white circles of purification drew in the air, and the siblings began doing hand seals to fight the King—the ghost of an unborn baby named Xiao Luan. 

However, the ghost king was stronger than they thought. It then eyed the two shamans before moving her hand and slapping against the floor. The whole house began to tremble, causing the cement finish to crack. Moreover, its slapping was producing this wind that was pushing the talismans away. Its cries turned into stronger howls, and the talismans began to burn.

"What in the world is this?!" Qiao Shan, who didn't choose to act, screamed in fear.

Mian Tianni gasped as she saw how fast the talismans burned at its successive attacks. "It's a transcending King! Stay back! Tianyu, I'll use my sword. Buy me some time!"
