Chapter 219 - Hidden Floors

"Xiaodan!" Chuan Nayi's voice came through, but she quickly reined in her excitement and relief. "Listen, don't say anything. Don't worry about me, this is probably one of the safest places in the facility. Listen, if I can see you from the camera, they can, too. You need to get out of there."

"…I don't know where to go next." Liu Xiaodan still spoke but in a rather gentle voice. As if knowing that tilting his head a little would hide his mouth from the camera, he didn't care if he shouldn't be on the line longer. "Nayi, tell me where you are. I will come and get you."

"Like I said, this is a safe place. They're probably tapping into this line now. Ruan Jin is in the Rooms Hall, but they're undisturbed there. Listen, those people will kill you when they see you. I can only do so much, Xiaodan."

"Don't worry. Hearing your voice is enough for me…" Liu Xiaodan closed his eyes as the line was suddenly cut. He didn't know if Chuan Nayi f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y did so, but he didn't question her ability. She was a fast learner, and every time the girls would ask Ruan Jin for help to fix their stuff and do this and that for them, Chuan Nayi would learn it so he didn't have to come every time.

She probably decided to learn a few more things, or Ruan Jin must have tried to impress her by showing off his hacking and tapping skills. Either way, she was able to give him a call. Even if he couldn't see her, the sound of her voice made him feel so relieved… and grounded.

The fact that Chuan Nayi could talk to him meant that she was indeed in this facility. He didn't know if Wu Zhong was using her to get to him, but he would need to get his… get Chuan Nayi back. Perhaps he had no idea whether they're friends or more… or even less, but he would take her away from that man that could harm her.

"That was Nayi just now. She said Jin is in the Rooms Hall. Why would he be there?" Liu Xiaodan only confirmed it to them. They had heard of her name earlier, but it was quite surreal. How did someone just call when they were talking about her? However, even if Li Feng and Du Zhizhuo suspected the matter, they didn't want to argue with Liu Xiaodan who had a demon and a King with him.

"He's admitted to the fourth floor. Dr. Jiu found him there," Du Zhizhuo answered, but he didn't get up from his seat. "Everyone in the Rooms Hall is okay. We had protective formation for every floor. If the Mian family is very sure of their crafts' quality, then the Kings shouldn't be able to harm them. That is probably why the worst place to be in would be… the Sick Hall."

Liu Xiaodan lifted his brows. "What about the other places? Food and Leisure Hall very safe, too?"

A head shake came from Du Zhizhuo before he scratched his nape. "Erm, the Lobby Hall, Food and Leisure Hall, and the Parking Hall should be evacuated. No one should be stuck there by now. Administrative Hall was the most protected place, as well as the Lodging Hall. The Treatment Hall had individual formations so the patients should be okay as long as they wouldn't leave their rooms.

"Some hidden floors do have their own protections, but even I have no clearance to access those places. Only the Captain and the head researchers should be allowed there, like those who work there." Du Zhizhuo then hummed. "Then again, you released the other soldiers so they probably alarmed everyone that Hades was the first to escape the Treatment Hall."

"Xiaodan..." Li Feng called out again, but his tone was a little grave. "Can we go back to the Treatment Hall? That's the site of Red Justice, right? I… I have a friend that was taken there after she lost her ghost companion. I don't know why, but… can you help me get her back? We can also look for Mian Qingwei and Mo Xingli while we're at it. I know I'm pretty useless at the moment so..."

"I want to find Jin first. Why don't you stay here for now? I'll go back once I confirmed Jin is okay." Liu Xiaodan placed the phone back in its place. He couldn't sit back, knowing that Ruan Jin was stuck in the Rooms Hall—where he shouldn't be. Maybe they all didn't know that Guangru couldn't detect Ye Ling anywhere.

Li Feng's face grew black. "You're really leaving me here like some dead weight?"

The father smiled though as he invited Guangru to come with him. "Mr. Li probably wants you to be safe. Besides, you already said that you are useless right now. Just keep Nurse Miao and Meng Guo company. If I find some people later, I'll ask them to come here since it's pretty safe in this room."

Words would escape from Li Feng's mouth, but Liu Xiaodan had already made it hard to refute. He wanted Li Feng to serve as his eyes for the people that could be saved. Even if this was according to the scheme of Li Heilong against Wu Zhong, innocent lives were still on the line.

Liu Xiaodan still felt a little guilty and would probably try to find survivors as much as he could.

"Fine. Just make sure you'll come back. Don't leave this place without me." Li Feng tut-tutted as if not being able to deal with a person who just agreed when he called himself useless. However, he could only watch Liu Xiaodan open the door and leave. Before he stepped out of the door, Old Doctor jumped out and stood at the corner as if tasked with the guarding duty.

Even if he wouldn't be able to snack on the remnant negative energy inside Liu Xiaodan while he's here, Old Doctor had received the two red seeds from the two participants of Red Justice. That was enough for him to digest for a while. Unlike negative energy, human souls would give him a bigger boost.

Tuk, tuk, tuk. The sound of footsteps echoed in the dark as five people made their way down the hallway. Song Qixi led the way, followed by Chu Youlan, Sun Yinxie, Fan Meiling, and then Qiao Ni. They were on their way to the first hidden floor of the Treatment Hall. The two men were armed with vanishing bullets that could even destroy greater ghosts.

Song Qixi held down his magnum and was systematically checking the rooms for anyone or anything. Since he did have military training and had trained soldiers himself, this was just like a drill to him. The only difference was that a single misfire might cause them trouble.

"No one's here. They probably ran out as soon the doors disengaged." Song Qixi checked the last door next to the staircase and found no trace of anyone; neither did he find drops of blood. He then went to the staircase and opened the door, shining his light on the way down. "Let's go..."

Bang!
