Chapter 243 - Track Down which Ones are Alive

"Oh?" The Mother backed away immediately. She did hear from Guangru that there was a mother to that father that he held onto so dearly. For her to be here? The Mother hummed as she smiled again, feeling so lucky at her find. She only stayed here on the murky waters to sleep and feed on that dense red seed, but she was disturbed by the arrival of these people. "Then, did you come here for Xiaodan?"

"Can you help me?" Chuan Nayi asked, but she forgot that it was dangerous to actually ask for favors from spirits. Then again, she had already given her question.

Tang Liang, along with everyone else, was actually horrified when they saw the thing that took down the other soldiers. It was a large woman, but her face was in the size of a normal person. Her body was slender and flat in the front and back, but she had three arms—two are the actual arms, and one to hold the head. Moreover, her feet were two hands connected at the wrists.

Her skin was almost at a tanned color, but the smoothness was all over. There were no apparent genitals or b.r.e.a.s.ts even. What made matters worse was that, to the eyes of the orderly, her body looked like two huge hands that joined halfway. It was straight out of nightmares.

The Mother, however, was in a good mood, and she wanted to show off to the other Kings in the palace. With a smiling face, she pulled out her lamp and dangled it. The swaying motion produced a light that felt like a long-exposure shot of the lamp. "Then, let's come back to where I last saw Xiaodan..."

Everyone in the Control Room was quiet. Most of them had seen things like this, but this was the first time that they had seen that woman. Worse was that she was using the same thing that brought Liu Xiaodan from one place to another. They didn't know what that lamp was made of, but they knew that it was very powerful.

Of course, some had never seen any of these Kings or any of those experiments. They were also taking a long time in figuring out what was happening. Instead of watching, the soldier hacking the system kept on working. He then managed to get things working. "F.u.c.k me running! I got it!"

Before they could react again, they felt the whole place shake. It was the same time that the explosion in the Administrative Hall occurred. Everyone was then shocked, and the hacker soldier yelled, "That wasn't me!"

"Holy shit, that was a C4!" The leader then turned to Captain. "Someone in your force carries around a C4?"

"...no, no one." Captain knew that things like those were prohibited for them to be ordered from outside. The only people who could have taken those kinds of explosives were either Wu Zhong's men or Li Heilong's. Then again, since he was talking to the latter, he figured it was Wu Zhong who let his soldiers carry around something like that. However, for it to be detonated just now?

Laughter then came from one of the not-soldiers who had his hand up as if sensing things. "Sir! The C4 took down the protective formation of this Administrative Hall! Well, still breaking down, but holy shit!"

The leader held onto his forehead. "Damn. Now I think that's not C4. It's probably that improvised bomb we're supposed to use on the maze formation. Welp, I guess that was still us, gentlemen!"

"That's not funny!" One of the senior Control Room agents cried out. "Without the protective formation, those Kings would be able to get here! To us!"

The leader then turned to Captain, but the captain was really clueless about those formations. The former then looked at the shaman merc, and he only nodded. The leader then sighed. "Okay, then let's just brace for what's to come. Hey, who wants to track down which ones are still alive?"

The hacker worked on his computer, and the results were displayed on the screen. The staff was actually surprised at how accurate their data had been, and it was easy to tell that someone from the inside was giving them information… or that they knew where and what to steal.

The leader took a look at the results which showed residual readings and faded blood from all existing Kings. "So we have… Abaddon, God Raven… well… Asana and Cyclops were eaten by Hades so we cross them out… ay… we only have two left… where did the rest go?"

"Most of them were killed in the Rooms Hall, and some were killed in the Treatment Hall." The hacker continued to patch the cameras while another person reported his findings. "Hm, sir, we have another few readings or King ranks in the Treatment Hall. We also have a very strong one… hey, lady love, zoom in on that."

"Don't call me 'lady love'." The hacker patched feeds from the secondary cameras on the Treatment Hall. It was showing how a white cloaked figure was being chased down by some red girl. He then offered screenshots of the faces of the two. "Whoa, interesting. Retinal scans actually gave us names..."

"Yun He and Qiao Shan..." The leader squinted. One was a nurse while the other was a volunteer for Red Justice. He then found it strange. Then, he saw something stranger in the info displayed underneath the feed. "Hm? Yun He is… deceased in his reports?"

The hacker shrugged. "It's probably a dead body being moved around."

The leader whistled and then looked at the other cameras. He pointed at a screen. "I see the sergeant. Shit, what is he holding? Is that a head?"

"Sir, Abaddon is approaching his position. Hm… something's wrong with this one. It's like it's evolving..." The analysis expert reviewed intel from the reports and then from the feed. "Yep, totally going stronger. Dammit, does this Qiao family have hands like this all this time? They're pretty powerful… undead mafia, anyone?"

"Apparently, it still wasn't enough." The leader looked around as well. "Show me Rooms Hall..."

"About that… I can't reach Rooms Hall. Are you sure they had been put in place?"

"...oh, I think we didn't have enough time to install cameras there."

"..."

Captain and the rest felt so uncomfortable listening to this bunch of operatives. They sounded so unprofessional and incohesive. However, they were not the ones that seemed to be only motivated by money. It's just that… their blunders were being broadcasted in a room filled with hostages.

The captain then asked, "Why would you do if Mr. Wu walked into this place?"

"Oh, we will have shoot-to-kill orders for him at this point of the plan. So yeah, we shoot him when he walks in here." The leader only laughed. "Though I doubt he would. He probably knew that this place was already overtaken. Moreover, he should be waiting for the Qiao family to help. There's only so much he could do with those speakers." He giggled as well as everyone else.
