Chapter 248 - Finally Found Everyone

The blaze of high temperature was the last thing Chuan Nayi remembered. She even felt like her entire body just went up in flames. She was scared to open her eyes and find herself burned all over. She was terrified of the fact that she could be wrapped in bandages all her life. She just regained her legs days ago; she didn't want another accident happening to her!

However, she had no idea what had happened. The blaze from the fire coming from Qiao Shan's hands was too real for both Chuan Nayi and Ye Ling. She didn't even know if a ghost would be affected by such a thing. The woman could only cry... "Xiaodan… please help me… help me..."

"Why are you crying for?"

The voice of the Mother came to her earshot, and Chuan Nayi knew that she was still safe. There was no pain in her body, but she could feel something rather cold against her… on top of her. Chuan Nayi's dark eyes opened, and she saw a white padded ceiling. The light in the room was very dim, but she could see the white padded ceiling. The Mother's head then loomed before her face, carrying down a smile.

"...where are we?" Chuan Nayi asked as she pushed the dead body off of her. Ye Ling's presence didn't seem to be in the body anymore, but there were marks on the body's c.h.e.s.t. It seemed like it had never met a second of decomposition. The only hard part was that the poor man was probably embalmed already.

"Rooms Hall… my treasure trove..." The Mother chuckled. However, she didn't want to go out of the room. "There's a strong restriction outside. I don't know who it belonged to. It was definitely not here before. Could I bother Guangru's mother to check it for me? I might end up breaking it and picking a fight with the owner..."

Chuan Nayi wanted to ask why the entity didn't want to pick a fight, but all she needed to do was actually take a look at the Mother. Parts of her body had burned, and she needed to rest. The Mother must have tried to resist the flame but failed, and so she fled without forgetting about the two other people with her.

The directress then got up to her feet and found a blanket and a bed. The entity brought the dead body onto the bed, and Chuan Nayi wrapped him in the blanket.

The woman then took a deep breath, still sniffing the burning smell of flesh and wood. "I'll be back in a bit… erm… how should I call you?"

"You're interested in my name?" The Mother only chuckled. "Little lady, I have no name. They do call me 'the Mother' for sheltering and taking the souls of the desperate. Would that be enough?"

"It's a little strange to me because we tend to call Guangru 'the child'. Anyway, I'll stick to what you're used to. Thank you for saving me twice, I guess." Chuan Nayi smiled at the Mother before exiting the door the Mother opened for her. If anything, she should know who resided on this floor.

As soon as she closed the door, the Mother somewhat shuddered. The entity whispered, "How could a mere human stand in the company of a demon and not be scared witless? She even took the time to ask for my name and thank me for saving her. Hm, that woman must be chosen by Guangru as the mother for a reason."

Outside, Chuan Nayi only stood before the door. She couldn't hear the Mother's rumblings, and yet she couldn't hear anything else out here either. It was as if everything was so scared to make a noise. That very notion scared Chuan Nayi. She had been calling Guangru for a while, and he hadn't responded just yet. Did something bad happen to the demon child?

Chuan Nayi took a step further, and she used her will to pacify her beating heart. Else, it would be the only thing that she would hear. There was no light anywhere, and she didn't know what to expect in this darkness. Thud. She suddenly felt like she collided with something. She reached out her hands and felt glass. "What is this?"

A deep breath came from her. She then took a risk… and called out, "Is anyone here? Hello!"

"Is that a girl?" A voice echoed from a place, and a door opened. Chuan Nayi turned to the course of the sound, and a doctor stared at her. He then quickly beckoned her with hand gestures. "Here! Quick!"

"Where am I?" Chuan Nayi asked again even if she already heard from the Mother that they were in the Rooms Hall. When she entered the room, she realized that a lot of them had been cramped up in this small patient room. The bed was even pushed to the side to accommodate everyone on the floor. However, she also found a man bound to the side, but there was a blanket over his head already. "Is he dead?"

Nurse Miao came to her and slowly sat her down to check if she was wounded. "He bled out. I couldn't do anything. Xiaodan must have picked you up from somewhere. Are you hurt?"

"Xiaodan? Xiaodan's here?" Chuan Nayi quickly looked around, but she didn't even find a familiar face. All she heard that answered her just as quickly was Meng Guo who was behind her on the bed. "We haven't seen him for a while now, but he's here. He's been saving us. Ah, I really like him. He's scary at times but very awesome..."

"Ah, yeah, something's very strange with that kid, but he did go all the way to save others." One of the patients from the Treatment Hall said, and all patients actually agreed with him. Even the chef nodded his head as well before handing a pack of chocolate to Chuan Nayi in case she's hungry.

Nurse Miao chuckled as she was happy to see them smiling at least. "Well, it didn't seem like you were rescued by him though. How did you get here?"

Chuan Nayi didn't want to say it, and so she didn't answer. She just probed for his location. "So you… don't know where Xiaodan is right now?"

"We last saw him in the Treatment Hall. I don't know where is he right now. Maybe he's still looking for survivors. Yeah, he did look like he was going room to room." Even if they heard and saw something different from Liu Xiaodan's version of going room-to-room to save people, they didn't want to scare the rest. They weren't even sure that what they saw wasn't a trick in their minds.

"I was just there..." Chuan Nayi couldn't help but say. However, her attention was taken easily when two soldiers walked in. She grew apprehensive because they were soldiers with actual rifles hanging on the sides. One of them actually stared straight into her eyes while the other just continued to sit down at the side.

"Miss Chuan..." Du Zhizhuo made a sigh of relief. "Finally found everyone..."
