Chapter 309 - A Great Shaman

"Nayi..." Fangfen's voice only contributed to the shock in Chuan Nayi before the creature actually lunged at her with an inhuman roar. Chuan Nayi screamed as well, but she saw a pair of legs kick Chuan Fangfen's face to keep the creature away. A black hand then grabbed her collar and pulled her out of the room.

Bang! The door slammed shut, and the creature used Fangfen's body to bang against it. It started shrieking as if it was trying to tear Chuan Fangfen's vocal cords with the noises it was making.

Chuan Nayi was actually pushed to sit on the floor from that pull. Then, she could see a figure blacker than the shadows in the dark hallways, and it was holding the door closed from the outside. A pair of hands then grabbed her shoulders and pulled her up.

"Nayi, stay back." It was Tang Mingming's voice, and it made Chuan Nayi gasp. She was not supposed to see them, but she didn't seem to realize that some entities could materialize to maximize the damage from their onslaught. In the end, she was gently pushed away from the room some more.

The banging stopped, and Yi Junhai let it go as he backed off. By then, Chuan Nayi got to see what the swamp creature really looked like as it crawled out through the door. Its huge eyes grew wider, and its mouth opened in a scream, sending its seaweed hair in Chuan Nayi's direction. However, the seaweed hair was caught by a small hand as it wrapped around the first thing the strands touched.

Guangru let his short arm be wrapped in the hair while the swamp creature continued to crawl out of the door. As soon as it got through, it decided to jump on Guangru like he's a free meal. It's just that the swamp creature swerved voluntarily and missed the child and the mother behind him. It landed on the hallway before clumsily trying to save itself from skidding and getting on all fours. The hair was also recalled.

The child then looked over his shoulder, no smile bracing his angry face. "You should've run when you had the chance. Now, you're nothing but food."

"Not food!" The swamp creature finally made its own sound. However, before it could even jump out of the window, it felt its body being restricted by something. When it squirmed to take a look, it cried as it saw blood droplets swirling around its body. The swamp creature then started to cry for mercy, but Liu Xiaodan only ascended the stairs, his wrist bleeding all the way to his elbow.

The blood coming from him would join the swirl holding onto the swamp creature. With a nod from Guangru, the blood squashed the entity mercilessly. The swamp creature couldn't even quantify the kind of power that was needed to squash itself like this, but it died before getting an answer.

"Shanhu, show yourself. I won't hurt you." Liu Xiaodan called out as the blood from the entity floated like bubbles. From one bubble shot out a small black shape, and it was producing a growl akin to the wolves in the wild forests. However, Liu Xiaodan only smiled at the black shape. "We called shamans to help you, but we might have to wait for them to arrive. Lanlu is waiting for you outside."

"...Lanlu?" The black shape tried to produce a voice, but Liu Xiaodan ignored it already. He absorbed the remaining blood bubbles, and he quickly felt dizzy. The faded blood was so strong… and disgusting. He felt like he wanted to throw up his dinner.

Liu Xiaodan wobbled and fell down, Yi Junhai catching him before letting him sit down on the floor. He shook his head and felt very sick. A hand shot up to his mouth, and he tried not to vomit on his palm. Perhaps, it was because this was the first time he had directly consumed a demon.

"Eurgh, so nasty… f.u.c.k, I can't… I need water..." Liu Xiaodan couldn't help but curse. There was no way he would survive the taste without aid.

When Li Feng heard that they needed him to purify a corrupted Fu dog, he loudly exclaimed while he was eating with Mian Tianyu and the rest. He was not supposed to be caught texting at the dinner table, but he had a reason to do it. In the end, Mian Tianyu came with him.

The shamans arrived at the scene, but a police mobile and an ambulance were already there. From the distance, Li Feng could see Bai Yueji speaking with the detective while Chuan Fangfen was being checked inside the ambulance. Chuan Shengxin was only in a shirt and trousers—barefoot, sitting at the steps of the ambulance and hugging himself with the shock blanket.

Tap, tap. Mian Tianyu turned to the side and saw Liu Xiaodan smiling at them from outside. Li Feng reached out to roll down the window, letting Liu Xiaodan speak: "The community park should be good enough."

After hearing about it, Li Feng only drove away, leaving Liu Xiaodan gazing at the household straight-up across the street. Bai Yueji was too lost as to what to say that would make sense. However, she didn't give away Liu Xiaodan and Chuan Nayi's involvement at all.

…

At the community park…

Li Feng got out of the car with Mian Tianyu and Kang Jun. They met with Chuan Nayi there who was holding a can of fizzy lemonade to calm her nerves. Next to her was Guangru who swayed both of his short legs. On his arms were two things: one was undeniably a white Pekingese, but the other was quite unclear to tell.

"Guangru, are those the Fu dogs?" Li Feng knew that these dogs always come in pairs as one would protect man while the other, the structure. Now that there was a pair in the child's hands, he couldn't help but think so. With a slight nod, Li Feng asked for them from the child. "This one seemed to be ill?"

"Shanhu isn't ill! She's swallowed by a demon!" Lanlu huffed in a bark, causing Li Feng to be frightened silly by the talking dog. He almost dropped the Fu dogs even. "What are you exactly? How could you be so easily caught off-guard?! Are you really a great shaman?!"

Li Feng felt wronged. "It's because you spoke all of a sudden."

Mian Tianyu didn't pay attention to them for now because he was staring at the child while Guangru was also giving him a strange gaze. The man's hand clutched in a tight fist as he remembered the atrocities of this dybbuk. Then again, as it had grown so strong and that it had been helpful to Li Feng, there were no more orders to seal it again. It's just that… Mian Tianyu couldn't forget how many of his students were killed by this demon!
