Chapter 317 - Why are They Still Alive?

The golden hanfu swirled in the air as if dancing in such radical movements, but it was actually fleeing from the wooden vines that shot out on its tail. From the second floor came a chase that placed its life on the line. The maiden demon had turned into her fleeing form for a faster speed. A pretzel woman and a big-bodied nurse used the wooden vines as a path to chase the golden hanfu as well.

Wail! A bone-chilling howl came from the dancing hanfu as if it was trying to freeze whoever was trying to catch and impede it. It was also headed to the gates to flee. However, a huge purple thing rolled out of the house and used its big eye to cast a light that slowed down the hanfu.

The tendrils of the eyes also shot out to block her path. What made it impressive was that the hanfu actually dislodged swords and drilled her way through the tendrils. Her movement had also made her faster. Liu Xiaodan summoned forth another black creature from the spray of blood coming from his wrist.

"What the shit?!" Tang Ernian almost fainted at what he had witnessed. Liu Xiaodan was… those things were coming out of him?! Even Li Feng was shocked by the speed of his digestion because the thing that surfaced… was the demon they just killed! It was the swamp creature!

The swamp creature lunged at the golden hanfu, but the blades actually tripled in number. The mirror maiden continued to cry out in desperation as if she was the one dying. However, she only turned her speed a notch faster to barely get away from the hold of the swamp creature. It's just that the swamp creature managed to slam down on her, clawing a tear in her golden hanfu.

An intense cry sounded, and even Liu Xiaodan wriggled in pain. The spawned creatures dispersed as he was knocked down. However, the maiden demon took back her blades and dove straight to one of the gates. She had also fled. The wooden vines continued to reach out and actually slammed down at the gate she just went through. Bang! Like a breaking glass, the gate shattered!

"No!" The leader shaman was shocked when the vine actually destroyed a gate. Soon, multiple vines slammed down to destroy the rest. At that, the shamans began to flee. No more gates meant no more need for them to live.

"You dare run?" The low howl came from the earth, and multiple vines shot out of the ground to grab onto the feet of the fleeing Qiao shamans. Liu Xiaodan summoned Nurse and Cyclops as they had the fastest record of devouring things. Old Doctor and the frog ghost also came to take care of more bodies. 

They were being eaten alive, and their symphony of screams didn't even faze the calm look in Liu Xiaodan's eyes.

Wham! A strong wave of purification suddenly blasted in the air, and the spawned kings immediately protected the greater ghosts from the hit. Guangru's vines retreated from the ground just so things wouldn't escalate needlessly. A black Lambo came to the scene along with a van with the logo of the Mian family. 

Li Heilong, Mian Bingbing, Li Yunru, and Mian Tianyu came out from the Lambo, and they were joined by the Mian shamans in their black uniform. The master shaman glared at the massacre before them, but the Qiao shamans only remained on the ground as if begging a human to spare them. As he lifted his gaze to the other group, Liu Xiaodan had recalled everyone else, and Guangru had returned to the father's arms.

"Enough killing. Let me deal with these imbeciles." Mian Tianyu set his eyes on the child, but Guangru only turned away and hugged Liu Xiaodan's neck as if he was just a scared small child. 

"Will you let them off with just a few words and a beating?" The father only c.a.r.e.s.sed the child's head. Liu Xiaodan lifted his gaze to meet Mian Tianyu's eyes, but the gaze was just as clear and calm as if there was no haughtiness at all. "They killed around fifty people in this residence. Are you going to tell Tang Ernian here that these Qiao shamans deserve to be treated humanely when they summoned a demon to eat his entire household?"

"This..." Mian Tianyu then took a look at that man on the ground, who was huddled with his cousin sister and her boyfriend. He could see the confusion in Tang Ernian's eyes as if the young man couldn't tell what was happening at all. No, he could process what was happening… but he was confused why the killing stopped.

Li Feng walked through their lines of sight as if breaking the tension with his actions. He then kneeled back next to Tang Ernian. "Ernian, let's get you to the hospital. Let's get you checked just in case."

The young master did get up along with what remained of his family. He then turned to their burning house, the roaring flames being put out by the agents that arrived with them. However, it was enough to cover the darkness in Tang Ernian's eyes with its bright red color. 

"...Feng, no one else survived? J-Just us? Man, I… I can't lose everyone in just one night, right?" He then turned to his friend who was waiting for him to talk. The friend could only nod once before Tang Ernian grew furious. Tang Ernian then glared at the people on the ground. "They caused this, right?! Why are they still alive?!"

"Ernian—"

"No, Feng! Why are they still alive?!" Tang Ernian shrugged off Li Feng's hands and grabbed his collar with both hands. He shook his friend as if venting all the pent-up anger and terror at the man. "Are you nuts?! Are you telling me that you're going to let them off?! My mom and my dad… that thing—!"

Another family car got to the scene, and Ren Shanyue had gotten out. Ren Liang was with her, but he only stood next to the car and their family butler. The woman jogged to the group and the Tang Ernian that was trying to beat up Li Feng. "Ernian! Are you alright?"

Upon hearing the voice of that girl he liked, he couldn't help but freeze. He wanted to act cool, but he was barely holding himself together. She went to hold his shoulder from behind, and he then turned in an attempt to hug her. However, seeing that the father was in the distance, he held his arms from wrapping around her. "Shanyue..."

"Are they from the Qiao family?" Ren Shanyue glared at the white-clothed people on the ground. She then eyed Li Feng who nodded at her. Her eyes moved to see Mian Tianyu and the rest at one side while Liu Xiaodan and Qiao Shan stood at the other. "They summoned the Black March?"

"Shanyue!" Tang Ernian grabbed her shoulders, effectively making her face him, and shook her. "Shanyue! They… they killed everyone! Mom and Dad are gone! Big Brother is also gone! And… and all the aunties..." He then growled at the sight of the white-clothed people. "...but they're not dead yet?! What's wrong with these people?! They dared to kill, but no one could dare kill them?!"
